When you try to rotate your camera "up" or "down", you hit a hard stop and can't rotate further. In station, this doesn't matter but in space it can be annoying.
Suggestion: Eliminate the rotation stops, so one can rotate freely regardless of the ship's orientation in space.

Yes, I'd like to see that gone, together with ships leveling out on a stop and any feeling of up and down or left and right that you don't define by yourself. It's space after all.
And to bring in the sandbox argument just for the fun of it: It's a sandbox. Let us define the directions ourselves and don't hold our hands by defining it for us! |

This will confuse some people.
Perhaps leave it on by default. with and option to turn off the rotation stop *********** Military Tactics Dasfry, CEO Demio's Corporation

In space, there is no "up" and "down", but in EVE there is.
- All stations are aligned the same way
- Most solar systems are aligned so you get the best overview by looking down on the map
- The whole EVE universe is aligned in this way (that's why you can "flatten" the map and still use it effectively)
- Most missions and deadspaces have a 2D layout (There's even stuff such as fences ... apparently, when CCP decided to make a space game, they already had half of the graphics finished)
EVE is mostly 2D, and I think this was done for a reason (see below).
As long as most of the EVE universe is more or less 2D, the current Euler-angle rotation system is more useful than a real 3D rotation system.
The only true 3D space game I've ever seen was Descent, but although it was fun to play once you figured out how to control your ship and move/rotate/strafe in 3D, most people hated it and thought it was unplayable.
Maybe, true 3D will become more acceptable in games when we got rid of 2D monitors and 2D input devices. This is not going to happen soon, if ever... |

I can't find a reason not to remove stops tbh and i have actually myself wondered why they are there
On the point of removing the Leveling of the tactical overlay i don't see a reason to remove and in a way it makes things easier
