Stop trying to make Eve like other MMOs... we play Eve exactly because it's different.
A "noob" with 10 mill sp can easily take down solo an older player with 60 mill sp. He just needs to be smart and use good tactics.
You say you want more sp to be able to use everything... well... 1 account isn't supposed to have it all. It isn't even unique for Eve. If you are that curious about other races, start a new account or buy a partially trained char from the forums.

Dear Sirs,
I really love the 911 model, however, in order to make it appeal to the masses I would like to make a few proposals:
- Please make it bigger, my whole family does not fit in. - Please make the trunk slightly bigger, so my mountain bike will fit in. - The engine is too powerful, in most countries people have to pay taxes for that and this turns off many customers who are forced to buy Korean cars. Furthermore a 90 hp engine will consume much less fuel than this 3.6 l monster with more than 300 hp. - The coupT shape is bad, make it a station waggon. - The tires of that car are too expensive, could you change the tire size to 195/50 16?
Sincerely yours,
H Lecter

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your proposals. Please feel free to buy a Korean car. We have a clearly defined target audience, and losers like yourself should indeed not come close to our wonderful cars.
Get lost & Best regards,
Porsche Customer Service
In other words:
GB2WoW! - And please let me have your stuff
I couldn't put it better myself....

Funny thing is that of 2 pages of this thread, the only one saying it is a good idea is you. Hmmm... I wonder what that means... ;)

I wonder how ppl in the WoW forums would react if someone posted a thread about "an awesome idea" to change their ep system to be skill based so the players gained ep even while they were offline.

Originally by: Tamahra goddamnit, are you to lazy to read my stuff or what. i said repeatedly, that there would be no change in the current system.
there would only be some additional bonus system where it gives those players who like that kind of playstyle the feeling they can actively accomplish something for their character-advancement.
Yes, I have read your thread and read your responses. So much to realize that you're not even consistent with your own idea. You started the thread whining about newer players not being able to catch up with the high sp players. So you gave this poor idea about how to give them a chance to catch up. Then a couple of replies later you suggest that the older players should have easier access to the "better rewards", by that killing your first argument about your entire concept.
It is very clear that you have played WoW a lot, like that game and now like Eve too. There is nothing wrong with that. But it is also very clear that you still havn't got what Eve is really about and wants Eve to have the features that you like so much in WoW. As I already told you before, Eve and WoW have different key features, and that difference makes us like Eve so much. If you fail to see that, you still havn't got what Eve is about.
There are several experienced Eve players giving you loads of good advices in this thread. But you are so busy trying to make our replies to a troll feast that you are even failing to see that.
Bottom line is: Even tho CCP has put in some features in game that allows you to grind your way to accomplish something, it is not what the game is about. Eve is only fully experienced when you share your online time doing stuff with your friends (corp mates) that is directly linked to other players. Maybe THAT is your problem.... finding good friends online to do some quality PvP with (PvP is not only fighting other ships).

The only way I'm gonna like this idea would be if these "skill dropping special rats" were only placed at the belts of lowsec systems. I would love to see some ex-WoW-grinders farming for sp in lowsec!

Originally by: Tamahra that was one thing that i was suggesting in the very beginning of this thread, hence the title "how to get more players into 0.0 / low sec"
Nope, you suggested some semi-safe places like wormholes. Afaik wh will be probable from highsec (from safety).
What I proposed was in the actual belts of lowsec. Where no one rats anyways...

Here's some enlightment for you:
If you have a good idea, you don't really need to keep defending it all the time. Check this very forum, there are loads of good ideas where ppl just agrees with them.
So far (3rd page of this thread) you are the ONLY one that has posted here saying that this idea is good.
Changing Eve's skill mechanics to allow ppl to grind 23/7 for more sp is completely against what Eve is about. If you keep playing Eve you will realize that this idea is just as stupid as implementing cave trolls on our asteroids.
