Edited by: Dantes Revenge on 09/02/2009 01:28:06 I would guess that he probably grossly underestimated the danger he was in.
Some people actually think that tourists are safer because they pose no threat. These people need to wake up, the people who died in the twin towers, Bali, London and so on posed no threat but it didn't stop them geting bombed by extremeists. Those terrorists don't care if you are a threat or not, it's just another notch on their rifle stock for them.
Edit: A bit like Eve really. Another entry for the killboard even though it was just a noob in a noobship who posed absolutely no threat.
-- There's a simple difference between kinky and perverted. Kinky is using a feather to get her in the mood. Perverted is using the whole chicken. All this has happened before and will happen again |

noobs in noobships can pose a big threat, how do you know what agency the guy is working for. In the case of this guy, he might just as well have been a cia operative.. its kinda common knowledge they have implants in the news media, but being a 'tourist' would give them even greater degree of 'free movement'

CIA is less important in countries where you can have the marines kick down a guy's door just 'cause you feel like it. |

"The police concluded that Mr. Marchio was not an Italian jihadist and was a risk to no one but himself."
Well at least it sounds like the Police did their job.

Yeah only to himself, the people round him when johnnyjihad and his buddies decide they want to snatch him and the troops that wouldve been duty bound to go attempt to find and recover him.
Silly boy.
That said, read into the article a little....
He got taken to see various stuffs, busy markets, children playing in the park etc....

Not sure if you implying that I did not read the article
Agreed; if he had been taken hostage, he would then endanger all those involved with his potential resuce. Otherwise, he was just a danger to himself. For being taken hostage in situations like this is not always a guarentee.
The point of my quote was that the police did not brutalize him and that how the police were quoted was funny to me. They processed him, deemed him to be no danger to hand over to the Italian Embassy, and he was unharmed. The Police did their job.

Not sure if it's so much the mettle of his cajones but instead the density of his skull imo. He put other people at risk too by doing this. That's something to consider. ----------------------------------------------- shin ku myo u
