This character was created less than a week ago. I have another alt that was also made less than a week ago.
My main's portrait still does not show up. Why this be? |

Read what, exactly? The line that says the rendering-engine works on a non-periodic basis? That's an acceptable explanation for a delay in all character avatar renderings, but it's not an explanation for the fact that characters B and C - which were created some months after character A - have had their portraits rendered while character A has not. That's not the rendering engine being non-periodic, it's the rendering engine being non-sequential and I am wondering if it may also be an issue with the character input-datum. |

My main doesn't show its face yet, but my alt came on immediately. I've been looking around for an answer and the best I can say right now is maybe with the next big patch?
We are far from the only ones with a ! instead of portraits..
So, patience padawan. Patience. |

The true answer is that CCP moves in mysterious ways and banging your head against a wall when noticing some odd, non-logical stuff happening will only give you a permanent headache as you run into little things like that all the time.
EVE players have learned to just accept little quirks like that, CCP and logic rarely go hand in hand. |

The stickies say that the rendering engine works in batches but that is not the OPs issue. It implies that it renders character portraits in the order they are created though so the post is valid.
This character was created over ten months ago...still no portrait. Yet every day there posts by two week old characters that have portraits. Is there something wrong with our character data? Or does CCP just randomly pick which characters get included in any particular batch? |
