Edited by: Pherick Sjang on 26/06/2011 21:06:11 The CSM, both CSM5 and CSM6, have already told CCP what they think of the issue, time and time again, for months.
The CSM was clear - no non-vanity microtransactions.
So what is there to meet and discuss, hm?

Worst-ever patch in EVE. Captain's Quarters is Frikkin RUBBISH!
CPU overload (and my GAMING PC is way, WAY more powerful than that recommended by CCP).
Incarna is Absolute JUNK. I watched in horror as my toon stumbled about the cabin like a ******ed zombie from some ten-year-old First-Person-Shoot-em-Up.
Ok, no big deal - TURN OFF Captain's Quarters! yeah right! and LOOK AT A Door in a WALL! FFS!
Where's my ships? They're in my hangar but I can't SEE my ship(s) spinning like I used to if I have turned off Captains Quarters..
Wait a Moment! I Can't see what ship I'm in? I can't right-click my ship and make changes or load/unload cargo, drones, fuel? Holy SH*T Batman!
WTF!!??
I can't SPIN in my Ship in station?!
Wait a moment. There's a new menu and a new currency!? WTF is wrong with ISK suddenly?! Why have TWO currencies in simultaneous use? Er? Not to CONFUSE people so they sometimes make purchase errors surely? Not to HIDE the Extortionate cost of vanity items?
Now, what's for sale there? HOW FRIKKIN MUCH!!!? I can buy TWO COMMAND SHIPS and a STRATEGIC CRUISER and have money left over for the cost of some of that crap! Ah, so they're trying to make More money from the game through stealth!
What's that people are talking about in local? Greed is Good? Let me have a read...
You have Got to be ****ting me!?!. I pay for a SERVICE and those jerks think of me like That!!!
It's NOT about vanity items. It's Not about Captain's Quarters. It's Not about CPU overload. It's Not about lag in character design. It's Not about making dual-boxing perilous. It's not about an internal document which indicates that at a time of GLOBAL RECESSION CCP thinks we the PAYING CUSTOMERS of EVE - are nothing but a cash-cow for their inflated egos and out-of-EVE development.
Hey - there's lots of reasons products reach the end of their shelf-life - INCARNA and CCP's lack of decency by refusing to appropriately deal with CUSTOMER CONCERNS...
Well done CCP! Game RUINED with one patch and a lack of respect for your CUSTOMERS.
And as for the CCP employers posting here masquerading as players and saying it's not big deal... hoping you'll KEEP YOUR JOB when the **** HITS THE FAN?
What part of THEY RUINED THE GAME don't you frikkin Understand!?! What part of WHAT HAPPENED TO CUSTOMER RELATIONS don't you understand!?!
Death by a thousand cuts - if you add up all the total Bollox they have passed-off on us for years (why no interest on the ISK you save? oh I Forgot its an Icelandic bank!). Why no new ships? No new modules? No MORE SPACE?!... nerf this, nerf that, fob-us off with this, fob-us off with that...
Too busy polishing their egos and not enough listening to the customers.
THE PAYING CUSTOMERS ARE EVE!
Actually this massive protest *is* about vanity items..or rather non-vanity items and whether or not they will enter EVE in MT. What you're saying is not what everyone else is saying.
Poor performance of a patch isn't something new..were you here when they changed the graphics engine? Improved performance will come So please..speak for yourself.

I know everyone has pointed to that one commentary from that one disgruntled CCP employee, but how many of you knew there were multiples? There are 10 (TEN) reviews of CCP on that site, and only one has generally all positive things to say. Basically the gist is the best thing about CCP is the "relaxed atmosphere" which evidently seems to be at great odds with the "professionalism" and apparent lack thereof.

As a side note, I never thought I would see a thread that would overcome the old ghost training disabled thread in terms of statistics.
Looking at it now, this has gone far beyond it. That thread max'ed out at 6226 replies, which is nearly half of where this thread is at now.

