What they don't realize though, is how effective right-click drop-downs are for so many things in eve. CCP is indeed on a 'crusade' against context menus, Punkturis confirmed as much. The problem is that they are on the same time seem to be trying to reduce the amount of buttons, ending up with hiding all kinds of functionality under unresponsive double-clicking and 'secret' shortkeys. OMG I so hope not! Now I can do everything with my mouse (except since short opening a second can and we know the reason) but if they really go the "keyboards shortcuts rule" way, oh god I shudder just thinking of it! Why Punkturis, why? If it ain't broken stop fixing it, right?
what I said was not related to the inventory UI, it was related to the war list in the corporation window. It makes sense there
if I remember correctly it was because there's not an option to right click on war to open war report, you double click to open it - but since it seemed like some people didn't realize you could double click it, I made some changes to it for Inferno 1.1 that you'll see on sisi really really soon! Iamien wrote:I think they are trying to eliminate the need to use right-click drop-downs in EVE. Indeed we want to reduce their number. I just had a demo today from CCP Punkturis and CCP Sharq of a new UI control made recently by CCP Colgate that will reduce the need even further to have right-click menus or pop-up windows. It will first be used in an iteration of the War Deceleration and War Report UI. Erlendur S. Thorsteinsson | Software Director | EVE Online, CCP Games | Follow on: Twitter / Google+ |

Sandrestal wrote:My biggestcomplaint is looting multiple wrecks. Old way you opened all the cans after you salvaged them, then just hit "loot all" on bottom loot can and the next can opened. Now you try that in new UI and after looting each can you get kicked to ships hanger, then you have to click on next can, then loot it, then get kicked to ship hanger. Its a endless click fest OK, this has been fixed; at least internally and will then be included in Inferno 1.1. I was at a sprint review with the team yesterday, and specifically asked about looting experience and got a demo of how it works from CCP RubberBAND. I found the experience to be really fluid. MadMuppet wrote:Well according the the Dev blog we get one more update to the UI on the 19th and then they are saying, "That's the best it is going to be" and move on. I guess we wait and see. My account dies on the 20th. No, that's not what we said
We said:Quote:"Sorry for the confusion; yes, there are deployments on 7 June (tomorrow) and then on 19 June. It's Inferno 1.0.9 and then Inferno 1.1. Both deployments will contain fixes to Unified Inventory. Inferno 1.1 primarily contains updated Minmatar ships (continuing the so-called V3 Project).
After 19 June there will further releases, Inferno 1.1.x, as needed and as promised, for Unified Inventory."

Captain' Jack Sparrow wrote:Great! Another thread about the "feature" called the Unified Inventory...
Since I haven't received a DEV response to this issue in any other thread, I will post it here. At least two DEVs have been here already. :-) We are focusing the response on this thread here: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=117617

I was *JUST TOLD* by a GM that THIS THREAD was the "official" thread. https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=112481It's no wonder why things are so messed up. There's definitely a communication breakdown at CCP.

There's definitely a communication breakdown at CCP. I apologise for the confusion. The thread you linked is the feedback thread for a dev blog CCP Soundwave wrote 2012.05.23. He then wrote more dev blogs 2012.05.27, 2012.05.30 and 2012.06.04, and we are currently using the latest thread from 4 June that I linked. Erlendur S.
