+1 this is beautiful This needs to be kept alive. CCP, It's a great idea and will keep your CQ just fine - hell, I have NO idea why you guys didn't make it like this way from the start.
CCP, I think the majority of people want two things.
1) An answer to the internal document and a promise that you will NEVER have money for in-game advantage/progression.
2) The above image implemented in game. When we dock, we get our old hanger view with the *PERMANENT OPTION* to "disembark." THEN and ONLY THEN will CQ load. This button will be part of the station and/or on our panel UI.
CCP PLEASE ADDRESS THESE ISSUES AND FIX THEM. This is probably what 80% of us players are truly disgruntled about.

I fully expect this post to get lost within the spam of Account Cancelled, or ignored when people see "Oh, he's in a newbie corp! Hey little trial-ling!" But, I still see some big issues here.
In order of importance:
1) Incarna seems to have no effect on Gameplay.
Nothing in Incarna changes how the game is played. There's nothing on the scale of Incursions or Planetary Interaction. The only change is in the Captain's Quarters, which only changes looks. There's no new gameplay in the Captain's Quarters, other than push WASD to walk. Nothing new to interact with, just shinyness.
This continues throughout the entirety of Incarna. New ship models and turrets. Cool? Yes. But just gloss, no substance.
I do understand that this is a first taste of what CCP wants to do with Incarna, but it's incredibly underbaked at this point. This should have gotten more development time and have actual long lasting impact on gameplay other than shiny.
2) NeX prices are ridiculous.
The majority of people do not want to spend significant Real money on shinyness. Look at the massive blowback on Horse Armor in Oblivion. Skins in LoL do well, but those are complete transformations of your character, not an addition. Also, they rarely cost more than $10.
When spending a significant amount of money, the expectation is that it will have an effect on gameplay options.
Let me repeat that.
When spending a significant amount of money, the expectation is that it will have an effect on gameplay options, NOT power.
The qualifier at the end is the most important. I don't mind that someone who drops an extra 20 bucks has a few more things they can do in the game, they paid for that additional experience. I do mind that if I feel like contributing a little bit extra and getting something cool for myself, the cost is extremely prohibitive and it doesn't do anything. More over, I get angry if someone who dropped an extra 20 dollars has a significant advantage over me. Look at the negative gameplay caused by EA in Need for Speed World or Battlefield Heroes. Items that are directly better create situations where the people who won't/can't pay that extra money are flat out having less fun.
Digital items that have no function should not cost as much as real life items.
I can wear that awesome 60 dollar monocle to a dinner party and be classy. I will never touch that NeX monocle. It is inherently less valuable to me.
3)The variety in the NeX store is lacking.
This goes back to the underbaked feel of Incarna. There's a very small amount of items to buy if I wanted to and the cheapest is about 8 bucks. This needs to be expanded badly, otherwise the service feels useless. Also, this will give a chance to have those crazy outlying items. I wouldn't mind if there was a 60 dollar monocle if there were 20 or 30 2 dollar items to choose from. I might make fun of people who have a monocle, but I wouldn't go into torch and pitchfork mode.
4) Overall variety in Incarna is lacking.
One Captain's Quarters, one ship model, one type of new turrets, a few NeX items. It feels rushed, even though it took 2 someodd years to make. This would have been an okay patch, not a named expansion.
Well, here's to being ignored. Hopefully someone out there at CCP is able to wade through 200+ pages of stuff and some of my words will help.

The reason why CCP are not ANSWERING your questions now, and responded the way they did, by ignoring the issue is...
THEY ARE STILL EXECUTING ON THEIR TIME TABLE... their time table does not have disclosure on these issues at this time.
That is how CLOSED CCP management is, they do it their way, nothing interrupts their schedule, that was committed to.
THE MT EXECUTION TIMETABLE IS STILL IN EFFECT.

Exactly, disenchanted masses don't become disenchanted over night, it simmers for a while then a small incident (or a large one) causes it to ignite.

