What can do 5 million SP, drone oriented n00b in fleet fights? How such n00b can become something and feel needed!

T1 frigate tackle. Train for interceptor if you enjoy tackling, and you'll inherit scout duties as well.
Or, go damage-dealing and work through the Vexor to the Myrm then the Domi. Become one of the heavy-hitters.

Yeah, as above - fast locking tacklers are always handy to have around. And if you do have decent drone skills (assuming Gallente) then jump in the Vexor (keep the scrambler!) so you can still be a semi-reasonable tackle, and bring some DPS to the party. Meanwhile, on the other side of town . . . |

5M SP isn't too noobish, many will disagree but that's 3-4 months of playing. In my opinion you aren't a noob at that point. If drones are your specialty then stick with that. I recommend a drone ship that you can use to kill the enemy's smaller ships. The myrmidon is a superb support vessel that can absolutely murder the horde of frigates and cruisers that will be present in any fleet battle. For this role I recommend drone link augmenters (+20km range each) and drone navigation links (boosts speed). With such a setup you would want to target enemy tacklers and ECM cruisers like the falcon. Drone ships are for the most part immune to ECM so you can play a vital anti-ecm role. You won't be a heavy hitter but you can be very useful with careful target selection.
If you want to go a little smaller then the vexor and arbitrator are good choices, their role is virtually identical with some additional EW capability.

Thanks guys!
I am allready flying Vexor allmost all my time, slashing through missions LVL 2 and 0.2 sector rats like through butter with my Tech II Hammerheads, have skills for pretty decend Drone damage, gunnery is good too (not lvl 5, so no tech II rails or blasts). Have some "fun" setups with drone augmentors and links... so all those drone upgrades fit with me, also need some additional skill levels to get sentries and electronic drones, but combat medium scout drones are my. Thanks for advices what can I do. I can tackle too, I have mwd and afgerburner skills good, so can fly not so slowly. Targeting is poor, only 5 targets at time :( Have long range targeting level, so actually I can shoot or control drones from about 80-120km distance if fitted!
So it seems I can be of some use in the fleet fights.
I am going for more heavy drone boats, BC and BS...
Question comes here... how can I afford BC? For now I can afford only Cruisers, and all forum advices are - don't fly something you can't afford to loose. I can afford Vexor, 3-5 millions + equip can be gathered through rats... But I can't afford BC even as my skills allows me to fit and fly one!
How does this part is being settled? And... isn't that such ships become primary targets for enemy, so my survival is about 2-3 seconds after targeted?

As soon as you start doing lvl 4 missions, financing BC's becomes easy. Just don't use them for PvP until you can fit them reasonably (full T2 tank at least) and buy a new one quickly. If you don't do missions also 0.0 ratting will earn you enough money to buy big ships.
In the average fleet fight you will not be primaried early when you fly a Myrm. EW and heavy hitters will be first. I remember when I participated in a multiple carrier takedown with my Myrmidon. Just at the very end when almost all enemies were dead, a lonely Dominix decided to engage me in order to kill at least anything. He died to the combined firepower of my buddies in seconds
My opinion is purely personal and not related to my alliance |

IIRC, I started to lead fleets around 5m skillpoints.
Wasn't the best at it, but, well... there you go.

if you can do vexor, you can do thorax. and if you can do thorax, you can do gank thorax. and that's always a bit more close range dps. --

Yeah, you`ve got plenty of uses for your 5m sp there. Take a look at the Ares too. And train t2 sensor boosters.
Being able to afford BC is all about making more money out of what you do do. Take a look at the skills for improving mission rewards and boosting your standings (Connections is a must). Like someone said, get doing lvl4 missions and BC become a lot more affordable.
Sounds like you`re on the right track.

Yes.
But how today Thorax closes to the fleet if today MWD is killable? Doesnt knowing this thoraxes are primed?

Tanks. Was going there, but that's why I am asking the questions to get correct directions, as I see my place in EVE in a fleet as main fighter... not commander, not cover ops, but some kind of "dirty job" which is not too much honor, but still backbone of fleet force. I follow orders very well when under wise commander...
Some questions not about fight, but still in this trhead...
I am going now for production efficency 5 to get another usfulness for corp, ofcourse primes are fighting skills (as told - drones, turrets)... Also I have decent skill backbone for exploration, but that future plans.
What are alternative good things one can do outside direct fleet fights? I can't mine, never intended to go there, so no usfulness here... what "professions" else are needed and required for corps, fleets...
Such skills as engineering, electronics, science are lvl 5...
Or... it is not wise to have different professions, you should concentrate on one and only one? Coz I was thinking to be good at one thing in war and at one thing when not in war!

5 million SP thats more than me and i have acquired some kills on my KB... but it isnt about the SP its about combat experience and you get that by buying 20+ frigs and going off chasing targets untill you die then jump back and take out a new fully insured frig. Guaranteed to teach you wtf to do and its cheap as hell and also its fun as hell.
Gallente? i recommend an incursus or a tristan hell even an atron can tackle.
