Good question.
Well, positive Jove standings will accumulate automatically through derived standings by completing Event Agent missions for most of the major Empire factions. The same principle also applies for gaining negative derived standings.
http://www.eve-wiki.net/index.php?title=Standings#Standing_Relationships
The 'In-Game Inter-Faction Relationships' graph is read from the top down. The 'Derived Inter-Faction Standing Modifier' graph is read from left to right.
Hope this info helps.

Well, I decided to find out the total amount of COSMOS agents currently available including the Faction ship offer agents. I left out the 2 CONCORD Agents that give the 'special' 1 time mission offer for security status increase and the Epic Arc Agents.
Here are the stats I found:
Total amount of COSMOS Agents = 160
Faction Totals Amarr = 32 agents Ammatar = 2 agents Caldari = 49 agents (7 no Faction Standing increase) Khanid = 1 agent Total = 84 (7 no Faction Standing increase)
Gallente = 18 agents Minmatar = 35 agents (1 no mission offer, 6 no Faction Standing increase) ORE = 2 agents Sisters of Eve = 4 agents Thukker = 7 agents Total = 66 (7 no Faction Standing increase)
Guristas = 5 agents Angel = 5 agents Total = 10 agents
Total amount per Cosmos Constellation
Amarr Cosmos = 28 agents High Security - Araz constellation = 21 agents 21 Amarr
Low Security - Kador constellation = 7 agents 3 Amarr 2 Ammatar 1 Khanid 1 Caldari
Caldari Cosmos = 52 agents High Security - Okkelen constellation = 52 agents 42 Caldari (6 no Faction Standing increase) 5 Guristas 3 Angel 1 Minmatar 1 Amarr
(Amarr Agent located in Prison Stage of Guristas Plex in Otomainen System)
Gallente Cosmos = 26 agents High Security - Algintal constellation = 26 agents 16 Gallente 5 Thukker 3 Caldari 1 Angel 1 Ore
Minmatar Cosmos = 55 agents High Security - Ani constellation = 49 agents 30 Minmatar (1 no missions, 6 no Faction Standing increase) 7 Amarr 4 Caldari (1 no Faction Standing increase) 4 SoE 1 Gallente 2 Thukker 1 Angel
Low Security - Audesder System = 6 agents 4 Minmatar 1 Gallente 1 ORE
As you can see the amount of agents for each Empire Faction definitely needs to be balanced. |

Just wanted to post an update of my stats.
Empire Standings - Modified (Base): Amarr Empire +8.02 (+7.52), Caldari State +7.50 (+6.87), Ammatar Mandate +7.26 (+6.57), Khanid Kingdom +6.75 (+5.94), The Interbus +5.13 (+3.92), Gallente Federation +4.48 (+3.10), Minmatar Republic +4.24 (+2.80), Concord Assembly +2.56 (+0.70),
Social Skills: Social lv 5 Connections lv 5 Fast Talk lv 5 Diplomacy lv 5 Negotiation lv 5
Tutorial, Career, Circle Agents Completed: All Empire Factions
Data Center Tags completed: Minmatar = All Angel Tags Gallente = All Serpentis Tags Caldari = All Guristas Tags Amarr = All Blood Tags Ammatar = All Sansha Tags
Epic Arcs Completed: Level 1 Sisters Of Eve = 7x (3x Minmatar, 2x Amarr, 2x Gallente) Level 4 Amarr = 3x Level 4 Caldari = 1x Level 4 Gallente = 2x (active) Level 4 Minmatar = 3x
Cosmos Agents Completed: All Empire Factions = level 4 and lower (4 agents left)
Special Agents Completed (Security Status): Christer Fuglesang = Concord Jeremy Tacs = Concord
Security Status: +5.85
All the main Faction standings were actually well above +6.00 after I had completed an equal amount of level 4 agents per Faction. As you can see, Minmatar and Gallente took a large hit due to Amarr and Caldari having more level 4 Cosmos Agents.
Anyway, I'm working the Epic Arcs right now to re-balance my standings. I still have 4 more Empire level 4 Cosmos Agents left to complete. After I complete those, I'll then run the Epic Arcs a few more times to build up a buffer zone before I start working the Pirate Event Agents.
As always, I'll keep you all updated on my stats and various steps in 'The Plan' to complete all Event Agents available in this game.

