I found an excellent patch today for the win 7 users you described. You can upgrade with no hassle, and everything about your life will be better!

For gaming, that life will rather be really crap.
But if your into movie and music production, then Mac OSX is the best way to go.

Meh, enjoy paying out your nose to have MS allow you to use their software, when they feel like it. Let's see, how many of you actually read the EULA? --------------------------- Only those who surrender are lost |

Well, at this point, that's only because of the small game selection. If gaming is your ONLY objective, it would be less cost effective too. So I grudglingly agree ;)
Although they're good for a lot more than the two things you mentioned.
In anycase, you read too much into my awesome bad joke! That's all it was, no agenda, just to make people smirk or turn red in anger if they were so inclined.

Spoken like a true pc user - ignorant of facts, asserting anyway.
You get what you pay for. It's not like PC land where you can build the cheapest computer in the world if you want to - they don't start at super low end when you start pricing them out. They do overcharge for upgrades when you're ordering custom systems, but most of us buy our own ram and junk elsewhere anyway.
But regardless, more restrictions? BS. Development, and the OS and all that comes with the territory is more open than MS crap will ever be. Why would you say something like that? There's zero basis for it. Were you being ironic/trolly?
Btw, how many times did you have to reboot your computer and restart your browser to type that message?

1. I was trollin :D 2. I custom built my computer like a smart person 3. I like a lot of Apple products, I just hate apple as a company. I like the Microsoft OS, I just hate Microsoft as a company most of the time for their decisions, same with Apple. I just have less use for an apple as a gaming / all around bad-assery machine than I do with Macs. Yes, I own an Iphone and an Ipod Touch and I love them, my dad has a iMac, I'm happy with my custom built monster with dual Radeon 4890's, intel core i7 920 and 6gb of RAM that I can replace and upgrade however many times I want.
If you are any sort of smart person about computer hard-ware and software, you'll know how to build your own system, and then it just comes down to "Which OS do I like more" and I seem to find more of a gain when I'm using Windows Vista over Mac OSX (Yes, I said Vista, it's not as bad as people love to think, I'm still needing to order my FREE copy of Windows 7).
A lot of people liked having MAC OS but hated that they are stuck to Apple hardware, so to my understanding that's basically the premise on why Hackintosh exists, but then Apple cuts support on Atom Processors so that they can try and ring customers back to their hardware, same with microsofts bull**** with that anti-piracy patch. ________________________________________________ My Music "Commander-Shepard?" |

Edited by: Vogue on 01/03/2010 06:36:47 Nowadays Apples use Intel processors and share a lot of other internals with Windows PC's and Laptops. In the UK an entry level Macbook laptop starts at ú816!! You can get a Windows HP laptop that has the same level as build quality from ú400.
I used a Macbook Pro for 2 weeks and i was really infuriated by it. But that is more to do with i am so used to Windows OS computers. Ubuntu Linux GUI is decent but still not as slick as Windows 7.
Using a computer is like driving a car. There will always be a minimum skill level need to be learned to best utillise them and especially various applications.
Apples marketing makes me groan, ergo:-

at some point it did say you need a win7 product key. and I'd guess it has something to do with convince, starting from a fresh os install can be annoying at times.

This tbh - last time I looked in detail at laptops (a few months ago) a ú900 Mac was roughly equivalent to a ú600 PC.

uh read it before you post. It was simply saying how to trick win 7 retail into upgrading your win 7 RC, and keeping your settings. it's not an expiry hack. Please resize your signature to the maximum allowed resolution of 400 x 120 pixels with a maximum file size of 24000 bytes. -Weatherman

there's another article somewhere about how to trick win7 upgrade versions into thinking they are a full retail version... go google it. (it's really easy iirc)
also you could just install vista/xp anywhere and insert the win7 upgrade cd and do a custom install to install from scratch. Please resize your signature to the maximum allowed resolution of 400 x 120 pixels with a maximum file size of 24000 bytes. -Weatherman

Edited by: Grez on 02/03/2010 13:41:06 Those bashing about having to restart the pc or browse to post messages and what not (actually I think it was just one, but I don't care). I've only had to restart my machine for updates that apply changes to the core system, which is exactly the same as OS X. At time of writing, my system has an up-time of 6 days, 10 hours, 20 minutes, and 40 seconds. Never crashed.
And the only time my browser's crashed is because I want to use Flash 10.1. ---
