Edited by: Perdition64 on 15/03/2010 22:34:22 I seem to get really sucky money from level 2 missions. I run them fast enough in my drone-based vexor, but I get quite bad money usually ending up with 1.5m per hour. How the hell do I get a BC with that?
Or should I just quit flying my vexor and use some other ships, seeing as people sem to make better money than me in caracals, or an arbitrator..

Train up connections and start running level 3s ASAP.
ISK doesn't get meaningful until you hit level 4.

Arbitrator will yield you about the same efficiency, it's basically identical to the vexor in capabilities, and for PVE the vexor is better. Caracals can roast level 2s with assault launchers and do it at decent range but unless you are aiming for a Raven it's not worth cross training.
Ultimately you're aiming for level 4 missions and 2 of the best level 4 runners in the game are the Dominix and the Raven.... If you like how the Vexor flies, just continue down the path that you're on Vex -> Myrm -> Domi, or if you're just not feeling it, switch to a caracal and go Caracal -> Drake -> Raven.
You're not going to be making stellar money in level 2s, but still make sure to loot and salvage everything, you'll make better money than with payouts/lps alone.
With connections you'll be able to jump right up to level 3s which pay much better, but you'll need a BC to do them well, so if you're trying to save money to make the step up, you may want to take a few days to train probing skills, archaeology, and hacking and start running low sec exploration sites (radar and plexes are full of win). You'll make much much better money. Just be sure to insure your vexor because you will be operating in low sec.
Just threw this together in 10 seconds, adjust to taste based on skills, affordability, and preference.

So that's 40 hours before you have enough ISK to, for example, buy and fit a passive Myrm (guesstimate including buying rigs and T2 drones)?
Do you already have the necessary skills to effectively fit and fly a BC? If not, how many hours of gameplay do you think you can squeeze in before you do?

There are several level 3 missions that are doable in a Vexor, even for a noob. Load up Hammerheads instead of Hobgoblins and watch your tank. Could be a little hairy the first few times. It was pretty easy once I got T2 drones. Do that ASAP.

I am currently mining a level 1 mission that has over 1.5m plag in it. It just doesnt get any easier than that. The ISK from low level missions is not in the wrecks/loot its in the 'other' stuff to be found in the mission.
