1. Using Alt account to make some ISK? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Honestly, buy PLEX and sell them on the market. The money from the proceeds should keep you comfortably in ships for a very long time (well, unless your tastes are more extravagant than mine). In this way, you can focus on your combat skills and n...

2. Completely lost... - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Edited by: Mendolence on 28/04/2011 21:55:44 First, welcome to EVE. Second, you're in good company. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing, or supposed to be doing, for a good month or more. Heck, what am I saying, I still don't really know...

3. Long-term income generation - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
While it's possible to make 1B / month in high-sec, it's nothing that new players are going to fall into -- or even most veterans (or maybe it's just me?). You can generate a decent amount of "passive" income from PI, it still requires a fairly s...

4. Risk versus reward - low sec missions - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Edited by: Mendolence on 20/05/2009 00:35:06 To me it's a question of efficiency. Doing task X in low-sec is more inefficient than doing task X in hi-sec. If you don't want to get "ganked" in low-sec you have to take the necessary precautions....

5. Conned for my Retail ship + getting revenge [NOOBIE TIP] - in Crime and Punishment [original thread]
Edited by: Mendolence on 17/04/2009 18:32:07 This is the single weakest scam I've ever heard of. A freakin' shuttle? That's hilarious. A massive 5000 to 10k ISK payday!! Cha-ching!! I'm sorry for your loss but, honestly, I can't help but feel ...

6. So old and still so new - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
If you're shooting at small ships, your medium blasters are going to have one helluva time tracking them. When I got my first cruiser (Thorax) I did the exact same thing: fitted medium blasters and started running missions. I couldn't hit frigates...

7. Is the Salvage of the 0.4 Rats Worth It? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Absolutely. Pound for pound salvage is, generally speaking, worth more than loot -- in my experience anyway. Granted, there are those rare occasions when you'll find some "pay-day" loot, but it doesn't happen that often.

8. How long does it take to get 4million Skill Points? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
About 3 to 4 months. You could probably trim that down with a heavily optimized approach, but I'm not sure it's entirely worth it.

9. bottom of the pvp food chain? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
You're not at the bottom of the PvP food chain -- I am Seriously though, at this stage in the game the most important thing is picking your fights correctly. Unfortunately, that's only going to come with experience. For now, however, I'd stay ...

10. The First 30 Days - False Impressions and Boredom - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Ashen, Pick another game. You shouldn't have to convince yourself to enjoy any form of entertainment. If it works for you, great -- if it doesn't, no big deal, there's dozens of other games/past-times out there. Honestly, I get the impression th...

11. Buying Items at Another Station - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Keep in mind that it can take your assets windows upwards of five minutes to display any recently acquired / sold items. On numerous occasions I have also thought that I was experiencing a "buy bug" due to this.... but it turned out to not be the ...

12. Learning the basic's in mining - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
Mining doesn't really pay until you're in a barge (or better), but it's a great way to start off making a little ISK. It's not the best money in EVE, but it's surely one of the easiest. As others have mentioned, I'd start off with the "mining" fr...

14. Providence region, opinions? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Again, thanks for the info. I realize it's 0.0, but I'm having a hard time imagining that it could be any worse than the low-sec space I'm currently "living" in (vis-a-vis pirate activity). But, I've never been to 0.0, so I could be way off base....

15. Cruiser Outfitting & Role Questions In PvE - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
If you're running missions I'd probably stick with 150mm rails -- just so you can light up frigates w/o too much hassle. The other option is to go with medium guns and web lighter/smaller targets. Though, honestly, I prefer the light rails. Obvio...

18. Why are some prices so messed up? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
It may have simply been the market. Watch it / play it long enough and you'll see plenty of weird stuff. It may also be due to the fact that the Itty IV is, candidly, not worth purchasing. The Itty III can carry nearly as much (within 10 to 15%) ...

19. Moving Ships? - in EVE New Citizens Q&A [original thread]
1) Fly pod back and forth 2) Fly shuttle back and forth 3) Repackage ships and get 'em in a hauler. Note that you'll need quite a bit of space if you're dealing with anything larger than a destroyer.
