Once again, I have reached my goal of having trained every obtainable skill in EVE. I added #390 this morning, marking the fifth time a I have achieved this goal.
- First to train every skill in EVE (390) May 13th, 2009 - First to train every skill in EVE (360) November 13th, 2008 - First to train every skill in EVE (359) June 21st, 2008 - First to train every skill in EVE (147) May 2nd, 2004 - First to train every skill in EVE (79) Late 2003
Here are the links to my character on inEVE.net and eve-sheet.com. Note they inEVE may not update for a couple hours. http://ineve.net/skills/character.php?charID=MTczNDA2OTI3 http://eve-sheet.com/skills/Tripoli --- All 390 skills trained. |

Maybe not completely useless, but they are so disjointed that they might as well be. There is no profession in game that your char is suited for, only thing your skills are close to accomplishing is being a Jita 4-4 daytrader.
Funny you should mention that, as I sit here in Jita selling my goodies. My actual profession is Tech 1 & 2 ship production. My Gallente invention skills are completely maxed out.
As for my plans going forward, at present I'm getting rid of all my pesky level 1 skills. The addition of the skill queue finally convinced me to do those, and I expect they'll only take a couple weeks. Then I probably will go back to working on the certificates. I already have all the basic ones, but it's a LONG road to get all the elites. I may also take this opportunity to train some useful skills for myself, like Advaned Laboratory Operation 5. --- All 390 skills trained. |

If I may ask, what was the hardest skill book to obtain?
Boring and obvious an answer though it may be, the four Titan skills take a tremendous amount of time and isk to acquire. In particular, their prerequsites of Capital Ships 5 (Rank 14) and Racial Battleship 5 (Rank 8), and their 4.5 Billion Isk (each) price tag really make them tough. --- All 390 skills trained. |

Well, my character celebrates his 6th birthday on May 30th. I did not train for a period of about 4 months in 2005, and I'd guess that about 1.5 years of time was not spent trying to collect. I'd guess somewhere around 4 years. Someone could pretty easily figure out a better estimate with EVEMon, I'm sure.
At present, I have 127 level 5 skills, totaling 359 ranks (or 91,904,000 skill points) between them. Again, not all of them were required to reach my goal. Take Advanced Mass Production, Production Efficiency, Evasive Maneuvering, Astrogeology, Gallente Encryption Methods, and several skills I have maxed out in the Trade category for example. I did on occasion go out of my way to train useful skills for my professions, and after achieving my goal of collecting all skills on several previous occasions, I always spent my time working on other useful skills or skill goals (such as certificates). I also wasn't collecting skills right from the start, but it was something I started working on after several months in the game. --- All 390 skills trained. |

More useful yes.
"Useful" is a very subjective word. Just about every skill related to my profession is maxed out. I have no "use" for any other skills beyond those, because they involve aspects of that game in which I have little interest. Shall I then simply not train anything, just because no other skills are relevant to what is useful for me?
What, in your opinion, could I do to make myself more "useful"? --- All 390 skills trained. |

Hey! Training to fly all ships is my thing ( and finished it, again, with a few hours of training a few days after apoc). You're not gonna try and be competition, are you?
Of course I am. The only skill goal I consider out-of-reach is Dr Caymus' record of having the most skill points. Being able to fly all ships, have all elite certificates, and have the most level 5 skills are some of the things on my mind. Right now I'm still working on getting rid of all my level 1 skills by getting them up to level 2. Only 142 left to go. Originally by: Clementina Congradulations Tripoli for your accomplishment.
I'll throw some recommendations into the pot. Although I have maybe 1/3 of your skill points and half of your skills.
Try Research Project Management 5, you could have one extra research agent.
Ignore haters, Seldom have I seen a hater cured, even by the rediculousness of their positions
RPM 5 is one of the skills on my list of things I'd like to have. I have a several career-related skills I wouldn't mind maxing out.
Also, since this year's respec optimized my attributes for Navigation skills, I was thinking of polishing off that skill tree. I certainly wouldn't be the first to do it, but it would be nice to have. --- All 390 skills trained. |

I'm celebrating my 5th birthday in august and quite a seasoned learner myself. Although not near you i only got 3 spec's and all are way better then yours. SO your goal is mainly HAVING the skills not really using them.
Being average in everything isn't half-bad considering the lack of training I've put into most skills.
Seriously, though, I do have a few specializations. Most importantly, the skills I use for my trade (Gallente invention and production) are basically maxed out, plus I have an alt who supports my efforts and is very specialized.
But yes, my main goal is having everything, not so much as using it. Let's face it, I'm probably not going to be owning four different titans any time soon.

I'm still having trouble deciding exactly what I want to accomplish skill-wise going forward. I'm still working on getting all my level 1 skills to level 2 (about half-way done now). I noticed that I can significantly increase the number of elite certificates I have in just a couple days, so I'll probably do that next. Just finished training every skill I had at level 1 up to level 2 (took about 3 weeks). I don't have my spreadsheet in front of me with all the info, but I believe that leaves me with:
Level 0 Skills: 0 Level 1 Skills: 0 Level 2 Skills: 201 Level 3 Skills: 12 Level 4 Skills: 50 Level 5 Skills: 127
Now I just have to figure out what the heck I want to do now.
I've considered doing certificates, but getting all the elite certificates is a HUGE commitment, possibly bigger than collecting all skills, though I haven't done the math. I started plugging it into EVEMon and got bored half-way through the Dones category, at which point I was already over a year. I do have all the basic certificates already.
I could train all skills to level 3 now, I suppose. That's about a 5-month ordeal.
I can always try to anticipate future skills, and get the theoretical prerequsites for those trained. (Anyone have any quesses?)
Can train to fly all ships, which would take a couple months.
I just don't know.