Dear CCP,
It is not that you made the NeX items unreasonably pricy, although you have. It is not that we merely dislike change. Some of us dislike it, some of us welcome it.
It is that your business plan, from everything we can see, intends to take away the gameplay central to Eve; the player-driven economy. You're planning on making players that have spent time training for manufacturing, researching blueprints to wring out research efficiencies compete with a deus ex credit card.
Someone else pointed out that many player corporations have standings aid as a service for new recruits. You have players themselves advancing the social mechanics of your game, as part of the gameplay. Do you really think it's a good idea to disrupt that?
When we join, we join for the shiny. I joined because I might someday get to fly a Nyx. I'll admit that. But I've stayed, (and paid for new accounts like this one), because it is the players that drive the lore. The epic battles people talk about in chat while mining are the battles that they or their friends participated in, or caused. All of the politics is real. The bad guys are that other group of players that threw a wardec your way.
What we're worried about is that you'll start by taking the little things away, like offering standings aid as a player corp service, and move on to bigger things. There will be people that are willing to pay real money for the I-win-mobile. If you think that you can boil a few hundred thousand frogs to reach out to the few thousand teenagers with dad's credit card you'll lose us too. Then you will have lost what makes the game worth playing.
You'll lose the experienced FCs that know how to run a fleet and can train noobs to be just as valuable as the pilot in the that T2 cruiser. You'll lose the alliances that police their own territory making the alliance mechanics work. You'll lose the smart players who have poured so much time, thought, and effort into the game. The only kinds of players you gain are the ones with short attention spans. The ones that have no patience. The ones that play a "title" and move on.
And what happens when that's your player base? You have to be forever adding "content" like WoW does. Here's the new dance of the month. I've come to hate the term "content" because it's come to be akin to "just give them more icons". I'm not looking for just "content", I'm looking for play.
Most of your players today are not kids. I'm in my late thirties. I work in the software field. Like most of your players, I'm not stupid. I am not just a revenue stream. I say these things not in an attempt to gain your respect. I say these things in the hopes that they make you think about the kinds of players you want inhabiting your universe.
I won't cancel my account yet. You haven't upended the sandbox yet. Like your CEO suggested, I'll watch what you do more than what you say. I played Star Wars Galaxies, I had a character that made weapons. I had a plan in the game to become the premier gunsmith in my little neighborhood. That was what I was going to play toward. Sony changed the game, I dropped my subscription because it wasn't fun anymore. Please don't do that to us.
Regards,
Nyssa

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
@CSM - After reading CCP,s reply today about calling in the CSM to try help justify there actions i simply have to ask for CSM to not claim representing me or any other of the protesting crowd, if they take up CCP,s CTA meeting.
There can be only 1 reason why they are doing this, they want to use you to justify there plan to put P2W items into the game and then blame the players for doing so , as that is what was decided on CSM metting.
Sad thing is , once you reach iceland you will be askd the following question most likely:
How do we put W2P items into the game without people uprising, canceling accounts or making bad publicity in the international gameing sites.
CSM is suposed to be the players voices towards CCP and not CCP,s way of useing you to justify what they allready have decided to do.
If you go to the meeting and answer there "how do we do it question "with other words than DONT DO IT, then they will later on blame you when the players again revolt about it and say , "but we askd the CSM and this is how they wanted it= how the players wanted it", aswell as you then wont be representing the majority of eve players, which is your purpose.
I know a free trip to iceland may be tempting but if you decide to go , then please demand CCP to send you which questions they want you to answer before deciding to take them up on there offer to come to iceland, and allso demand that you are allowed to post about what is being said on that meeting or what the questions are.
Before the trolls come out and say "how do you know why CCP wants the meeting" then let me say this,: players have now for several days asked 1 question : will there be P2W in eve, this question is being totally ignored which in mine and most peoples eyes is the same as saying, that desicion has allready been made and nothing you do or say will change this, aswell as we dont really give 2 cents for what you people feel.
It would be nice aswell if some CSM would be so kind and post here what there thoughts about this is.
@my fellow pilots of the universe WE formed, Please post here if you feel like me and thinking that CSM just will be used to justify CCP plans and actions, and that it wont effect anything except to ease the minds of the player base while sneaking it in.
X up if you feel CSM trip to iceland is a waste of time and money and that it will hurt CSM just as much as CCP is hurting right now.
Many regards and thanks for reading this, Zuquar Bonaparte 6 years in eve, 4 accounts, -2 though for now until we see what happns

Ok that was interesting.
Very different target markets though. Eve relies on older players and internal economy where BF:Heroes is instant gratification, minimal attention span and zero economy.

Welp, unfortunately this still does not answer the main question/concern we have -directly-. They are still tip-toeing around the issue. CSMs, PLEASE, PLEASE make these our two core issues!
Additionally, they did not even ADDRESS the second big issue that players are peeved about - getting the old hanger view back.
So, it remains:
1) Are you going to EVER go beyond non vanity items with aurum?
2) Are we going to get the old hanger view back with the *permanent* option to "disembark" via station button?

I could say those are just details, but I made a little search and I found out that the average age of BF:Heroes players is not that much lower than EVE's and in the last years EVE Online became much more user friendly, much more directed towards younger players.

Edited by: Takseen on 26/06/2011 21:29:03 Issues partially satisfied by the new devblog
-vague comfirmation that there wouldn't be any non-vanity items -a weak apology for the arrogant tone of the previous devblog
Issues not resolved -Eve will apparently still be in "maintenance mode" with minimal new in-space features or fixes, while development resources are focused on Dust and WoD. Look at how little was done in "Incarna". Like it or not, in the MMO market a subscription fee comes with the implicit agreement that players get a decent amount of new content. Games that don't release enough tend to go F2P -Several outspoken Eve forum posters banned for dubious reasons -A distinct sense that the Devs are both hilariously ignorant(the claim that Incarna was launched flawlessly) and extremely arrogant(the message that we'd all like MTs if they just explain it the right way). -Features removed in Incarna for no good reason
