Well, triple-boxing is not easy after the expansion! Running 3 EVE clients on an Intel i7, 8 MB RAM, Windoze 7 64-bit, GeForce 460, 2 Screens. My feeling is that even a really high-end PC won't handle three clients without lag?
It's LAGGY! alt+tabbing to firefox is also laggy, and firefox itself is laggy. ALl CPU cores are working like hell...
This also means that it runs faster having two toons undocked and cloaked up rather than having them in CQ. Thats risky of course. There be bubbling peeps out there! Also means that it's more "fuzz" switching ships for your toons, trading items between toons in same station etc etc etc...
...Guess it's time to get a new graphics card. Thanks CCP, I needed that! My 460 GTX is only 6 months old. NVidia will love you CCP!
This is a game about internet spacesh....no wait! It's a game about internet vanity! ;-)

Looks pretty cool CCP - I like the approach to my ship Couple of niggles:
- The avatar seems somehow sluggish and, for me at least, takes a step or so after I stop moving it. Would be nice to decrease reaction time or increase avatar speed.
- The two side monitors do this blinky-TV-refresh type thing, that isn't quite TV refresh. It's just like a flash to me when I'm not focused on it, and is quite distracting.
- Is the content on the side monitors customisable, or can it be? I almost never look at corporation stuff. Market or skills would be cool. I'm sure others have similar issues with a dedicated PI screen.

Edited by: Morar Santee on 22/06/2011 06:16:32 Considering CCP didn't give a flying **** about our feedback up to this point.. but hope dies last.
It's been said by every second poster in this thread. Please make CQ / normal station environment optional choices.
Please restore previous functionality. Giving us the normal station environment back would go a long way in this.
In CQ, please restore the previous station services window. It is useful to see the NPC Corporation's logo and have a one-click access to its info sheet. I don't know why this was taken away. It makes no sense you would cut out functionality, ever.
Edit: Put ships where they belong in the docking area. They need to be centered above the platform. Small ships ought to look small, not hang mid-air way off their actual docking platform. It makes no sense, it breaks immersion and it looks bad.
Seriously. Please. We're ****ing begging on our knees for you to stick to your promises. It's not really asking too much, is it?

*BUG* Hurricane Hardpoint Layout
The placement of guns and launchers on the Hurricane hull isn't symmetrical. When you place a weapon, its supposed to position them in pairs on opposite sides of the hull. Instead it positions one on one side and another on the opposite side in a different spot. Once you're done adding all your weapons in the fitting screen, you'll notice that guns are all over the place on the wings, hull and under belly. Launchers are hidden since they don't show up on the hull.
The only way to remedy it is to add guns in slots one through six and launchers in slots seven and eight. Unfortunately this isn't an ideal placement for overheating.

The ambient light in the captain quarters is either missing or does not have enough intensity. The super-deep shadows on character faces look really unnatural.
It seems that near the bed is the only place where one can take screenshots of a char that will not look scary as there is a low-hanging light source near the bed which highlights the chars face more or less from the right angle.
Please, make the ambient light more intensive. It is ok to have some shadows, but the current shadows on char faces look like they are being hit by a searchlight.

Bugs bugs bugs...
-When I jump to another clone, all of the ships I own still appear in the hanger, even though there are no ships in the station I jumped to.
-The other client I am running on the same machine has no sound, no matter what settings I try.
-After turning off the CQ, to make the game playable again, I cannot see my ship in station. I have to find it in the hanger list, which is especially fun when there is no way to know what ship I am in. Brilliant...
By the way, the CQ performance is terrible, even with my i7, 8G RAM, SSD, and a 1G Nvidia card. Congratz

10/10 on Incarna's first steps CCP, Bravo.
Don't let these other ingrates get your spirits down with their whining, this is superb work. I'll tell you why:
Pentium 4 Prescott HT 3,0ghz Singlecore 2gb Corsair DDR2667 (4-4-4-12) -underclocked- to 533mhz due to crappy motherboard limitations XFX GeForce 9600GT 512mb
Station runs smooth at 30fps, and I get as much as 60fps out in space. No laggyness while fighting/walking/checking quarters. Does take about 35 seconds to load station environment, but afterwards everything is fine. 1280x960 resolution, all graphics options maxed except AA which at this resolution doesn't help much anyway.
To all the whiners reading this thread going on about performance problems.. well.. My 7 year old hardware > you.

