Ok so let's say I am scanning for anomalies with my ships scanner. And I find one, on the zoomed out version of the screen, where it shows you the system layout, I see where it is located, and there is a circle in green called ' High '
Instinctively you think this would mean it is difficult, but I warp to the location to find frigs and cruisers.
So how is the difficulty measured, or am I reading it wrong??

Difficulty is guaged in the 1/10 to 10/10 group. 1/10 plex being the easiest. |

Means the signal is high, ergo it is a good signal and warping to it should drop you right on top of the anomaly itself.

I am talking about anomalies not signatures

Thank you, I thought it would have had something gto do with the difficulty, so there is no real way of telling the difficulty of an anomaly you are about to warp to?

Anomalies work the same way. It's easier to condense it though. Sec will dictate what you find in terms of difficulty. I have found 6/10's in 0.0 using onboards.
High sec has been condensed. You will find 4 possible anomalies. It doesn't matter if you are in .5 or .9 sec. Those are what are there now. The ships you fight are based on region and empire. |

In a way there is. For the Factional Warfare complexes at least, don't know if it is the same for "normal" anomalies, when you find them on the scanner, there is a signal strength. The closer the comples is, the higher the strength, up to a certain point, as higher complexes are harder to detect, thus having a lower strength regardless of distance. When you've seen enough complexes, you can look at distance and strength and take a guess at what it's most likely to be.
Doing this, I've often been able to leave complexes hidden that I knew would not be good to put on the overview for the hostile militias to see. Again, it might be the same for normal ones, so try and look at the numbers. If it is the same, it's all trial and error until you get a good feeling about what to expect...

Green = high signal strength Yellow = medium signal strength Red = low signal strength
The signal strength was the probability for you in this situation to find the site.
A low signal strength means either it is a weak signal and because of this it is difficult to find. Or it means your skills are low. Or it means you are scanning with the wrong probes. Or or or
So, many factors affects the signal strength. The strength of the location is only one of these factors.
Usually if the site itself has a low strength it means the quality of the site is better (better ore, stronger ships, better stuff to hack etc.). But as above explained, the strength you see on the overview/map is influenced by many factors and not only by the site signal strength.