I started doing the Plan, and I noticed a strange thing. As far as I know, COSMOS agents only check faction standing to determine if they're giving you their missions or not. After having done the level 1 COSMOS agents in Caldari, I went over to the agent, Retin Ariato and accepted her first mission. Then I realized a few minutes later: "Whoa, how could this happen?" Because, you see, she is a level 2 COSMOS agent, but when I accepted the mission, my Caldari faction standing was not above 2.00 (which as to my understanding is required for a level 2 COSMOS agent), it was somewhere along the lines of 1.60ish... (modified by Connections skill of course) I checked my Wiyrkomi Corporation standing as well (she is an agent of that corp) but it was not above 2.00 either. Finally I checked my direct standing with her, but obviously it was not above 2.00, it was a meager 1.3 I also checked if the player corp my character is in, might have better standings with her or Caldari, but no "luck" there either.
So, I'm curious how could I accept a level 2 COSMOS agent mission if my standings were nowhere near the supposedly required 2.00
Has this been changed recently maybe? Has anyone else experienced something similar? |

I thought it might be helpful to someone, so I decided to post here my progress reports while working the Plan, so everyone can see how it works step-by-step and the topic gets a free on-topic bump now and then, too. :-) Mind you, my starting the Plan was not "perfect", because I dabbled in Gallente COSMOS before deciding a few days ago to start working the Plan seriously.
So, let's see the starting statistics: Level 1 Gallente COSMOS agents done I also did the SOE epic arc once, choosing Gallente at the end. Level 1 Caldari COSMOS agents done. One Level 2 Caldari COSMOS agent done (I accepted her mission just before I decided working on the plan). I also did some missioning for various agents in the past, depending on wherever I may have roamed. I tried avoiding though to accept missions going against Empire factions, with more or less success. The result of all this is that Gallente - Minmatar became my "positive" factions and Amarr - Caldari my "negative" factions. I never did go below -2.00 on either of them though, so I'm free to travel anywhere in Empire space and starting the Plan was no problem at all. Since I'm currently based in Caldari space and Caldari standing was the least negative, I started working the Plan with Caldari a few days ago and as per the description I started with the first 5 career agents.
1st update (05 February 2013) Skills: Connections, Diplomacy, Negotiations, Social Gû¦ all are at Level 3
Empire standings after all 5 career agents are done in Jouvulen. (Base / Modified by Skill)
Amarr Empire -1.02 / 0.3024 Caldari State 0.89 / 1.9832 Gallente Federation 0.48 / 1.6224 Minmatar Republic 1.05 / 2.124 Ammatar Mandate 0.2 / 1.376 Khanid Kingdom 0.5 / 1.64 The Interbus 1.07 / 2.1416
2nd update (07 February 2013) Skills: Connections, Diplomacy, Negotiations, Social Gû¦ all are at Level 3
Empire standings after all 5 career agents are done in Uitra. (Base / Modified by Skill)
Amarr Empire -0.58 / 0.6896 Caldari State 1.6 / 2.608 Gallente Federation 0.06 / 1.2528 Minmatar Republic 0.88 / 1.9744 Ammatar Mandate 0.78 / 1.8864 Khanid Kingdom 1.06 / 2.1328 The Interbus 1.25 / 2.3 |

Larenon en Marland, that's interesting to say the least. I'm not sure what the situation is pertaining to that. Maybe it was due to a bug or quite possibly you just miss-read your Faction standing when you accessed that agent. Anyway, it's an error that's definitely in your favor. Sorry I can't give you a better answer.
I'd like to point out that having Faction standing (modified) above -2.00 allows access to agents above level 1. You can freely travel through Empire space as long as you maintain Faction above -5.00 standing. If not, NPC Navy will attack.
Well, it looks like 'The Plan' is definitely helping your Faction standings. To get the best standing gain possible for completing the Event Agent missions, train up Social skill to level 5 asap. Connections skill trained up will make it easier to access higher level agents.
Thank you very much for posting and I hope you have continued good luck working 'The Plan'.

