Yes, I did the "search" but apparantly havent learned the skill "Research" IRL, so here is my question: we just started playing EVE last week, and I created my 1st Bantam. I want to give this to my wife, but so far the only way we could figure out how to do this was to do a item trade via contracts, but I would be charged 10K ISK. Is there not a simple way to meet up and transfer items? Just the same, can we not email items to each other whther we are in the same area or not?
Thanks again...also, are we wrong in thinking that it will probably take us a few months real life time to be able to feel safe in venturing out and holding our own in the non safer reaches of space?

I will assume each of you has a separate account. If that is the case, simply dock at the same station, and with both of you online at the same time, open the "guests" tab, right click on the other's portrait, select "TRADE", move the ship in the trade window, both click "accept" and you're done.
As for the second part... some people never feel safe going out of highsec. Actually, make that all people. But not feeling safe doesn't mean you won't go there - you just need to be aware of the risks and plan accordingly. Going into lowsec/0.0 space solo or in a very small gang is probably not the best of ideas regardless of skillpoints and ships used... but then again, the lower your SP and the cheaper or smaller your ships, the smaller the eventual nearly unavoidable loss. The only way to feel marginally safe in lowsec/0.0 is with a large group, and even then, coming across an even larger group is a problem... or even coming across a smaller but better prepared group could be a problem... or, worse, there's no guarantee you will survive if you're reckless even if your side has the upper hand.

The best way to do it is two ways:
1) If you're wife and youself can log in the game with different computers and at the same time you can meet her at a station where the ship is located and then where you see the mission agents name that are in the station, look at the left where it says, GUESTS and open that tab, then find your wife's character name when she is docked there with you, and right click on her name and then click TRADE, you will see a double slot window where you can place items and make a money offer.
Do not make a money offer and just look at your ships and grab drop the ship to the slot with your name and find the button ACCEPT, once you accept then tell your wife to accept the trade and the ship will go to her.
2) You need to have a Corporation: once you own an OFFICE at any station you need to some how bring the ship to the location of where you have the OFFICE and right below where you see the agents name that come out when you dock in a station, you will find a button that says CORP HANGER.
Click on the CORP HANGER and then dont drop nothing in those windows yet, but on that window look for the button, MEMBER HANGAR, (at this moment your wife has to be a member of your corp) and then when you click on the MEMBER HANGAR button, you will see a list of names of your corp members and then select your wife's character name and click ok, then a hangar window will open, at this moment do the same, drag and drop the ship to your wife's hangar and she will get it.
* If this does not help you man, I hope you know a better way, because these 2 options are the best way because they don't charge a fee.

Edited by: TEJAS0 on 28/01/2009 00:18:55 Oh wow, never even thought (or knew) of that. Thank you all for the great responses. Currently, we are training our learning skills (with the exception of the skills to fly a better frigate). We are having fun, and taking our time to truly understand the game. I did learn that when you accept the 1st "go out and kill" mission from an agent, it doesnt mean the 1st ship you see when you undock. So yes, I have a slight faction dent from that maneuver. Im sure I can work it off over time with missions, etc...thanks again for the responses!! - Oops, used wrong forum pic...

Never ever... ever let your wife fly your ship, she will not be able to cope with it. Its to do with the fact that men are from Mars and women from Venus I gather. Have you no experience of women drivers?
At least there is no reverse
