Keep it fairly skills light if you can.
Just a nice little ship that would let me learn a bit of PvP, without costing too much |

If you can get a warp in point in range (i.e. do you have a prober alt or do you fight at gates and/or stations) i whould suggest AB and Scrambler cause once youre inside overheated scramble range you win.

Nah, it'd be mostly flying into mining belts and popping miners, so the MWD would help most i guess. Keep the suggestions coming! |

Edited by: General Coochie on 13/01/2009 19:29:21 Edited by: General Coochie on 13/01/2009 19:23:50 800 rolled tungsten Damage Control I 2 * Gauss field balancer (about 400-500k compared to mag stab II thats about 1.2mill, difference is probably lower then 10dps) energized adaptive nano membrane I
10mn mwd x5 web (best considering cost) warp disruptor I or named if you want, even the meta 3 (j5 something) is cheap, less cap, less fitting
regulated or limited (depends how much isk you wanna spend) electron/ions depending on skills.
consider loading guns with federation navy antimatter. It costs some 500k to load all guns with it, but it does help dps quite a bit. keep spare normal antimatter in cargohold
Drones, most definitely EC-600. They are reasonably fast to skill to compared to hammerhead II's. They will help more then hammerhead I's and they will save your ass many times.
With good skills you can fit a 1600mm plate which makes a huge difference in EHP. You can fit a 1600mm plate with lower skills if you are prepared to fit an AB. Just smack on a reactor control unit on there and it will fit.
One ship to rule them all, one ship to find them, one ship to jam them all, and in the darkness bind them.

I find it odd that people keep useing these mods. They give the same resits as a t2 ANM wile eating up a ton of cpu.

CPU is hardly an issue on the rax. And the T2 ANM is more expensive then an T1 EANM. Otherwise I agree (I mean what you say is true for other ships). |

Considering you really want T2 drones for arbi but can manage with EC dones on thorax and ruppie they should be slightly cheaper to fly. (note that even if arbi is way cheaper then the rax/rup on market, after insurance the difference isnt that high).

I find a Platerax with ECM drones to be the best for a low-skillpoint pilot. Here is the target setup; if you can't fit the T2 stuff, go with T1 until you can; and if you can't field ECM drones yet, use Hammerheads until you can. Your guns and your drones are the first things you should upgrade (to T2 or ECM, respectively). The Thorax is one of those sweet ships that just keeps getting better as you get more skillpoints.

if that's the case, all u need to make sure have on is a decent scram and something to tackle any drones u encounter.
otherwise just pure gank to break a decent hulks tank, ( blasters + antimatter would do the trick ), and your set.
Either way, if that miner has friends nearby, a thorax'z tank isn't going to hold up vs much, so u might as well damn sure u can kill em, get out, and say bye bye before back up arrives.
so with that said, Sarkiss has the safest build posted so far, not sure about the web, i cnt see any miner fit outrunning your Rax to leave scram range, ur prob better going for a cap recharger |
