Edited by: Triniton on 14/04/2010 13:17:21 Edited by: Triniton on 14/04/2010 13:12:08 Last night members of Zombie Inc started a massive volcano under a small glazier in Iceland. http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/04/14/iceland-evacuates-hundreds-near-restless-volcano/ Its considerably larger than the one that just ended nearby and could last over two years.
Since evacuation has been completed Zombie Inc will move in and seize the carebears lifestock.
You can follow the volcano on http://www.icenews.is/

Hmm, 'Iceland, a nation of 320,000 people"
I just realized, McDonalds employs more people than the whole population than Iceland... by about 100k.
Caveat/Disclaimer: No detrimental connotations implied or intended towards our good friends in Iceland. :)

Perhaps, but the population of Iceland have better hygiene and can string a more coherent sentence together I would imagine.

It's an AP story, and not an original Fox opinion/drama/faux-news piece. So it's probably true that the volcano is going to erupt, melt the glaciers, and wash the Icelandians into the ocean where their frozen corpses will bob upon the waves as shark sized popsicles.

Video of the glazier melting. Early news suggest his will "probably" not affect Iceland Glacial but may cause a new flavor to be released "soon".

Its in the same area. No signs of activity in Katla this morning but chances are Katla will follow this volcano but when/if that will happen is not good to say according to experts.

In relation to Katla - it is same latitude to the west
Don't you mean melted?
Anyway, this is really exciting and I look forward to seeing this roll out. Damn I wish I had me a Chimera |

Alas, somebody forgot to tell half of America that it is indeed, a sick parody of a bi-partisan news channel. Thus, it is treated as news over here :(
Also, Hope that melt water doesn't flood CCP HQ... ===

So Fox News isn't a subsidiary of The Onion? Hmm I think it is now, because the Fox News logo was used in that one - and you can only do that without penalty if you own the company
Volcano erupting in Iceland - awesome! I wish I could see that for myself. You could say: WIN
However the amount of FAIL in this clip is so much off the scale, that a FAIL tag and the usual Picard-Riker-Double-Facepalm link should just be omitted on this one.

See, even the good ol' BBC screws up pronunciations in their report (9 secs in) :p
No update from FOX yet, I wonder if they will go with the 'global sea level rise resulting from the melt water devastating all coastal cities' tomorrow slant as an appropriate hysteria piece...

I really can't say that I blame them. Icelandic is a lovely language, but if you're not familiar with it, then "Eyjafjallajokull" looks like the noise you make when you step barefoot on a LEGO brick. - Verin "Stitcher" Hakatain. |

Screwing up trying to say an admittedly complicated word in a language with no common base while being pretty close is one thing. saying "too many letters" and just skipping it is a different story.

That's the best you could come up with? I'm pretty sure almost everyone on this forum who isn't a CCP Dev or from either Norway or Denmark can't say that name. _________________________________ ## You got that? Right I'll be back in approximately 300 seconds to retort! ## |

OK...
Someone explain this to me.
Discounting news items centered around politics and partisanship...how is Fox any different than any other news outlet? I mean...I know that Fox and MSNBC are two sides of the same coin...but on basic news items...how are they different.
Ok...I don't actually need someone to explain it to me...cuz the answer is "none"...I'm just seeing if we have people in the forum capable of painting a picture with a slightly more narrow brush.
