101. Wolf vs hawk/harpy , advice requested - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Edited by: TaluxA on 05/02/2011 09:43:59 Yeah, that's true about all the racial frigates. They're surprisingly well balanced at the moment (minus the dramiel ofc).

Maybe you should fit some tackle next time?

103. Firetail, useful? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
The firetail is kinda okay for soloing but it's outclassed by other ships like the dramiel and is probably the weakest of the navy faction frigates. To be honest you'll probably want a stiletto or jaguar depending on your gang size.

I'd feel pretty confident taking on a shieldcane in any tier 2 bc, especially in a drake.

The problem with this throax vs cane argument is who fights a cane with their thorax anyway?

106. Caldari PvP - in Warfare & Tactics [original thread]
Zach is right with what he's saying. You can fit up any ship and get kills. It's more about eft'ing a fit and thinking about what you can engage with it. For instance a moa can be fit out with autocannons and a medium neut to take on frigs (t1...

107. Where are the afterburners? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
There are deadspace afterburners if you're looking for better ones. They give you a better speed boost than the normal meta/t2.

108. Is Gallente really that bad? - in Warfare & Tactics [original thread]
Gallente frigates are good, but the larger hulls have some issues because of the state of medium/large blasters and rails at the moment. The best thing to do is really to look at the ships you want to fly and try to figure out what you can engag...

This is assuming you're fairly new and are out in lowsec looking for t1 frigs/ceptors to engage, which is why it's ab fit: [Incursus, New Setup 1] Damage Control II 200mm Reinforced Rolled Tungsten Plates I 1MN Afterburner II J5b Phased Prototyp...

110. MWD or AB - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Problem with the 'oh but what about a cane' argument is that most ab frigate pilots will never bother engaging in the first place if they see one hanging around. MWD frigates will try and make sure they never get within 70km of one. I haven't had...

111. MWD or AB - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
AB on a frigate is okay if you're in lowsec or more quiet regions of nullsec. AB only fits generally win in frigate duals, since those mostly occur at <9km. Against bigger hulls you can have a better chance, too, if you can warpin nice and clos...

112. Which race for an AF piloting PVP alt? Low SP requirement. - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Like most people are saying minmatar and gallente have the best selection of frigates. Minmatar requires less sp (no need for drones). If you fly frigs a whole lot then I'd suggest training both, since it opens up the dramiel and daredevil, which...

113. The Wolf or The Jaguar - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Pretty sure a wolf gets 10km falloff so both the wolf and jag will probably drive off a dramiel (assuming it's a dualprop). Jag might be able to hold onto it long enough to kill it.

114. The Wolf or The Jaguar - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
You seem pretty set on the jaguar. Anyway you're either trolling or just ridiculously single minded if you think the wolf doesn't do significantly more dps. Everything else you're saying is pretty much right.

115. The Wolf or The Jaguar - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
A wolf with a 200 plate and a meta dc can get 350dps with hail and no implants. The tank is fairly similar to a gank fit jaguar. Point is that a similarly fit wolf will always do significantly more dps than a jaguar, especially counting falloff....

116. The Wolf or The Jaguar - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
He's not wrong technically, if you fully gank fit the jaguar it'll do 250dps overheated, but it'll only have an 8.5k tank. The wolf will do 350ish with max gank. But he seems to be comparing a tanked wolf to a max dps jag, which is silly.

117. Too many ways of avoiding PVP - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I don't think Sun Tzu has anything to do with Eve at all. Actually I always thought people being unwilling to engage in relatively even fights ends up becoming a disadvantage for them. So many fights just don't happen because people have to wait ...

118. How do you become a FC? - in Warfare & Tactics [original thread]
Do some small gang and solo flying first so you get a really clear idea of what you can and can't engage with different ships and gang compositions. Also a really good FC knows what ranges to warp in and how to move their fleet around. A lot of c...

119. Hookbill - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
The point of dual webs on the hookbill is to dictate range. Against most other frigates the hookbill will be doing 150ish dps whilst holding its opponent at 8km-ish. Being able to squeeze a medium shield extender on and having pretty nice speed ma...

120. Stabber? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
The ruptue with a shield fit and speed rigs is mostly just better than the stabber - better range, tracking, damage, a proper dronebay and a medium neut. Yeah the stabber is a bit faster but it doesn't make up for all the other stuff. So I'd reall...