I rarely post something in the forums regard to anything but for this i wil.
The clothing shop is not that exspeisve but compared to the things you get it is not worth it (no admiral coat T-T) the new weapon system are great and the lack of jamming in missions are not bad either.
however CQ was a total let down in the way of buggyness and speed of it.
so i say a slightly wasted chance in eve and a big problem for alot of players as running more then 1 acount is hell now.
Anyway its a nice try but next time label it as patch and not exspansion could you please?

^^this, I would LOVE it if I could have my Market Orders on one of the screens, especially if there was the option to have any orders that changed be moved to the top of the list
A Sci/Ind monitor would also be very welcome in my CQ....

I have an idea...stop being a bunch of f&%king children and grow up. Now I know this update has screwed with a lot of peoples EVE playing, but its not the 90s anymore, its freaking 2011. No matter what CCP does, you lot will nag and complain anyways. I run 2 games at the same time with both in station (yes, on one computer). All I'm running is an AMD Athlon 6000+ dual core 3.0ghz CPU, 4GB RAM (Using a 64bit OS), 1.5TB HDD space and an Nvidia GTX 9800+ (1GB) graphics card...with a 256kbs internet connection. No problems, blown a few ships up today and lost just as many, hasn't impacted my pewpew in any way.
I enjoy walking around in the station, a change from station spinning. And sitting down playing the market, getting names of bounties, keeping up to date with sov changes and getting names of new pilots to recruit has made waiting for my GCC to cool down a LOT more enjoyable. Only problem I see is the massive expense behind the clothing items.
For all those complaining, grow up, get with the times and get a damn life.
CCP, step in the right direction. Thank for you the FREE expansion and for bring EVE that step closer to being a full scifi reality for us to enjoy (and thanks for all the hard work too). ---------------------------------

Last time I checked, semite was a culture, and jew was a religion. No race was involved, so that disqualifies racism.
However, making broadly applicable claims, and throwing every member of a religion into the same pot, is a very questionable practice, and should be refrained from.

The sprites for the new turrets that appear next to the target that turret is firing at are very low resolution to the point that the image just looks like a gray blob.
I ran a mission today in a domi to see the new turrets and I noticed this problem when comparing the icon for drones and 350mm Railgun II.

I don't think my turrets skill bonuses are being applied, or at the very least my implants bonuses.
NPC speech sounds are following me around everywhere, into and out of stations, through gates etc.
Speed indicator is stuck on warp
The temporary 'do not load stations' needs to be a permanent option or you are simply going to alienate a large amount of people.
also...
The new turrets are nice enough (but a pointless addition)
The unoptimised junk that is the captains quarters is just a disaster.
You gave us a barbie doll instead of a ship in a hanger and yet all the mechanics of 'you must be in a pod to jump' etc are the same as if we are still docked in a ship. This is a disastrously embarrassing mess and needs to be fixed.
I'll refrain from giving you my true thoughts on the store or the monocle that costs a months worth of food.

There is a lot og negativity going on, now. Perhaps it is because I haven't tried Incarna yet, but CCP's intent is to make this game better. With Incarna they try to do something big. Why not let them try; they will listen to feedback, things will get closer to what we want, and again we will enjoy the great game that is Eve.
Perhaps we should consider Incarna 1.0 as skill level I, most skills won't do much good until level III. Giving Incarna a rank 25, we'll see level III before christmas.

