Don't know if it was mentioned, but I'd like to have to option to turn off the sound effects made by reppers and hardeners. Primarily hardeners, since they are always perma-run.

Originally by: ShadowDraqon 12 ~ Auto-pause (and auto-restart) training (by Adrian Idaho) Not having to manually pause skill training and then start it again when plugging in an implant. Also don't stop training when clone jumping. These are extra mouse clicks that serve no purpose whatsoever. Also, if you have a skill training and try to train a skill on another character on the same account, give us the option to pause the training on the other character.
If you understood implant mechanics you'd know these "extra clicks" aren't useless. If your skill didn't stop when you clone jump you could jump to a body with +5 implants, start training a long skill, and then jump back to a combat clone the next day and still continue to train with the +5 bonus.
Pro tip: If you get podded while training a skill, that skill will finish training at the speed of whatever implants you had in at the time, even though your new body has no implants. If you stop or change the skill it will train at the speed of whatever implants you have in your current body. (IE none in a fresh clone.)
It's funny you should mention that, because CCP fixed that "bug" a few patches back. If you've got implants, and you get podded, you no longer train the skill at the implant-cloned rate, the reason I'm annoyed that we still have to manually pause and resume our skills is specifically because CCP went out and removed a feature in the game that made things much more simple with regards to pvping with implants, without using the exact same mechanic that they had just introduced to make installing implants or jumping clones a little easier. |

Something needed with drones: Reconnect to lost drones
Getting disconnected is bad enouogh, but coming back to find your flight of T2 ogres getting ****d, and the most you can do is slowboat your way within 2.5km to scoop them up is teh suk. Add a button on the drone interfacing window, "reconnect to lost drones."

I just wanted to say: /sign.
I am running for CSM5 2010 on a platform that is exactly parallel to this entire thread: "Fix the Little Things First." There are so many little things that could be done that do not completely alter the game or balance, that would greatly improve our day-to-day gameplay, tighten it, hone it, make it more efficient AND deep at the same time. The more little things, the better. Synergy is the key word.
I've been keeping a word doc for about a year now of little suggestions like this I've gotten from players, it's up to 4pgs now, single spaced. It's such a big deal to so many people I decided to run for CSM to advocate this large underground voice.
While talking to corpmates about my platform, I was linked to your thread as having fantastic ideas that are directly parallel to my platform. I'm so glad you've championed this thread. Great Minds do think alike. I love all your ideas, and will absorb them into my campaign, and delegation should I be elected. I love so many of the ideas posted following on this thread also.
For a small sample of the issues I've put forward already: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1306978
I encourage all of you, if you truly do value these little things, this is your chance to actually get these things accomplished! CCP has now given the CSM direct involvement in prioritizing the development log. Vote for me, I'm your man to 'get the little things done first!'
If you have any other suggestions you've been brainstorming, or have any questions of me, please feel free to contact me. Seeing as you have such a strong voice and are respected for this idea, I would love to have your vocal support.
Vote Cinori Aluben CSM5 2010!

I totally agree with all the author of this thread wrote. Awesome job to bring these really blatantly obvious features up in one list. Whoever, will be CSM should look at this thread !

Good idea genius, so when we are experiencing lag and ctrl click the same guy twice we'll unlock him? You've obviously never been outside of Pator. Alternatively, shift + click could do that.

Blatantly obvious: Align != Align and fly towards it
In some cases it may just be a cosmetic thing, in some other (RR) cases it just sucks to get out of range while being ready to WTFO.

On that note:
Make a gangwarp WAIT FOR EVERYONE TO ALIGN BEFORE WARP so that it really is a gangwarp, not a frigging exploded matryoshka warp. If only the Commander knows where to warp (mission space, safespot, etc), no-one else can align to be ready for warp.
And on that note: Allow bookmarks to display as a bracket so you can align to a safespot.

You are aware that pointing your ship in a particular direction has absolutely no effect on align time, right?

If it doesn't, it should. That's what I understand under "Aligning": pointing the ship into direction of destination to be ready to warp. No mention of "also start flying in that direction". --

I definitely agree with many of the things involved in this thread. Too many little things are overlooked and could possibly be easily implemented, much to the rejoicing of EVE's ever-growing playerbase. (Little work for big improvements, who wouldn't want to instate them?)
One of the first things that irked me about EVE (this was three years ago) were the lack of shots that actually missed (where's the whiffing shots?) and the lack of graphics that indicate direct hits and to what (shield/armor/struct). Doesn't it look kind of wierd to be flying a frigate aggressed by a whole mission's worth of rats to only see a rave party directed straight at a single point on that one ship? It looks, seriously, like the ship should be slowly melted away by that... And for shield hits, those kind of effects have been around for eons, but I can also see the strain it could place on clients (LOD guys?) to be hit by many different targets...
I think the most simple and immersion-helping combat effect would be missed shots. The amount by which a shot is missed and which direction could be derived by the game's original math for to hit and tracking speed and whatnot (there's math there already!). Perhaps glancing shots could glance! Perhaps that wrecking hit could actually hit dead center. It would look so much better for shots fired at your ship for them to act as they're typed out to the player in their log, or even with some randomimity. It would take a lot of the "I put on my robe and wizard hat" out of combat and could also, possibly even, give some statistical information to a player without requiring him or her to sift through rapidly scrolling logs to see how well one ship in a group is hitting him or her.
Also, what happened to the capacitor readout, srs! I have seen a percentage based and a #/# capacitor readout above the modules on the UI (that nice toggle-able one) in a lot of the public EVE screenshots, sent a petition wondering where the lost object was and learned that it was taken out, and was available on previous releases. I like not having to mouse over my cap to see a readout! Why would CCP remove a feature like that? I mean, why should they show my hull percentage if it isn't damaged most of the time? [sarcasm/]That should have been removed over the capacitor readout by which every pilot lives and dies (literally) by![/sarcasm]
PS. 'Station Conduits' or direct dumping to station would be awesome, even with a 30s, 60s, heck, even 5min delay before the items are reflected in station hangar... I agree with the poster who originally posted the idea; it's extremely irritating to wait for station enviro to load, just to drag'n'drop and wait for undock and blackscreenofdeath. Hence, can mining.
There's my attempt at a constructive post that is not merely a rant, but serves some kind of convoluted dual-purpose reflecting a combination of rage and blatantness.

If it hasn't been mentioned already, point 6, I think it is (hangar items divided by type, specifically all 'slot' (module) items are least set aside in different areas) is already possible.
Just open your asset window when you're in a station. There's a 'station' tab, and you can view items by categories -- ships, ammunition, modules, and a few others, iirc.
I don't use it much, but it is there.

How about a multi-sell interface with a column list(eg value, % of local market, tick box's to yes/no - like the reprocessing one). Gah selling tons of loot drives me nuts haha.

This might be nitpicky but;
Change the name of Smartbombs to Pulse Emitters, for they are neither smart, nor a bomb.
Then implement a player-guided missile that can be fired from a capturable station or a POS, which can also do local warps, to break up system camps. THAT would be a smartbomb. ------------------------------------ I like long walks, a good book before bed, and human entrails served cold with a side order of scrap metal. |
