Checked chucker's web, updated to latest sisi version, and now I am getting "Incorrect (Protocol)" errors.
Anyone knows what is happening on sisi?
Some thinks I got from wireshark....
Incompatible protocol stream copy:
7...~................... [email protected]@ccp ...~...."....exceptions.GPSTransportClosed%..Incompatible (Protocol)....client..origin... reasonArgs/.-g.cx.....clock...loggedOnUserCount..ccp..region..Incompatible (Protocol)..reason [email protected]_INCOMPATIBLEPROTOCOL. reasonCode..EVE-EVE-RELEASE..codename.....--
And about the test server latest patch the client will autopatch to: http://www.eveonline.com/patches/patchinfo.asp?n=166246&u=&s=87.237.38.200&protocol=2&intended_platform=win&client_bitcount=32&actual_platform=win&platform_type=desktop&platform_version=6.0&platform_extra=2&platform_bitcount=32&client_fullversion=6.30.166246&edition=premium
Some bits from the Log Server:
Quote: Handshake Failed - Insecure Macho Version Mismatch - Server: 244 - Client: 245
Closing connection to 87.237.38.200:26000: {'reasonCode': 'HANDSHAKE_INCOMPATIBLEPROTOCOL', 'reason': u'Incompatible (Protocol)', 'exception': None, 'reasonArgs': {}}
Creating Closed Packet: Incompatible (Protocol)
The current build number (166246) is newer than the one returned by the web server.
Gonna go back to TQ version and try again....

I know, and if you see the link I provided and/or the topic title, you can see that I had 166246 build installed
Repaired (downgraded) client copy to TQ version, then patched again to sisi's. Working atm.
It looks like the client copy was corrupt somehow.... If any ISD/BH/CCP tells me what logs they need I will bugreport it. I will seek for them on sisi.

Hey... Can you tell me what Sisi version to patch to? I would downgrade, then patch to the latest, but Im not sure if the latest is functional

As long as the patch is not included into the auto-patching procedure of the client, if you are just looking for a TQ to Sisi patch go to this web: http://games.chruker.dk/eve_online/server_status.php
Then on the right column, scroll down to the third row if it does not show up (just below the graph its title is "Patch From TQ version to current version") and select the one for your operative system (Windows or Mac). Click on the link, and you will be downloading it.

It's pretty amazing that you have to go to a 3rd party website to find correct information about SISI instead of CCP's own "please read before bothering us"

You don't have to. Even a casual glance at the url reveals how it is structured. You just fill in the two build numbers and you got the patch.

How do you know the build number to patch to without looking at eg chruker's site?

Do you have a client up to that patch to see you are getting "Incompatible (Build)" error message?
I know it is a "do not bother us", but they could use a "Restricted" status..... so we know only ISD and above can enter sisi....

Yeah, but quicker for non-programming people out there that play eve. Perhaps 4 of the 5 people posting here are programmers IRL, but the other not.
/emote looks around.....

Hehe.
Wireshark and other sniffers ftw.
EDIT:
Almost forgotten about, managed to get in, but systems threads are not launched on the sol servers, so...
/emote guesses only Polaris and CCP test zones threads are launched.

Edited by: Batolemaeus on 27/06/2010 06:40:21 Ecaid, the ISD BH bot, used to provide you with the build number, now i just use Valkyrie: [06:19:08] <Batolemaeus> !sisi [06:19:10] <Valkyrie> Singularity (EVE-EVE-RELEASE@ccp 6.30.166246/245): OK, 48 players
You can of course achieve the same by directly querying the server, but that a bit too much effort for getting early access to sisi in case the autopatcher doesn't work. And when actual testing is supposed to happen, it does work.. You can also use this: http://www.eve-metrics.com/api/server_status or http://eve-offline.net/?server=singularity