- Make WiS a permanently optional feature. - CCP's CEO gives his word that only vanity items will be sold on the virtual shops, ever. - CCP's CEO promises that at any one time at least half of the techs will work on improving eve's gameplay. This does not include WiS or virtual shops.
We, the one's playing Eve, are the ones footing the bill so it is only fair that at least half of the resources are devoted to the game we are paying for.
If you want to change our game, fine, let us know and we'll go to another place, but at least have the decency to tell us in the face. No more lying, no more deep throating us with half finished code meant for other projects. We pay to fly ships, not to beta test Dust's virtual shop or vampire clothing.
Put it in the eula that no microtransactions beyond vanity items will ever make it into eve. Then we can sue for breach if they do it ;)

So how many of the angry people showing up to in-game protests are actually going to quit the game? Most people are just going to stick to the game even if it goes a way they don't want it to go. CCP is counting on that. We'll see if all this threadnaughting accomplishes anything when July and August roll around and we're able to see how many players are still subscribed.

I'm sure this post will go unnoticed by anybody important, but I'm not renewing my two accounts which expire in 6 days. I will only come back when CCP decides that the players are important as more than golden geese.
I'm actually not terribly upset about the newsletter. I'll accept it on face value that it's intended to stir up controversy and debate among CCP staff members. I'm more upset about the general turn CCP has taken. I feel that up until now, every single expansion has improved the game. This is the first time that I've seen an expansion which adds nothing substantive to the game, just pieces of flair. Pieces of flair that cost money. Oh, and to enforce the pieces of flair, they REMOVE the hangar view that I've known for 4 years, and some of you have known for 8. It was fast and functional, but they remove that and show me The Door. The screwed up part is The Door takes longer to load than my ship did.
This followed too closely on the heels of trying to charge their most loyal fans 100 dollars a year for doing volunteer work to make EVE better. And they don't even bother talking to the CSM about any of these major changes? I just feel that CCP has completely lost touch with the EVE player base, and until I see evidence that has changed, I'm gone.

OMG! SO USEFUL! So I dock, load the CQ, walk down the hall way, sit in the couch, and there it is! My old UI in 1/10th of the origanl size and half my FPS. Fark, so awesome... And functional!
I run with 2560x1400 not being able to change most of the UI fonts is already annoying... Maybe I should something to aid my eyesight, not sure what though.

"sent by hilmar to ccp global list-
(strt)
We live in interesting times; in fact CCP is the kind of company that if things get repetitive we instinctively crank it up a notch. That, we certainly have done this week. First of we have Incarna, an amazing technological and artistic achievement. A vision from years ago realized to a point that no one could have imaged but a few months ago. It rolls out without a hitch, is in some cases faster than what we had before, this is the pinnacle of professional achievement. For all the noise in the channel we should all stand proud, years from now this is what people will remember.
But we have done more, not only have we redefined the production quality one can apply to virtual worlds with the beautiful Incarna but we have also defined what it really means to make virtual reality more meaningful than real life when it comes to launching our new virtual goods currency, Aurum.
Naturally, we have caught the attention of the world. Only a few weeks ago we revealed more information about DUST 514 and now we have done it again by committing to our core purpose as a company by redefining assumptions. After 40 hours we have already sold 52 monocles, generating more revenue than any of the other items in the store.
This we have done after months of research by a group of highly competent professionals, soliciting input and perspective from thought leaders and experts in and around our industry. We have communicated our intention here internally in very wide circles through the Virtual Economy Summit presentation at the GSM, our Fearless newsletter, sprint reviews, email lists and multiple other channels. This should not come as a surprise to anyone.
Currently we are seeing _very predictable feedback_ on what we are doing. Having the perspective of having done this for a decade, I can tell you that this is one of the moments where we look at what our players do and less of what they say. Innovation takes time to set in and the predictable reaction is always to resist change.
We went out with a decisive strategy on pricing and we will stay the course and not flip flop around or knee jerk react to the predictable. That is not saying nothing will change, on the contrary, in fact we know that success in this space is through learning and adapting to _what is actually happening_ and new knowledge gained in addition to what we knew before and expected.
All that said, I couldnGÇÖt be prouder of what we have accomplished as a company, changing the world is hard and we are doing it as so many times before! Stay the course, we have done this many times before."