To the best of my knowledge, there are still three skills, which are still creation-only: Black Market Trading, Genetic Engineering, and Mnemonics. I have to say, the only one I'm 100% sure about is Genetic Engineering, but regardless, it's only possible to have one of them. No one has two or three of them. So, indeed, 391 skills is currently theoretically possible. A situation which I hope CCP fixes (by releasing these skills, of course). --- All 390 skills trained. Tripoli on EVE-Sheet.com |

Heh, I find it interesting how many people think I'm one of the power gamers in EVE, but I'm really not. I work a full-time salaried job about 50 hours a week. I think of EVE as kind of a hobby, just something I pick up a few evenings out of the week for maybe an hour or so at a time, generally. (Though 5 years ago I was a little more obsessed, I'll admit.) As far as hobbies go, I also do my own work on sports cars and race them at the quarter mile, I'm into guns (pistols in particular), and I work out several times a week. Originally by: Dr Caymus So, anyway, are you running sub-10 quarters?
Unfotunately, I'm still a bit slower than that. I'm car sitting in the high 12s at the moment. I just finished helping a buddy install a Procharger on his TransAm, though. We're planning on taking it out to the quarter mile tomorrow to see what she can do, but since he lacks a roll bar we suspect he'll get kicked off after a run or two. I'm thinking he'll run 10.5s, but it's hard to say. His suspension needs a little more work to keep that thing under control.
The plan is to Procharge my car possibly early next year. Before I can crank up the boost, I'm going to have to rebuild the motor, so this will probably end up being a 2-part project because of financial limitations. I think some people are failing to comprehend something about my situation. I don't need to train any other skills. Almost every skill related to what I actually do in EVE is trained to level 5 already. What do I do? I build and sell freighters. That's it. Boring? Sure. I don't care. It pays the bills, doesn't take too much of my time, and allows me to lead a real life outside of EVE. Skills related to building freighters?
Production Efficiency - I have level 5. Mass Production - I have level 5. Advanced Mass Production - I have level 5.
Okay, so I occasionally dabble in Gallente Starship invention.
Research Project Management - I have level 4. Laboratory Operation - I have level 5. Advanced Laboratory Operation - I have level 4. Gallente Starship Engineering - I have level 5. Mechanical Engineering - I have level 5. Hacking - I have level 5. Gallente Encryption Methods - I have level 5.
Natually, I have a strong background in Trade skills to help me buy minrals and sell the ships, in fact they're a little overkill:
Accounting - I have level 5. Broker Relations - I have level 5. Contracting - I have level 5. Daytrading - I have level 5. Margin Trading - I have level 5. Retail - I have level 5. Trade - I have level 5. Visibility - I have level 5. Wholesale - I have level 5.
What more could I possibly train to make me better at my profession?
So I choose to spend my time and my isk collecting skills and training for crazy skill goals. I have nothing better to do with my training time. I don't want to go out and fight; I did that years ago and got bored of it. I don't want to run missions; I think they're boring. I've logged more time mining than some macrominers, so please God no more of that. I like what I do now, and have no plan to change. I am already well-prepared for future additions to the industry professions of EVE, at least the ones I'm likely to participate in.
I (wrongly) figured that training every skill to level 2 would make people stop commenting on how I had so many skills barely trained. Before that, I saw people critiize other skill collectors for leaving skills trained at level 0, so I always trained mine to level 1 as soon as I got a new skill. I can have every skill trained to level 3 or higher in about 120 days, if I wanted. Still useless? I could have them all at level 4 in less than 700 days. Believe me, as far as skills goals go, that's not that long for me. But then I suppose people will say, "You don't even have Capital Hybrid Turret trained to level 5??? Wow, how useless are you after 8 years?" There really has to be a breaking point somewhere other than 15 years and 233 days from now when, assuming they never added more skills, I would run out of things to train. |

He, he. Yeah. In the end it a question of how much your little sandcastle is worth to YOU...
I saved for 3 years to be able to afford mine. I barely made it in time. I literally had about 2 weeks to spare. Now I'm saving up again, just in case they decide to release more crazy-expensive skills again. --- All 390 skills trained. Tripoli on EVE-Sheet.com Tripoli on eveboard.com |

That's just the way the folks of EVE-Sheet.com decided to label skills which were briefly available in-game, but were never intended for release. --- All 390 skills trained. Tripoli on EVE-Sheet.com Tripoli on eveboard.com |

I certainly considered doing that, but since my main goal has been attained, I figured I'd train some more useful skills which have plenty of Intelligence primary and Perception primary attributes. Without a specific long-term plan, I also tend to get bored with whatever I'm training after a few months and want to do something else. The choice I ended up going with gives me the most flexibility, while still providing fairly good training speeds for most skills. --- All 390 skills trained. I was into PvP a loooong time ago, but it just doesn't catch my interest these days. That said, while not particularly good, my PvP-related skills are nothing to complain about.
I have all racial Cruiser and Battleship level 5s. I have all small/medium/large racial turret level 5. I have very strong Engineering, Electronics, and Mechanic skills. I can fly every Dreadnaught, Carrier, and Titan.
While there is obviously a whole lot more I could work on, I've got a good starting point. --- All 390 skills trained. Tripoli on EVE-Sheet.com Tripoli on eveboard.com |

Well, I'm hopeful something will come out with Dominion, but so far the patch notes aren't mentioning anything. --- All 390 skills trained. Tripoli on EveBoard.com Tripoli on EVE-Sheet.com |
