Hi,
I want to increase my faction standing fast. So doing missions seems a bit lengthy to me. I know about COSMOS and data center missions...but really - I hope there is another way than missions ^^
So ratting: If I want to increase my Gallente standing, will it help to fight Serpentis? And if so...how fast is it? Let's say fighting rats in a 0.3 - 0.1 system...
Thanks!

It will take approximately WAY WAY longer than normal missions.

there's no faction increase by killing rats...
Cosmos and data centers are an option but really arent effective to a significant degree.
Only way to really get faction standing is missions.
Yes gallente fight lots of serps and you quickly destroy your serp faction standing that way. ------------------------ To make a megathron from scratch, you must first invent the eve universe. ------------------------ Life sucks and then you get podded. |

One reasonably quick way to get some standings boosts is Faction Warfare. Every time you get promoted you get a pretty hefty boost to the faction you're working for.

How much of a standings gain, More than a storyline mission?

That's not strictly true from my own experience, lets say you shoot angel rats? This lowers your angel standings and in turn boosts your standing with the angels enemies, although it is a slow process.

For the first Promotion, I got a 4.4198% increase to Gallente Federation. Each promotion after that, added another 2%, so it was 6.4198, 8.4198 etc. Getting the first few promotions is easy enough, so for a quick boost to Faction standings, FW is awesome. I started out at barely above the +0.5 requirement and I am now sitting at 6.25 (5.31 without skills). Last promotion I got, gave me 14.4198%...

Interesting. What is the faction hit for the opposing faction with these increases, are there any besides what you get for killing their NPCs?

Going by the 14.4198% increase, since it's the biggest number to compare with and thus slightly more accurate to calculate with, I got the following changes: Gallente Federation: +14.4198 Minmatar Republic: +8.6576 Amarr Empire: -3.4027 Caldari State: -7.5086
This shows that the hit for working for the opposing faction is slightly more than 50%. So in theory, it i possible to keep all 4 major factions on a positive level...

I'm struggling to raise my standing with a particular NPC corp (Caldari Navy). Will it raise quicker if I do missions from several different divisions and agents for the same corp, or does it matter? It just seems to be climbing incredibly slowly.
