Hi I would like to report a bug I found in the new lv 2 mission in Caldari space.
The name of the mission is called Scavenger. It needs you to equip a salvager in order to retrieve the wreck of a recon(Caldari) ship.
The mission had me jumping 14 gates and the last 6-7 gates are in low sec space, for a lv 2 mission. I have to equip myself with a warp core stabilizer and speed tank my Merlin. After refit I was on my way to this mission.
When I finally reach my destination in Harroule 0.1 sec. I found 40-50 wrecks and one of then is the mission specific wreck (recon ship).
However, when I finish salvaging it. It did not drop the data chip require to finish the mission, all it's left is a cargo container which it can't not be open...
Can you look in to that CCP?

There is a petition system in-game with a topic "Stuck Mission". Using the in-game system, which creates a ticket for the GMs directly is likely to get you a faster/better response then a posting on the forums.
GMs do peruse the forums, but these are not the vehicle for getting a broken mission fixed. |

Ok I re-enter Harroule into that mission space again(11:56 am). Just after server resets on 2009-02-06 11am.
This time there were no wrecks, only a can with my corporation's name on it. When I open it, there's only 1 Gallente Navy midshipman insignia I. No High-tech data chip.
And when I got back to my agent, he said I must deliver 1 unit of high-tech Chip...
Someone own me 330k and one unit of Eifyr and Co. Rogue FY-0 and 590 Caldari navy loyalty points... |

With GM FAOLCHU's help. He reset the mission for me. But unfortunately the mission specific wreck is still a can. It cannot be salvage nor can it be open.
What's worst the rats appear without any delay. Before I was able to stay for 30 sec without any NPC harassment, but now the appear at 5km around the wreck. I wasn't able to stay for more than 30 secs...
This mission is simply not doable.

According to the reply I got when I petitioned that one, it's a known issue. Not that the mission is hard, but that you get the mission at all. Scavengers is supposed to be one of the faction war missions. The target system is in the Caldari/Gallente faction war region, and should not be handed out by agents in other areas. I've gotten it twice, both times wanting me to go 25-26 jumps. If you see it again, turn it down before accepting. Just remember that declining a second mission less than 4 hours later will cause a standing hit. |

I have completed this mission - to open the can, I had to target the can and then activate the salvager on it. After a cycle or so, it was successful and I could open the can.
Prior to this I had to destroy the "scavaging" rats upon arriving at the location, which spawned a waved of gallente ships (2 cruisers and some frigs, iirc).
It may be a bug that this mission is given out by non-FW agents, it certainly seems like it, but the mission is doable. |

It was given by Atiai Obani in Suroken IX Moon 18 Navy assembly Plant. Division: Surveillance.
Not suppose to have any faction war missions.

Is best to read mission before accepting. If it includes low sec then best to reject unless your happy going into low sec.
If its less than say 4 hours since the last mission you rejected (with that agent), just dont accept it, wait till it is like 4 hours since last rejection, then reject it for no standings loss. During the wait you could do another mission with another agent etc to fill in the time. If your not sure, try to reject it (before accepting) and it will warn if it will give standing drop (can choose to cancel and not reject nor get standing loss). When it warns it also resets the timer so need to add 4 hours to when you were warned.

How come one GM knows what is going on and the next does not? I have the same mission and he/she says everything is fine
Quote:
Hi,
This mission is working as intended. If you wish to decline this mission, you can wait for a few hours until the agent will let you decline a mission with no standing penalty.

My Caldari Character just got this Mission from Kokitaira Tsutara, a LvL II -16 agent..
Although I don't look forward to the Low sec's (0.4 & 0.2). I understand that all the wreaks are salvageable so it should pay well.
I'm going to fly my salvage MOA (2 Heavy missiles, 3-250mm Rails, Salvager, Tractor and Faction NOS)and fleet up with this Higher SP Character flying a 425mm AC fleet stabber to watch my six there and back.
I know I'm being overcautious but my Caldari toon does not have a jump clone and I can't afford to loose all my implants lol.

Did that one last night, 16 jumps away from Caldari space into Gallente losec, 5 jumps into .1 systems. I fitted an Osprey for the job (a salvager, two missiles, shield tanking and warp stabs - don't like losec much).
The mission itself is trivial, you don't really need to kill all the rats, just clear out what you need, get close enough to the container and activate the salvager on it. After that you'll be able to open it.
If you're able to stick around, it looks like decent ISK can be made by salvaging the other wrecks. I had pierats on my tail though, so I bailed soon as I got the chip. Not bad for 300LP points.
