escorts are pointless...as the average gate camp of well established pirates, epecily if this got implemented, would easily hit 30 or 40 people, in battleships... you're profit margins would dissipear FAST of you had to pay the escorts even just ...

all ships still have crews, you still need loaders, and gunners, and maintnence and engeneering etc.... the pod just reduces the BRIDGE crew to 1 :P not the entire crew ]

you know... roughly 50% of star systems in eve are unaccessable.. when you mine a piece of ore, it has respawns in a random star system thus, has a 50% chance of spawning somewhere it cannot be mined. someone REALY didnt think this through did...

simple realy... add a mineing turret tag to turrets.. basicly make it so combat vessels can only equip half their turrets with mineing lasers add frig/cruser/bb versions of the mineing ships.. Frig cost 100k to build, large cargo, 3 light turr...
