Hey all, I'm pretty new but i'm looking for a good ship class to grind level 2's in for standing. I want the least amount of trouble, my gut is telling me AF's, but i'm not sure if this will outperform a cruiser in the end, or a HAC for that matter though I feel a HAC might be a tad overkill. Looking for speed and ease over all.
I'm a minne pilot, so keep those ships in mind, and I thank you for your time and consideration ahead of time. Thanks.

I find that a battlecruiser works pretty well, there are very few missions that restrict the class type, and they can generally be rejected.

I made good experiences with a Rupture. 650 Arties, Assault Launchers, Afterburner, token shield tank, weapon upgrades. Put some shield resistance rigs on it if you feel fancy.
Point is to pop everything quick, so you wouldn't want that tank anyway.

I'm currently grinding lvl2's for Amarr Navy in an active shield-tanked Jaguar. Works a treat :)

Caracal with assault missile launchers is really effective also.

Used a hurricane for all the day & a half it took to get to L3s for a new corp. There's very few locked missions.

Heavy Assault Ships are probably the optimal ones.
If that is not available in terms of raw firepower you should probably be using a battlecruiser.
The 3rd option is a normal assault ship and the last one a regular old cruiser. "Subtlety is a thing for philosophy, not combat. If you're going to kill someone, you might as well kill them a whole lot." - Vulcan Raven, The Last Days Of Foxhound |

A Cerberus with assult missiles launchers should be the best. But a Caracal with assult missile launchers should be nearly as effective.
If you think corp is different than a guild or clan you have some insecurity issues.

If you can fly HAC's why are you wasting time on lvl 2's.
If you are fairly new, then either cruiser, BC or assault frigate is fine. In fact an AF works really quick.

Yeesh, Overkill for L2s.
An Assault frig works just fine.
Passive Blarpy (Blaster Harpy) does wonders. Iskhur too. -----------------------------------

Being you're a minnie pilot ... rupture / hurricane. You won't be running L2's that terribly long, so the skills you train working up those two ships will be useful for 3's.
The answer to the un-asked question, raise connections / social skills so you have to run as few missions for standings as possible

Ishkur AF. You've got 5 T2 hobgoblins working and your own guns for the firepower, 800+ m/s AB speed and plenty of tank (active shield). I even use it on level 3's to plow through fast. ** ** PINTO is now hiring and training newbies in high-sec **

Funny, I just fly some level 2s to get a Standing for level 4 Agents ^^
I overkill them with a Ishtar, still Nano-Rigged :/ Warp in, aggro everything, Med Drones T2 and Salvage all stuff.
Around 3min from warpin to warpout for most Missions.

truth be told, doing quick l2 runs in a jaguar is quick easy work to get up to l3/l4 missions. if you dont have one and want something you'll get a bit more use out of, a munnin is always good. just basic armor tank on it (med repper, 2 eanm, dc) and some 650 arties and you'll alpha strike most things in there with only 2-3 guns, a bay of t2 light drones for anything that gets to close and you'll be running l2's and l3's without a worry.
personally i'd use med repper, 2 eanm, dc, 5 650 arties, 2 sensor boosters with scan res. leaves you 1 low and 1 medium to use as you see fit, will tank more then enough damage that you can just warp in, sit still, and not have to worry, and will be able to run l3's just as easy. simple, no swapping of mods, and leaves 2 highs for salvager and tractor should you feel like only half looting (loot the first wrecks while you kill the rest)... and with even basic skills is cap stable as is, meaning no micromanaging reppers xP

I'm currently doing this for Minmatar. Using a drake and T2 drones. I put the drones on aggressive, and watch them go to town. lol I usually pop the cruisers real fast with the 7 launcher hardpoints. --------------------

AFs are the bomb for l2s faster than any cruiser or BC will do them. My Hawk with an AB gets from point to point real quick, and has way more than enough firepower. The only special thing about the fitting is the Gistii B Small Shield Booster. They only run 8mil and are the booster of choice for economical, capstable, active tanked frigate builds (at least for me.)
The only L2 I have not just owned everything way Recon 1 of 3, and you are not supposed to kill everything in that. I may have been able to, my tank was holding, but it was Guristas and I was permajammed. ---
The stage is set Someone's going to do something someone else will regret... The fuse will have to run out sometime Something here will eventually have to explode

Velator. First you train Social IV and Connections IV. Then you buy Serpentis tags and drop them to datacenter. Voila! You can start farming L4 missions.

Generally, one higher than the base to "blow through" missions
So Level 1s are for frigates, so one higher = destroyers. level 2s are for cruisers so one higher = BC. level 3s are for BCs so one higher = BS.
Social skills will probably help you grind standing faster than your ship type will. You also might consider blitzing missions rather than killing everything if you are grinding for standing. --
