Besides the obvoius people will manipulate the data, most peoples uploads do not equal there downloads. Also You now know the real IP address of the other players which means you can intentianlly DOS, hack etc them trace them down in RL.

What I like best about this is pirates and war also can get minerals just by doing what they do which is blow each other up. Just have a hauler/salavager near by to pick up the scraps from the aftermath. It adds a whole new profit motive.