First off, good job, really like the CQ and new turret parts, looks nice, runs smooth (currently quadboxing @60fps)
-CQ: see no problems so far, waiting on more station stiles (races) -new turrets: like a lot of turrets, digg the recoil and barrel-glow -Maller: finally good-looking, if useless ;) -Noble Exchange: expensive enough that is will be really rare, thank you
so and some not-likes: -strip miners: tiny blue beam? how is that better than awesome big yellow mineral-sweep? mining ops just got much more boring ;) also, they dont switch between top/bottom turret until cycle is over, leading to top hull-puncture

Quite a bit I like. The turrets, the graphical tweaks to the spaceships. The agent finder is a great addition.
However, the Captains Quarters is killing my laptops graphics card. A 66 percent reduction in fps is not acceptable in my book. and that's with the settings on low. Can't double click on my ship to open the cargo and turning it all off just gives to a dull background with no spaceship to look at. And the new marketplace is just a con to rip us off.
I'm sorry, but in my honest opinion, Captains Quarters is just a blatant attempt to push up sales of graphics cards from CCP's preferred vendor's. Not giving us the option to keep a station UI we were used to proves that.

You're joking right? Ever since walking in stations was floated (4+ years ago or so), people who actually play they game questioned its purpose. Fast forward to 2011 are CCP are still unable to answer the question yet are still pushing ahead as if just to prove it wasn't vapourware.

ISSUE BROUGHT FORTH A FEW WEEKS AGO.
The CQ environment (still) runs worse than 3 times slower compared to the old hangar view.
Even people with NEWER graphics cards will "suffer" from video card overheating due to nearly three times the workload being required (compared to the old hangar view).
The first step seems to have been taken - we have the option to NOT load the CQ environment. What it does is keep displaying the "Loading" screen on the background without ever actually loading anything. This is a decent fallback for the people with less than stellar performance machines which would be overwhelmed by the extreme graphics of the CQ, but it's a very poor compromise for people that actually wanted to run the CQ environment every now and then.
BUT IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE ONLY TEMPORARY !!! WTF ?!? BLOG linkage
A much better fallback however would be the option to maintain the current hangar view alongside the CQ environment. Sure, start off new players inside the CQ if you want, make the option to load the old hangar instead of CQ hard to accidentally find in the menu if you want, but allow the option to remain. It even makes far more RP sense - the boarding of a pod and subsequent exit from it is supposed to be a relatively slow process, and you're not supposed to look exactly tidy (all covered in pod goo and naked) the moment you get out of a pod, so getting out of it every time you dock makes very little sense. Keeping the current station environment alongside CQ should not be such a big deal (I mean, how hard it can be NOT to delete something), and it would go a long way towards appeasing some people that don't even know yet that they'll be annoyed by its absence (let's face it, not everybody knows what's coming, and you can fully expect a horde of angry people coming to the forums for the first time to complain).
But let's say that for some reason, you can't keep the old hangar environments, no matter what reason. The current compromise only allows us to select between CQ at same graphics detail as the rest of the game, or no CQ at all (just a blank screen with the neocom on it, from what I understand). The problem that should be obvious with that is the fact even the lowest detail level CQ has a noticeably worse framerate compared to the highest detail level current hangar or space environment. CQ and space need to have two completely separate sets of graphics options, and a much lower graphics detail option than the ones available now needs to be present. Ideally, you should be able to set it in such a way that inside CQ you can get roughly the same FPS as you can get while flying in space. Granted, some parts of CQ would look like crap under those conditions and at the current development level (heck, some parts look bad even on highest everything right now), but that's a different story.
So, to recap, if CCP insists, well, ok, keep the CQ environment as the default enabled option, but:
* MANDATORY - separate the CQ from the non-CQ graphics detail settings into two completely separate groups which you can set differently
* MANDATORY - keep the ESC menu option to not load any environment at all
* STRONGLY PREFERRED - add some even lower graphics detail levels for CQ
* OPTIONAL BUT HIGHLY DESIRABLE - do not delete the current hangar environments AND make them an alternative (default disabled) via the ESC menu
Hell, ideally entering CQ would be a station service button in the old hangar view !
This, CQ is not an improvement.

Running a I7-950, 12Gb ram, and a 460 nvidia card.. And with graphics optimized for quality my computers lags as HELL. The client is so damn heavy in captains quarters mode that it locks up.
And why cant we choose between ship spinning mode and quarters? Quarters where fun for like 15s, and then i wanted back no use of it if i cant interact with other people, it just takes forever to dock and undock when mining.. :|
