Edited by: bomberrocks on 11/03/2009 08:07:50 Instead of moaning and whining, I thought CCP would be happy to get some praise once in a while.
I love the skill queue. It was the single biggest thing that ****ed me off most about Eve before. It's not perfect now, but it's a damn sight better than having to waste time logging on twice a day just to switch some 3 hour skills.
The new fittings interface is much better than the first abomination they had out on SiSi. I don't like the waste of space with the redundant ship in the ring, but saving ship fittings is almost too good to be true.
The new mission interface is much much better than the old one. It's nice to be able to decline a mission and automatically get a new one, which you can decline in 4 hours again.
The new coat of rust on some Minnie ships looks very good. I am very happy about this as my Minnie ships were beginning to look a bit too clean and polished, and that did worry me.
The new salvager (T2 yay) and tractor beam effects and sounds are very nice, as is the new warping effect. Much better.
Thanks CCP. For once an update brings improvements.

So, thanks CCP!

I'm very pleased with how this new expansion worked out.
Love the skill queue and the attribute remap (yay after 2 years charisma is no longer my highest attribute!)
Graphics are gorgeous and run much smoother than i expected.
Only downside is the new warping effect ****s my FPS from 60-100 to 18-22.
But all in all i love the Apocrypha expansion.

Also.. Thank you very much CCP.. Love the new content and GFX..
still a few kinks to work out, but at the end of the day dam fine job and I know CCP will be working on fixing them asap.
I hate seeing posts like "Ahhh this does not work. CCP you are crap, I am so mad I am going to throw something out the window" chill out. make me wonder how long it is before someone gets that mad that they burst a blood vessel in their head..
You cannot be ground breaking and pushing the frontiers of gaming and be 100% perfect. Things go wrong for some people. its **** I know but ask nicely and you will get help much quicker than having a rant
So from me a big thanks to CCP for making this epic game even better...

As commendable that this politeness is, do you not think that $11-15 dollars a month is thanks enough?
I agree though - thanks CCP =D

I know what you mean, but a lot of hard work has gone into this and its nice to actually heat people say/post "Thank you"
I get paid to do a job. I am a Systems Support Manager and something its nice when people come up to me and say thanks to me and my team for a good job. I could say "what you thanking me for. I get paid to do it". Thats a **** attitude to take,
so no I don't think its enough....

Edited by: Wubinator on 11/03/2009 09:24:11 I agree that some praises should be given too. I've only played for 30 minutes or so before it was time to go to bed last night. But I had some jaw-dropping moments!
First of all the skill queue is excellent. And the 24-hour period is a great way IMHO of providing a queue but still keep players logging on from day to day :) .... (you will rule our lives as said on FanFast)
The fittings screen I really like, it's nice to instantly see the effect in graphics as well when adding/removing new turrets
I'm glad that the details are shown right away in the agent conversation window! Saves us a mouse click every time :)
I love the draggable ship information circle when in flight ... I can finally make my chat windows wider without being in the way of the ship info.
The real jaw dropping came when I saw the new graphics. Even on my shaders 2.0 card it's still awesome and with a decent framerate ... I'm happy.
I'm also glad with the new sounds. I finally have the idea my X-Fi soundcard is being put to good use. Some sounds still takes some getting used to, but overal I'm happy.
Two thumbs up for CCP!

New expansion wins.
The whole game feels a lot more polished, more bespoke screens for things, rather than reused elements.
CCP were right to hype this one up.

Yeah thanks CCP and good job.
I'm a lot dissapointed in effects and mission arks, but that comes from my high expectations (yeah i am one of the quad core and 280GTX guys).
Everything else is just pure WIN. Been to 0.0 W-space with my corp mates. The general mood and atmosfere ? It's not generic, it didn't felt like a game, the conversations on VT were RP without ppl even realizing it :).
"They open fire on me *STATIC*, I have to warp ou *STATIC*, their weapons, they got *STATIC* weird weapons. Chewing throu my armor *STATIC* Cannot esca....."

Only got to play for an hour since I patched, but so far my feelings are very positive. Sure I havent seen everything yet so cant say its ALL good, but then its rare you can say that anyway.
Bits I love seen so far The stargate sequence of vanishing now is great New skins to stations look good too Salvager beam is nice to see Purple laser beams FTW The green text for damage youve done is easier to see. Not so keen bits when you slow down to nearly come out of warp now it looks like you are out of warp already. I used to know when to get ready for attacking and stuff but now its like Im ready and Im still in warp lol. Not a major issue for me though as its just a case of getting used to it or looking at the warp distance.
Worst thing - Im not keen on the new fitting screen for the lazers - you only visually see the crystal circle so dont know until you either hover over the icon or unload the ammo what gun you have there. Its a very minor thing though and doesnt impact gameplay for me at all.

Couldn't agree more the new expansion is ace, I love almsot all of it.
I do miss my funky scanning cloak effect though, maybe they should have kept that for cloaking and used the new/original effect for jumping.
And the the autodownloader patch thing was just wrong.
But other than that this expansion is full of win, well done CCP best patch ever (other than the autopatcher) ...

As someone who took a break for 2 years and now is finally getting back up to speed, this expansion is lovely.
I have some minor nits (not a fan of the new warp) but they are outweighed greatly by some awesome real changes.
The skill queue has been praised already, but it bears repeating - awesome! A GREAT system. We were joking in corp last night about wanting the 24 hour window to be longer, perhaps we need a third tier of learning skills to extend it out to a week or so... ...but it's lovely even if it never changes.
W-Space is fantastic...the whole concept, with the new scanner system, the Sleepers and ACTUAL DANGER! I love that the 2000+ new systems make no apologies about requiring effort to find, effort to exploit and are unforgiving of fools.
All in all, I'm very glad to be back and don't regret bailing on "other MMOs" to do so.

For the first time in over 2years, 0.0 space is scary again and actually feels like the unknown. Delayed local, unknown binary/triple starsystems filled with nebula , uncharted planets and belts, unknown rats!
Apocrypha rocks!
For us 'wannbe explorer' types, space has always been the final frontier. Finally here is an expansion that puts the unknown back into the game and goes some way towards making space both frightening and exciting again.
GJ CCP! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE TAKE THIS FURTHER. More unpredicatability is good
Some suggestions off the top of my head:
Moving wormholes that slowly drift in space so that bookmarks don't work
Podding in W-SPACE results in the loss of any bookmarks in that particular W-SPACE. If you wake up in a clone then it should have no memory of where you've just been thus forcing you to have to find that particular wormhole all over again.
Collapsing Wormholes have a chance to destroy ships that are passing through or too close when they die (hot damn, that would be cool!)
Space travel was always meant to be RISKY. Empire space (and Warp to 0km) removed far too much of that risk. We need to add it back into the game. W-space could be the way to do this.
The new scanner is awesome. Keep adding functionality to it please. Players should have to work to find stuff in space - it shouldn't be as easy as it is now.
Keep up the good work.
