I have never done cap escalation but i plan on doing them in some future. I understand that you get 6 sleeper BS on first carrier 8BS on second and same amount for dreads.
I was wondering about those two scenarios:
1) what would happen if i trigger 1st escalation wave with carrier then clear it with trigger alive warp carrier away and back to anomaly. Would this second warp in trigger second (8BS) capital escalation?
2) if scenario 1 doesnt trigger second cap escalation. What if i warp carrier of switch pilot to other toon and warp back to anomaly? Would it trigger second escalation?
Another question is if its doable by that way. (all the wrpins or other possible problems with execution.) |

There are two types of escalations waves you have with the sleepers.
The first is made by 6 Sleepless Guardian, this happens with the first Capital on grid (Dread / Carrier) take note that each of them have their own first spawn. So if you warp in both you have 12 Sleepless Guardians on field.
The Secound Wave consist out of 8 Sleepless guardians where 1 dread / 1 carrier on top of the existing capital on field needs to be added to spawn those...(16 additional BS)
Now you have 3 options of doing them if you go for an armor fleet.
Option A: Skeleton Crew 2-3 Webbers (Loki/Vigilant/Ashimmu) 2 Carrier (definitly ARCHONS) 2 Dreads (prefered Moros)
The Carrier jumps into the Side triage up and gets the loki pre locked, then you jump in the dread and start tanking and killing. After you killed enough Battleships you warp in the next dread and kill the new 8 BS. After those died .. the last carrier while your morii blast away...
Option B: **** we are bored 3-6 Dual Plated Webbing Lokis 2 Carrier 6-Doubledigit: Dread
This time the carrier jumps in screaming leeroy jenkins... the lokis kiss their ass good bye and all THE DREADS COME IN!!!...(not the Archon) you assume correctly that this is a DPS TANK composition .. sooo the more Sleepless Guardians get off the field the better ...(fast is important)
Option C: The Rorqual Doctrine 1: Rorqual Whatever...
Rorquals provide capital reps without spawning an escalation wave...same goes for freighters...
If you are pulsar .. well go chimera....
and yes you can use a thanny doesnt mean you should because of the inferior tank... |

Thanny does fine just need to spend a bit more on it than an archon (normal/armor bonus) or chimera (pulsar) - I'd still reccomend one of those over it tho - I once ran an escalation in a pulsar with just a thanny on its own - takes approx 240 seconds per guradian if you know what your doing lol (never again) and about 5x that if you don't know how to get fighter dps properly applied on sleepers.
Lokis should never really be in any danger while carriers are alive and well - if they are properly fitted and you have the appropriate ganglinks running they can tank 2-3 waves of guardians at once off a single non-triage capital repper. |

You can warp the first carrier out, switch to a different carrier, and warp it back in for a second wave. Same carrier out and in will not work, and no requirement to have 2 carriers on grid. |

I remember ~3 years ago during a pilot shortage we would have 1 carrier in, 1 dread, and then switch the dread for the 2nd escalation. |