Another +1 bump to the plan.
btw: do you even mention FW as a way to increase standing?
In addition... if someone wants to JUST launch a POS, it's fastest to go for Ammatar standing by running amarr missions. They have a +11.25 standings, so they like you more than Amarr when you do a mission!
Everyone else is +10 only
(Altho remember, there's no + to doing the Sisters of Eve Epic if you decide Ammatar is for you.)

J'Ribs,
Thanks for the bump. Always good to see that.
As for mentioning Factional Warfare, yes the standing gain is excellent but it also kills the opposing Faction Standings at the same time. The main purpose of 'The Plan' is to gain and maintain positive standing with all Empire Factions which is why I don't mention FW.
'The Plan' is more of a guide which can be customized to fit each players specific situation. Some players just need to maintain standings above -5.00 to freely travel throughout high security systems while other players may want to get a specific Faction above -2.00 standing for access to higher level agents. Still other players may use 'The Plan' to gain high Faction standings in order to anchor a POS in high security. Then there's players like me who just want to complete all Event Agents available in this game.
Anyway, thanks again for posting.

DMC,
First, thanks so much for this plan you developed. It has really helped my other character with raising his Gallante status. He went from -2.45 to + 0.14 in just a weekend. You've helped me in the past with other forum "issues" I had in my younger days which I really appreciated.
Now to my dilemma. My standings for this pilot(which does missions and exploring)are as follows:
Gallante: 7.30 6.78 Minmater: 6.71 6.08 Amarr: -4.95 -6.99 Caldari: -3.21 -5.01 Sec Status: 5.0023
What part of the plan could I benefit to raise my Amarr and Caldari standings without losing standing with the other two? The reason for this is I want to use this pilot to put up a POS in High Sec for my Indy pilot to run. At the moment by raising my Gallante standings a bit more I could pick from .5,.6, or .7 systems. And I don't want to jepordize that working on Amarr and Caldari standings. Thx in advance for any advise you could give.

Epic arcs, repeatable once every 3 months. Everything else has a derived standing hit towards opposing faction. Standings Improvement Service https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=19454 |

Thanks for the compliment and positive review. It's always good to see that. Yeah, I remember those 'Issues' very well. It's definitely much better now due to CCP, ISD and CCL. I believe that problem will never again be an issue like it was before.
And if it does happen again, definitely know how to deal with it, right?
Now on to more pressing matters.
As for the dilemma of raising your negative standings without affecting your positive standings, start training Diplomacy to level 5 asap. While that's training, complete the Sisters Of Eve level 1 Epic Arc for Amarr. Hopefully your Social skill is already trained up which increases the standing gain for mission completion. That should give you a bit of breathing room, at least for a little while.
The next step is a big one, basically it's complete the level 4 Amarr and Caldari Epic Arcs. Unfortunately right now you don't have the required standings for access. The easiest way to access the starting agents is get their Corporation standing above +5.00 along with Faction above -2.00 standing.
However, to get that standing you're gonna have to work 'The Plan'.....
Anyway, that's about it. Once you have gained the Corporation standing to access the lv 4 Epic Arcs, all you have to do is maintain the Faction above -2.00 standing. Then whenever needed, just run the appropriate Epic Arc. The only other fast option available is to work the Data Center Agents for both Amarr and Gallente, more or less at the same time.
Hope this info helps and thanks for posting.

What is the standing increase for a pirate faction (gurista or angel) if the arc is started through an empire agent (caldari or gallente for gurista, minmatar or amarr for angels)? |

Pisov viet,
That's a good question.
The Faction standing gain for completing the level 3 Pirate Epic Arc's is the same no matter which starting agent is used. Those Empire Agents are basically 'Double Agents', working for both Empire and Pirate Factions. With no Social skill trained, the base amount of Faction Standing gained for completing the level 3 Pirate Epic Arc's is +30.00% increase.
The 3 starting agents for each Pirate Epic Arc are set up to enable the player easy access, nothing more. +3.00 standing is required for access. If using Corporation standing for access, the Faction must be above -2.00 standing.
http://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/Epic_mission_arcs#Rewards
Hope that info helps. Good luck to you and thanks for posting.

