Greets,
Just got back, sold the officer fitted Golem to help corp projects, have 1-1.5 bil to play with.
I'm looking to bring a few mission builds down to lowsec, for both solo L4s and fleet L3s and L4s.
I'd like to fit a decent solo BS and perhaps an AF or HAC to support my fleet mates. Must be budget friendly since I'm expecting to loose one now and then.
I prefer shield tanking, missiles and drones.
I've been looking a lot at Rattlesnakes since they fit the bill nicely, anything else I should consider?
As far as gang missions go, since I'm there to support not provide main DPS, would a Hawk still be the de facto Caldari anti-frigate ship or should I look at something else?
Thanks!

If you have solid projectile and shield skills the Machariel is recommended. A Rattlesnake pretty much requires T2 sentries to work well. It does though have a huge tank. |

drake, navy raven, nighthawk. relatively cheap missile boats that perform very well in missions. fits are as straightfprward as it gets: launchers in the highs, BCUs in the lows, tank and maybe an AB in the mids.
edit: frigate sized rats should not be a big deal if you have at least one flight of light drones out. |

The reason why I want to help out collegues with an AF is that their drone skills suck lol. |

I love my Navy Caracal - seconded.
If you have the skills, a Cerberus has slightly better range, tank and damge than a Navy Caracal.
Both nom frigates with speed and ease.
Edit: Opinions on the Navy Scorpion? Not in quite the same league as the Rattlesnkae, but half the price? Currently use an SNI as my level 4 mission boat. In EFT it's inferior to the Navy Raven, but I don't notice too much between them in practice. |

And if you do have decent gunnery skills, a Harpy can deal with frigs very efficiently!
But yeah a T2 fit Nighthawk is much sturdier and gankier than a drake. The hull is clearly the most expensive part of the fit at about 230M.
Machariel is deadly efficient, but at around 1B, I wouldn't be comfortable taking one in low-sec... but that's just me and my casual player wallet |
