Originally by: Rasicloud Edited by: Rasicloud on 18/08/2010 14:13:07 i've got various notifications and eve won't start. first it said python25.dll was missing, after that msvcr**7.dll. after i copied them from a windows directory i've got that Message: snip
Please run repair.exe, apparently your client is not patched completely. There should be no python25.dll in the new client, it was replaced with python27.dll.
For all others, where the client does not work: Please also run repair.exe, if you have not tried it yet. If it is still broken please write a bugreport and attach a log from logserver.exe (http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Log_Server) and if possible a crash dump (http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Reporting_Crashes).

Edited by: CCP Tenitigo on 18/08/2010 14:23:34 For those encountering crashes after patching the client, please try running the repair.exe tool located in your Eve install folder.
If the crash still occurs after running the repair tool, please file a bug report and include the following information: - A crashdump generated by the client at the time of the crash - A logserver file logging the clients actions leading up to the crash - The repairlog.txt file which is generated after running the repair tool. It will be located in the same folder as repair.exe - Dxdiag file
Please include notes on when the crash occurs (before seeing the login screen, after logging in but before character select, in space, in station, etc).
Bug reports can be filed at http://bugs.eveonline.com

Originally by: inmoratal4tw i just uninstalled eve, downloaded the entire new client from this website and installed it. and i still get this: http://img534.imageshack.us/f/16486835.jpg/ right after "entering character selection"
i also just run the repair tool but it does not help.
if re-installing the game does not work i dont know what does work
Please run logserver and follow the steps here to see if a crashdump is generated.
Create a bug report and include "Attention: CCP Tenitigo" in the title. Make sure to attach the logserver file, crashdump (if it was generated) and a dxdiag with your report. Thanks!

i still have the same problem: i submiddet a bug report and the log server file my report ID is 99478
Btw somewhere on that site that says how to report a bug it says to ad /minidump at the end of the shortcut: i followed the steps and tried to change my shortcut target from "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP1\EVE\eve.exe" to "C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP1\EVE\eve.exe /minidump"
exactly like it says on that site you linked, but i get a error says its invalid and that i should enter somting else.
Change it to:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\CCP1\EVE\eve.exe" /minidump
Note the quote marks around the path, with /minidump being outside the quotes. |

Originally by: inmoratal4tw are there more people getting this error? is there any progress? what should i try now?
Could it maybe have somthing to do with the Alienware Light plugin? i read somewhere that this was being implemented for the alienware laptop with PI patch ( like the flashing lights on my laptop when i get warp scrambled), ( if im the only one with the problem theres a good chanse that that is it? )
Could you please try and disable AlienFX support, by pressing your Escape button, going to the Graphics tab and unchecking the "AlienFX Support" checkbox?

i cant make a new quote but this is a reply to nimbus below:
i did it (change /minidump) and i looked at the log server and somwehere it says this:
Crashed 0xE06D7363, minidump being written in C:\Users\Roland\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\#crash b174282 2010.08.18 15.37.50.dmp
But i cant find any file named "#crash b174282 2010.08.18 15.37.50.dmp" or somting like that in C:\Users\Roland\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\
Press the Windows key + R to open up the "Run" window, then enter the following and click OK:
On Windows Vista or Windows 7: %appdata%\..\Local\CCP\eve
On Windows XP: %appdata%\..\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE
This should open up an Explorer window, from which you can find the files you are looking for.

For those encountering a crash with the Tyrannis 1.0.4 client before the login screen appears:
We've narrowed down the likely cause of a crash to a program called Netlimiter. It appears that only the earliest version of this software is affected (1.xx). If you have this version installed, please uninstall it and restart your computer. The client should startup successfully afterward.
More recent versions of Netlimiter do not appear to be affected (Netlimiter 2 or Netlimiter 3 Beta).
If you are still encountering crashes and do not have Netlimiter installed, please file a bug report with a crashdump so we can investigate the crash further.

Originally by: D33Dite uninstalling netlimiter has done nothing for me, still the crash at splash screen still the same error
Could you update your bug report and attach a new logserver and crashdump file now that Netlimiter is uninstalled? I'd like to find out if the cause of the crash has changed.

We have deployed a client to Singularity (v6.31.175988) that may help address the following issues:
- The client crashes before the login screen appears.
- The client is unable to connect to the server when connecting via proxy software.
If you are experiencing either of these issues we'd appreciate your help in verifying that the issues are resolved.
Steps to setting up an install for Singularity can be found here. The current Singularity patch can be downloaded from here.
Please remember to create a copy of your Tranquility client before applying the patch. The Singularity client is not compatible with Tranquility.

Originally by: Jinjer Ninja Downloaded the Singularity patch and when I ran it the program gave errors, it went to the repair tool option to try fix it and finished with checksum mismatch. Downloaded it again...same error. Buggy software
Try the fallback patch locatedhere.
