At least in Gallente space, the price has doubled in the last while. Any particular reason? Is one of you manuplating this and making a killing? |

That's your problem right there. Prices in Gallente region compared to others has always been funky. Take Sylramic Fibers for starters, going for 116 in The Forge, its 165 in Essence. But that's ok, I crashed the price back down to where it should be. |

also, all skills being even, Hob II's are the best light drone, so they will always be in high demand.

You mean, they are generally perceived as the best drones (based only on the raw damage multiplier), so they're always in high demand. In reality, for PvP, explosive/Minmatar drones are more useful in general, and for PvE all drones except the EM/Amarr ones could be better depending on NPC faced (against Serpentis/Guristas, the kinetic/Caldari drones are better, for instance). But still, as long as the Gallente ones are perceived by most of the public as being the "best", they will be expensive.

In PVE, Gal drones are the best if you're lazy. Doing missions you don't have the luxury of picking your enemy. Simply loading up on Hobgoblins/Hammerheads is a lot easier than checking who your enemy is each mission, checking what damage they're weak to, and switching drone types accordingly. It's the same reason some people run Invuln Fields or EANM's instead of rat-specific resist mods. Mission-grinding is pretty mind numbing, and a lot of mission runners simply prefer to have a general setup that works instead of refitting between every mission.

Warrior II's are much better in PvP, as they are faster, so they can keep up with inties better and they are less likely to get destroyed as turrets/missiles can't hit them as good. Also explosive damage beats all .

The most recent patch reduced the effectiveness of Hammerheads' tracking against NPC frigs. May have something to do with it.

Precisely. Hammerheads essentially inferior to Hobgoblins against frigs. On most level IV's you need to take out some scrambling/stasis frigs as a high priority. Light drones do this best now. |

Correct. Both hobgoblin IIs and Warrior IIs dramatically increased in price after the medium drone nerf in the last expansion.

I thought this was the market forum? The price of hobgoblins has shot up, doubling. It might have started more expensive than other Tech II drones, but in the last couple of weeks it has soared.
Sure, popular things are more expensive. Did they suddenly get more popular? There has been no patch or nerf.

Light drones in general began going up the day of the last major patch. They have continued climbing and are now leveling out.