And the adventure continues! :-)
Update 3
What's done so far?
Sisters of EVE Epic Arc (Caldari) x2 Caldari Career Agents (all 15) Caldari Circle Agents Caldari Data Center Agents Gû¦ Graduation Cert Missions (all 3) Gû¦ Copper Tags (all 9 handed in) Gû¦ Graduation Cert follow up Missions (The Celestial Imperative from Aviekko Ta and the Valuable Records from Kikko Roisen) Gû¦ Courier Missions Level 1 Caldari COSMOS Agents Level 1 Gallente COSMOS Agents
Skills: Connections, Diplomacy, Negotiations, Social Gû¦ all are at Level 3
Faction standings after all of the above (base standing followed by modified standing, amount of change since last update in parentheses)
Amarr Empire 0.43 (Gû¦ 0.59) 1.5784 (Gû¦ 0.5192) Caldari State 3.68 (Gû¦ 1.42) 4.4384 (Gû¦ 1.2496) Gallente Federation -0.82 (Gû+ -0.48) 0.4784 (Gû+ -0.4224) Minmatar Republic 0.49 (Gû+ -0.21) 1.6312 (Gû+ -0.1848) Ammatar Mandate 2.07 (Gû¦ 0.74) 3.0216 (Gû¦ 0.6512) Khanid Kingdom 2.31 (Gû¦ 0.72) 3.2328 (Gû¦ 0.6336) The Interbus 1.55 (Gû¦ 0.13) 2.564 (Gû¦ 0.1144)
Observations:
Circle Agents: more than one Circle Agent gave Caldari Faction Standing, not just one. The missions that gave faction standing increase were: Tobacco Run, From Development To Publishing, To Create Silicate Glass You Need..., For The Army as evidenced by this screenshot.
Data Center Agents: to complete all of the pirate tag missions of the Data Center Agents (Levels 1 through 4) for all of the 4 empire factions, we need 936 pcs of various pirate tags. At current Jita prices, these tags require an investment around the ballpark of 2 billion ISK. 200 pcs out of these 936 pcs of pirate tags are responsible for 84% of this money. These are: Guristas Brass and Bronze Tags; Blood Bronze and Gold Tags; Serpentis Brass and Gold Tags; Angel Brass Tags; Sansha Brass, Bronze and Gold Tags. These can be bought for about 1,6 billion ISK, while the other 736 pcs of tags needed can be bought for about 300 million ISK. As you can see, the biggest money dump is required mainly for tags that are collected by the lower level agents. For now I'm of the opinion that there is no way in bloody hell that I'll shell out 1,6 billion for the expensive tags. I'll only buy the somewhat cheaper ones. With a cost of 300 million I can live with, but 1,6 billion?? Seriously? No way. So in this regard I think I'll not be able to follow the Plan to the letter, but I hope it will not "unbalance" it that much, but we'll see.
The Data Center Graduation Certificates all send you to the same agent, Aviekko Ta (as described in the Plan). She gives you a 5 part mission chain. On the 4th mission of this chain you meet another event agent, Kikko Roisen, who gives you a 2 part mission chain. The last missions of both of these chains give faction increase. The mission Kikko Roisen gives you, specifically warns you in the description that you will lose face with the Caldari State if you complete its objective. However this in fact is not true, there are no standing losses incurred at all, you only get faction increase even though you need to destroy Caldari Navy ships in the mission (see this screenshot for proof Gû¦ the standing losses in this screenshot were due to the 2 storyline missions the Sisters of EVE gave me during the course of my recent run of the SOE Epic Arc).
Next up: the Amarr Career Agents and beyond. Until my next update of my adventures with the Plan: Fly safe! :-) |

Larenon en Marland, that's a very impressive reply you posted. I'm glad 'The Plan' is working for you. As I've said before, it can be customized and worked to fit each players specific situation.
That being said, I'm going to address this part of it.

