Originally by: Loco Eve anyone here that congrats this guy for training all those wasted skills to lvl 2 just because is about as stupid as he. sorry for flaming you but it's true. should really get more specialized in certain areas. lvl 2 only makes you have the skill. not be able to use it for anything good but bragging about something soo useless not a win in my book. rather see this char. with something useful like a titan/doomsday at 5!!! if eve had a skill called dumbass you would most certainly have that also trained to at least lvl 2 as well.
186 (80.52%) of a total 231 available ships. << is useless?
Level 4 : 49 (12.56%) Level 5 : 131 (33.59%) << is useless? how many lvl 5s do you have?
sovereignty lvl 2, which means not only can he found an alliance; but create a corp with thousands in it.
in addition to being able to fly most ships, he has specializations in ALL weapons. how many weapons are you specialized in? how is being specialized in ALL weapons and being able to fly 186 different ships - useless? did this become a 1v1 dueling game all of a sudden? i mean, that's where being super specialized into one role would count, right?
pretty much... any ship available, he can jump into and use, t2 style. are you that versatile? if he were in a pvp corp... someone that can fly anything and use anything - that's useless to... who exactly?
can you fly all flavors of titans? can you fly all race's dreads?
5m in leadership is a waste? "oh, but he's only lvl 2 in the specialized".. yeah, cuz if he NEEDED to train to lvl 3+ that would take centuries, eh? much less he is a fleet commander...
3m in nav skills, the usual 5 lvl 5s. oh wait, the usual IMO. how much SP do you have in navigation skills?
the 4 lvl 5s in social make it a lot easier TO mission, and maximize all but LP gains from missioning. +20% LP on all missions isn't bad either (all special connections to lvl 2)
5m in trade. he says he's a freighter builder and trader...
these are just a handful of items i see from a casual once-over.
can we make all these statements about you?
what i see... is if he wants to do X job, odds are he's only 15-30 days from being GREAT at it.
as far as goals... why not start maxing out groups? max out the rest of the nav skills, or maybe social or trade skills?
what's it matter? that toon is worth 27.5 BILLION isk, from skillbook costs alone. 131 lvl 5s? how many toons don't even have 131 skills?
bleh, words.

Nice achievement, interesting discussion. I've only really started setting goals since leaving my 0.0 PvP alliance 3 months ago. Currently I'm going for owning and flying (decently) all four races' faction battleships. As Gallente, the Navy Mega was just a matter of isk, the Navy Apoc slightly more training, the CNR and Fleet Tempest will be the more training intensive ships, as I'm maxing out gunnery atm. |

Huh.
I see how you attempted to derail an interesting discussion about the player with every skill in existance to a discussion about you, who nobody was talking about.

CCP never pulled them off the market since they were never there in the first place. Therefore they didn't need to pull them out of people's head either.

This is really impressive - quite an achievement! I personally think that piloting every ship would be the neatest goal for you at this point. It, like having every skill trained, seem like really "basic" goals that are extremely time-consuming to obtain. Being able to say "if it flies, I can fly it" would be just incredible.

Do you find yourself wishing for even just a 1% bonus toward some stat after completing a cert?
They would make some sense IF there was some sort of reward for them.
I'd bet that by the end of the year, MORE certs are available. If you have this as a goal, see you in 5 years... ---------------------------------------------------

If I may ask, what was the hardest skill book to obtain?
Boring and obvious an answer though it may be, the four Titan skills take a tremendous amount of time and isk to acquire. In particular, their prerequsites of Capital Ships 5 (Rank 14) and Racial Battleship 5 (Rank 8), and their 4.5 Billion Isk (each) price tag really make them tough.
meh, yeah.. thats basically where I am stuck at :(
If I would forsee affording them I'd have made 390 a couple of months ago - capital ships lvl5 ;)
Grats on making it btw ... some time in the distant future when I have the titan skills I'll log in to eve before you do when there are new skills and beat you to being first ;) . |

I'll admit, a little bonus for having a cert might be nice. You're probably right about it taking 5 years, though. I once started trying to figure how long it would take do get all Elites, and I got bored adding it all up. I stopped after only a couple categories and it was already a year-and-a-half.

I was a little bored so I opened up Evemon with a virgin char.
All certificates to elite, without learning skills or remapping - 9460d 4h 48m 4s ( total approx 162m SP ) With suggestions from Evemon ( basicly all learning to V ) 3929d 8h 33m 7s ( total approx 167m SP ) Pop in a set of +5 implants and evemon says 3070d 4h 12m 56s

So, probably 3-4 years for me, I'd guess. That's almost as long as getting all skills took me. I'm not sure I want to shoot for such a long-term goal again. --- All 390 skills trained. Tripoli on EVE-Sheet.com |

Its actually around 400M skilpoints (and this was before Subsystems.
http://www.eve-mag.com/wordpress/archives/1214
"To get level 5 in all 366 skills would require 411,648,000 skill points (SP). "- Evemag Well, assuming that figure rounds to about 411 Million SP you divide that by an average of 2500 sp per hour. 164,400 hours or 6850 24 hour days or 19 Years 1 Month 1 Day and 9 Hours.
Worth of training time (with perfect skills / +5's) This is to get Lvl 5 in ALL skills currently in Eve.

I currently have 24 elite certs. The remaining 88 according to Evemon would take me around 4 years to get to elite. Thats from my current 384 skills (119 @ lvl 5) and 97mil skillpoints, so that should give you an idea how long it would really take.
