I remember looking at the old ship chart back when I started playing, and just realised recently that it hadn't been updated yet. So I decided to take it upon myself to compile a new one with the Trinity expansion graphics.
Eve Online Ship Chart - Quantum Rise Edition
I am planning to make a sub-capital version of the chart too, with all the pirate/faction ships on it at a larger scale. I'll update this post with a link once it's done.
As always any donations would be appreciated.
P.S. I'm not really sure if it's the right forum, but hey, it's probably the first place I'd look for it.

Great work, man! This should definitely get stickied or something.
You get the models with TriExporter or with some other crazy voodoo I don't know about? ----- Anyone who makes a point of telling you they never beat around the bush is beating around the bush. |

I think something in the area of 300-400 cubic kilometers is probably about right for these although due to the convoluted shapes that figure might actually be off by a fair margin. At any rate in-game they're a good 15-18 km in length depending on class.

Cheers guys
I'm not 100% sure on the scaling of the ships, but that's the size of the models in the game files. I'd be interested in knowing from CCP if the 3D models are rescaled when they are rendered in-game, or if they are directly imported as the size they are?
Lord Regulus: Yes I used TriExporter, and hours worth of converting models, textures and setting up shaders.

The models sizes are indeed correct.
The issue with the game engine is that the camera distance and zoom are dependant on the kind of ship you fly.
If you fly a frigate and zoom all the way in, it takes up a certain portion of the screen. If you fly a battleship and zoom all the way in, it takes up (roughly) the same amount of screen space. If you fly a titan and zoom all the way in, it takes up (roughly) the same amout of screen space.
I say "roughly" because the shape of the model also makes a difference. A nearly spherical ship (say, a Vexor) will allow the camera to come much closer than a very stretched out ship (say, an Iteron).
The main effect that this has is making you view your surroundings differently depending on the ship you fly. If you are flying a titan, you will likely see your fleet members only as brackets in space, even when fully zoomed in (unless they happen to be interposed between your ship and your camera viewpoint). Conversely, when in a frigate, everything else's freaking enormous.
So it's no surprise that there's confusion about the scaling of models.

Very nicely done.
I'm somewhat disappointed in CCP that they haven't scaled up the mothership models yet; for the most part they are the same size as dreads, or smaller, which just seems out of whack. -------------------- "I am hard pressed on my right; my centre is giving way; situation excellent; I am attacking." - Ferdinand Foch at the Battle of the Marne |

My only complaint is no ORE ships. I'd like to see the Orca on here, in particular. :)
I'm looking forward to the sub-capital one.

Naglfars height: 9999999 meters.
I just measured it using the scaling given. Measures 1409 pixels high, give or take 3-5 pixels.
Each pixel is 3,5 meters. 1409 pixels x 3,5 meters/pixel = 4931,5 meters
So its not "OVER NINE THOUSAND!?". Pity. :S
Almost forgot! Kudos for making the chart it looks awesome! Have some isk! "Ruppie ain't no puppie." |
