Give me 1/2 a bill and I'll be happy... give me a ship I'll never use in a system that any ship that doesn't have a strong defense gets popped in a heartbeat, then you'll see why I don't want this ship or need it.
Are you serious? Your joking with me aren't you. Look, I'm probably never gonna have a use for a Minmatar Breacher, but I certainly wouldn't complain if I woke up one morning to find one in my hanger.
Are you saying that as part of your monthly payment, CCP owes you a christmas gift that makes your life just so fantastic that you are walking around on a rainbow the rest of your days? I don't remember that in contract.
Look, I'm brand-new to EVE, so I am not jaded yet. My eyes are still full of hope and promise. I left WoW because of childish behavior, and I am not saying anything I've seen here comes anywhere close to WoW, but the fact that I am reminded of it should still give you pause.

I said it before it was released, and I'll say it again; please, increase the hitpoints of this thing (or add slots and fitting) so that a destroyer can't instapop it. As it stands, its only real use is gankbait.

CCP should be kissing the ass of those that pay up front... we are in a guaranteed contract for that six months or a year, good or bad we can't pull out like those that pay a month at a time. Yes we pay less ultimately but we also have the greatest to loose as well.
If you want to keep the CCP ideal, which is that have some people put a year in and realize that CCP doesn't care about it's people except to keep them happy enough to actually play the game, but frustrated enough with how things are going that they play only because they have put so much effort into a character they might as well keep it going... then fine. But how about for once you make those people really happy and give them something they can use instead of something that only .001% of the people will ever use any time whatsoever.
As for the WoW comment, and? WoW is a kid's game this is a game in which it takes a year to really get a good character going... this is a game for people who don't mind spending 3/4 of your time training, and the rest fighting or loosing ships, or trading, playing the market, etc... this game is nothing close to WoW...
At least when Blizzard comes out with something free, it is useful.

I think it should be upgraded much like the Primae, sort of into a hacker vessel needed to hack into special Sansha things from the Incursion thingys, or when those wormholes open up and Sansha pour out (are those the same? I haven't been keeping up to date with that) But that's just my personal idea...

It's actually brilliant how CCP has used these gifts to bring people in to other parts of the game.
How many people scanned or even thought about it until we got the Zephyr. Now all those anomalies are no longer quite so hidden.
The Primae, well not so much. Tried running PI in it and frankly found that, except for perhaps people new to this without the skills/assets for industrials being able to actually haul around command centers, it was not terribly useful.
Now the Echelon is specifically designed to get more people involved with hacking. I mean, I can't even fit the ship since I don't have, even after a couple of years in game, that skill yet.
So I can understand the angst that 'seemingly' useless ships may have to really long-term players, but still appreciate the thought that goes into these concept ships.
Plus the design is pretty cool....

Any noob out of a trial account can use this... it's not that difficult to get into. Hell I had these skills nearly 5 months ago.
Give us a ship that people that have a year under their belt will use... almost everyone I've spoken to in game said they will horde them, but they will never use it.

My comparisons to WoW were not related to the game. My comparisons were to the troll-like behavior in the forums. But now, I am starting to exhibit some of that same behavior, so I will stop while I still can.
Cheers!

The "free" ship: Worthless, what a piece of crap. How about some god damn free skill points? that would be useful, not this crappy little crappy ship.

Originally by: Faolan Fortune Really nice ship... but something that will never see space, just like the primae*, zephyr etc. which is a damn shame.
*I made a suggestion about a salvaging ship using the primae hull, which was responded to by CCP hinting they already had the same idea, before the noctis was revealed. If anyone has a really good idea on how to use the zephyr and now the echelon hulls for a useful mass produced ship, give it a shot.
Faction Scanning/Covert-Ops ship, with increased directional scan range

The Learning Skills removal, while I didn't agree with it, was at least substantial. To follow up with... this? Laaaaame.
No x-mas present for you then this year. CCP, make it so.
You do realize that you have paid for this "present"? And that CCP needs to pay a designer for couple of days to work on that model? I would rather see my money used either for new usefull ships or the redesign of old usefull ships, so I at least derive some value from it by looking at while i fly it. I will fly the echelon probably only once, and leave it in the hanger afterwards, like 90% of all eve players...

I'm expecting we'll see it have an actual use once Incursion shows up, as a no-skill alternative to a more useful ship for hacking Sansha stuffs.
Still needs more hitpoints, though.

There have been many calls for new ships and there have been (since I've been playing) two ships given as gifts. And yes the Primae is useless whilst the Noctis has untold potential...the Echelon will never get used by many. Bah Humbug!
When will we see truly useful ships? There are frigates up to motherhips and potentially more and yet when it comes to making an honest buck, we the carebears, have to settle at best for a HULK for ores and the Mackinaw for ice. Not to mention the 30+ days needed to train to use them the outcome is a paltry cargo hold and a ship that is easy to target and destroy.
When will we see an ORCA class mining ship or an ORCA that can fit strip miners? Or a new ORE ship that 1. can mine more, 2. can hold more, 3. can survive long enough for Concord to assist, 4. that doesn't cost 1000 units of ice, 5. that gives bonus to strip mining, 6. that makes us feel good about the time it takes to learn the skills 7. ...that will have shield tank bonus that increases with greater numbers of them in close proximity (like the Sanshas).
The whole game is geared towards killing that's awesome but some of us are just miners. When will CCP decide to encourage the many players who pay just as much to mine and yet get little else out of this game?
Nuff said Ships of warfare come in all shapes and sizes but ships of peace are more expensive, harder to train for, and are constant targets. Make your HULK a weapon and smile :) |

It's a Frigate I thought it was a Shuttle with extra cargo space. At least that's what I've been using it for.

Any chance you'd be willing to say what route you normally fly it on? Think I still have a spare Thrasher around...