Until my next update of my adventures with the Plan: Fly safe! :-) The Social skill should definitely be trained up, especially since it increases the amount of standing gained for completing missions. Next would be the Connections skill which raises your current positive standing enabling easier access to higher level agents. After that I'd probably raise Negotiation to increase the ISK reward and then Diplomacy to raise the negative standings.
Since I don't know what your actual plan entails or what your goal is, I will go with the premise that you want to be positive with all Empire Factions. After looking at your standings, probably be a good idea to run some Gallente Event Agent missions due to Caldari standing being so high.
Now about having multiple Circle Agents in the chain give out Faction standing increase, gratz. Maybe they were changed recently. Either that or it's due to a bug. If it is a bug, then the error is definitely in your favor.
As for Data Center tags, yes they are indeed expensive.
However, to get the best price for them, ask friends in Corp chat if they have some available. Most players will have a few sitting in various stations and will sell them for a very reasonable price. Also have friends do a price check in various regions. Of course don't forget to check public contracts as well. Another thing to remember is to check all rat wrecks. Usually there will be a couple of tags to collect. May not be what you're actually looking for but they can always be sold to help pay for the tags you need.
Once again, thank you very much for posting and definitely keep us updated.

First, I'd like to say that this is a fantastic guide and one I hope to put into full effect. However...
My character has been a Very Naughty BoyGäó (i.e. sub -5.0) in the past and is not in a very good situation at the moment: sub 5mil in total assets and wealth with a single Reaper and misc equipment in other hangars around the galaxy. That single Reaper is in-station at a .7 system and the chances of getting away safely are very slim. I've been able to set up a clone in a near-by 0.3 system that I'll probably end up reanimating to in the near future.
What are my options here?

Well, I'll try to help out as best I can.
Your situation isn't as bad as it seems, Rookie ship's automatically spawn, free of charge, for capsuleers who dock their pod in any NPC station where they have no ships. Also if you haven't completed all of the Career Agents for your 'Friendly' Faction (15 agents available per Faction), you can get the various Tech 1 Frigates from them for free.
Dag Tolar wrote:What are my options here?
DT It would be very helpful if I knew exactly what your standings are and what Social skills you have trained.
Anyway, train up Diplomacy skill asap. Hopefully that will get you up above -5.00 Faction standing so you won't be attacked by Navy NPC's. If not, you can just travel to 'Friendly' space in your pod, dock in any NPC station and get another Rookie ship for free.
Now about the Faction standings:
Hopefully one of the 'Unfriendly' negative Empire Factions is above -5.00 standing. If so, start working the Event Agents listed in 'The Plan' for that Faction. The derived standing increase you gain will eventually raise the lowest / worst Faction standing and when it get's above -5.00 standing, switch over and start working their Event Agents.
If all 'Unfriendly' Empire Factions are still -5.00 or lower, find a Corporation belonging to the 'Unfriendly' Empire Factions located in your 'Friendly' positive Factions space. Complete missions (16 + Storyline) for a Level 1 Agent (available regardless of standings) until one of the negative 'Unfriendly' Empire Factions is above -5.00 standing, then work 'The Plan'.
Sorry I couldn't be more specific. Hope this reply helps you and good luck working 'The Plan'.

