Edited by: Shintai on 27/04/2009 10:36:48 2-3x astroids, perhaps 4-5x veldspar astroids.
We have the same astroid sizes and spawn rates since 2003 with 6000 players online. But today we got over 50000 players online.
In the same time I would also nerf rat loot. So the majority of minerals didnt have to come from there.
This would put trit down around 2isk and boost the other more highend ores. Hence also encourage the pursuit of both grav sites and lowsec/0.0. Gravsites today with huge jaspet roids etc is a joke... --------------------------------------

Let me correct that for you
Step 1: Go to W-space Step 2: Scan down a grav site Step 3: faint at the size of the Arkanor, Bistot and Crokite roids Step 4: ??? (wtf I cant pay that!!!) (Sh*t he is killing the other ships, pop!! oooh how did I get here in the station?) Step 5: Loss
WH is for groups sleepers dont get you the players will, it is 0.0 after all you dont go down to Delve and start mining and think no one will notice me

Researchers don't have to wait? Have you looked around for research slots lately? Sounds like you haven't. They are ALL occupied. Only way to get some research done in any effecient amount of time is to setup your own pos. ==================================================

We were told quite awhile ago as exploration was added that all belts would be moved to this system ( exploration placement ) and the new scanning set was going to be added for miners to find these belts. Slowly the road blocks have been moved one by one. But they cant just switch over messing up all of the miners, so they have to ease you into it. If you're a dedicated miner and havent got the hanging of probing, you should relly take a look at it. Despite what people seem to whine about it's super easy once you figure it out. And well, if you dont get it, hire someone who does.
They cant add new systems then just place more ore in the belts, these new systems need to be eased into the economy and the effect tested. Once they are balanced, they can then start moving the exsiting belts over.
Now, stop whining, there's plently of veld, you might have to fight for it, but thats not a bad thing. Leave the high sec belts to the n00bs in their frigates and industrials. Most people will read this thinking it's part of my post, when its actually my sig :P

Directional scanner gives you 100% protection against this, no-one can go from entering system to warping on you with less than a minute of combat probes in system. That's more than enough time to get out (Protip: that doesn't mean warping straight back to the HICtor bubbled hisec hole). I'm sorry you can't play eve afk...

CCP shoudl add Super density Veldspar to 0.0. With 100% increased yield over normal verldspar.
That would help balance the ratio of value between minerals and make macro mining in high sec less of "the only viable source of tritanium".

CCP should add proper missioning agents, who get you to some non-scanneable place, an awesome plex with just an only veldspar rock sized like a planet... activates Survey Scanner II, omg its got 10billion units of veldspar!!
Then CCP should release a Expanded Cargohold III which increases your cargohold by 1billion m3 (no matter what ship you in) and Modulated Strip Miner III which should do no less than 1million m3/min per module.
And obviously no rats spawning

I approve of this. Also, give us exhumer-seeking missiles that can be fired from anywhere within the region. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

In my single hulk, I can almost always mine Veld. I can mine it all weekend, and for the few hours a night I play on weekdays. Yes, in high sec I have to switch targets every cycle or two, but there's always another rock to mine.
I'm not convinced that CCP needs to make your 3 account mining ops easier to semi-afk. I'd also suggest that having 3 accounts makes travel a drag, and you aren't getting around as much as other miners.
I hope you get your way though, because at the point where CCP caters to a 3 account miner, I'm going to be able to get even MORE housework done semi-afk mining on a single account.

Originally by: Mr Minmatard Most of the asteroids, if you can even find them as most are mined out, pop without getting one full cycle. your cycle ends, the roid pops, and you realize that it finished getting all of the ore out of that rock before your cycle was even over so you wasted time.
Tip: Use a mining timer like EVE Miner Timer

but yeah you are true, mission runners got *unlimited* rats and resources (bounty, loot, salvage) while miners not.
They should increase the number of roids, at the expense of its size. For example, it would be great to get 1000x veldspar rocks with random sizes between 1k and 5k so:
- You get rid of 90% macrominers profit - afk mining gets highly punished - you need to use your brain, about WHEN to stop the miners and when to engage, in order to manage your capacitor and ore-cycle maximization

Smaller asteroids would be a nerf to barges and their 3 minute cycle strip miners. Taking the most boring (to most players) and lowest paying profession and also making it the most tedious profession will turn Eve into Missioners-online.
Eve thrives by having activities that require different levels of attentiveness. If you're going to make miners micromanage their gameplay many are going to leave the game or go to something that pays better.
Further, your idea doesn't provide any reward for the increase in effort. Their pay per hour doesn't increase for the added toil. Just because there is MORE Veldspar doesn't mean they can mine any more in an hour than they can today.

Mining suggestion:
First, find a system with at least 15 asteroid belts and 1 station, in security sector between 0.8 and 1.0. Use this website to search all systems for a suitable match.
Second, get a program to target asteroids and cycle your mining turrets every 60 seconds. When a GM asks you "wtf? *****s?! are you macroing?!?!", turn said program off, and say "Nooooooooo. I don macro < happy face >."
Yours truly, Public Consultant.

CCP thought it was a big deal when they changed to looks of the roids. With that kind of mentality it doesn't matter how long you or I hold our breath, we're still screwed.