cinefilul, thanks for posting.
Lucky thing you included the Agents name, made it easy to find out you're talking about the Circle Agents.
After looking at the Amarr Circle Agents I think you might be mistaken about not getting the Faction standing increase. Hopefully you started the Circle Agents with the initial starting agent - Ain Ikani.
Korini Nakan is the 3rd Circle Agent. The Faction Standing increase is gained from the 2nd Circle Agent - Ilia Abazen - for the mission 'The Carthum Executive'. I'm thinking you might have already completed it and just don't remember it.
Open character sheet - select 'Standings' - 'Liked by' tab - right click and 'Show Transactions' on Amarr Empire.
The mission name should be listed with date, time and amount of increase gained. If it's not listed, 'Show Transactions' on the Corp - Carthum Conglomerate. If it's not listed there, hopefully you haven't done the mission yet. However, I think the list only goes back for 1 year which might be another reason why the mission isn't listed.
Show info on the agent and check standings tab in the agent info box. If there's a positive standing listed, then you've already completed mission for that agent. If there's a negative standing, then you failed the mission. If neutral standing of 0.00 is listed, then you haven't worked for that agent.
The only other explanation is a bug.
As for your question, you can try these three steps :
1. Talk to that specific agent again. 2. Start the chain over again with the first agent. 3. File a petition in-game.
Good luck to you.

Gratz on getting an answer.
However, I'm a bit confused.
Is this the agent and mission you completed in 2011?
Quote:The Faction Standing increase is gained from the 2nd Circle Agent - Ilia Abazen - for the mission 'The Carthum Executive'. If so, then yeah, there's no need to continue with the Amarr Circle Agents since the Faction standing increase can only be gained once.
If you're referring to the 3rd agent in the circle - Korini Nakan - he doesn't matter. The Circle Agent - Ilia Abazen - is the one to check.

Hi cinefilul,
I thought you said the mission - 'The Carthum Executive' - was completed in 2011. If it's listed in the Corporation transactions, then it should also be listed in the Faction transactions.
If not, then the first thing to do is go talk to the agent - Ilia Abazen - and see if that mission is offered to you.
After that the only other option I can think of is to file a petition in game. CCP can easily check the info and or have the agent offer the mission if you haven't already completed it.
The actual amount of Faction standing increase from that mission is rather small so you're not missing a crucial amount of standing gain if you're not allowed to work that mission for some unknown reason. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Thx very very much for your work. It is really great what you have done here! Amazing!
I have one question though (i didn't find exact answer):
1. Career agents: Do they still give standings? I think I heard that it is not anymore the case. (also is there a way to check if I already done some of these missions in the past?)
2. If yes, how to access them? Should I go to the agent systems and do it for every race in every system listed (i see that you listed them on wiki page) or should I access them through the help window (in that case will I get only my faction career missions or it will be also available through help window for other factions)?
Thx in advance and sorry for noob questions.
Ahh one more question.
Epic arcs for major factions that can be done every 3 months. Do they generate negative standing toward opposite factions?
Thx agan.

IgiK,
You're welcome and thank you for the compliments. No need to be sorry for asking questions, Information is King and Conversation is it's Queen.
1. Career Agents give a Faction standing increase for completing their mission series. If no Faction standing gain is received, file a petition in-game - F12 key.
The best way is to check info on the agent. In the agent info box select the standings tab. If it shows a neutral standing from the agent towards you, then you haven't done any missions for that specific agent. You can then cross reference that agent by checking your own standings section in the character sheet and see if the agent is listed. You can also select 'Show Transactions' on the agent.
The easiest way to know if you've already worked for those Agents is talk to them. Of course this entails a lot of traveling and be prepared to complete their missions if offered.
NOTE: Talking or accessing agents use to be the norm but changes / bugs within the past couple of years has now made it risky to just talk to Event Agents. There's a possibility of being locked out from access due to declining the offer as well as forgetting to accept the offer within a week.
The most definite way to know is from CCP via in-game petition. Use this option as a last resort after first checking standings and then talking to agent, especially if you think you've never accessed that agent.
2. The 'Show Career Agents' option in the F12 Help window will list Career Agents that are located near your current location. That might not be beneficial to your specific situation as it doesn't list all of the Career Agents available to you. The Evelopedia page - Career Agents - is good to use since it lists all Career Agents and their locations.
I'm not sure but the in-game 'Agent Finder' could be another option to view all Career Agents that are available to you.
Epic Arcs - The only negative standings incurred is from aggression for ship kills. There's only a few negative hits and the amount is very small when compared to the positive standing gained for completing them. Being able to complete them every 3 months makes them a very worthwhile option to pursue.
I hope this answers your questions and thank you for posting.
