Bestest gallente ships:-
BS = Domi BC = Myrmidon Cruiser = Vexor
Mostly cos blasters suck arse with this new patch (along with a lot of other things) although these ships were good pre-patch as well.
POST NERF PVP SKILLS: "shall we engage?" "hmmm how many ships do they have?" "more than us" "lets not bother then" "WOW great job FC!!!!" "................. |

I've always struggled to like the Myrmidon. I find it a very awkward ship to fit out and am never fully satisfied with it. After flying HACs for so long I fancy another crack at the battlecruisers, mind sharing some setup ideas?
On topic: Drones boats are the best generally. Blaster boats for balls-to-the-wall action.

While I love drone boats I can't help dismaying at the idea of facing a passive shield tank with them, especially something fearsome like one of those caldari command ships with their gigantic tanks. With most races you can do a neut domi type of thing to wear them down then let the drones finish them off, but not with those fellows, plus the drone dps hits its limit at something like 400-500 isn't it? |

True but the trade off for a ship having a passive tank that can stand up to a fully skilled domi with its drones is a lack of mwd/afterburner, point and web so the best your passively tanked target can do is chase you off cos he cannot tackle and kill you.
While the domi can fit all of those tackle and speed mods and a twin rep + heavy resistance tank fit. |

Passive tank + AC's. So good. So many bitter tears when used as bait. |

Hint: Drone boats have turret slots as well. Drone boats also have enough midslots for close range QR gank/tackle fits, as well as fits that can choose to be moderately effective BOTH as med range drone boats and in your face blaster boats. Funny patch, ainnit?
For me the best Gall ship has to be Ishtar for the type of pew I do. Right before the patch it was a toss up between Ishtar, Deimos and Ranis, with slight preference for Deimos.
Not really happy gimping the Deimos DPS with falloff- Null M so it stays in the hangar atm. The Thorax does not even have this option so it was nerfed to be one of the least desirable cruisers after having been gank king prepatch. Ofc it can still score kills depending on the enemies fittings but the drone boats atm are just so much more reliable. |

Edited by: Sabrina Al''Kian on 20/11/2008 22:19:33 One thing you guys aren't getting is that the Thorax can STILL shoot a Vexor's drones. Also, chances are good that by the time the Vexor gets a scram on you, you're both webbed and you're coasting into blaster range. Unless he's on the ball and fitting an AB, the Thorax shouldn't have any trouble.
On that note, I would put in my vote for the Lachesis for the best Gallente PvP ship. 18km-20km scram allows you to actually fit a MWD and fight at range, which is usually dangerous to do now. Also, you have a wide variety of options as to Ewar pick; I personally use ECM because damps just don't seem to do anything anymore. The one problem with this ship is tank against missiles and drones, so I always fit a medium smartbomb on mine to take care of drones (you can usually do this before you die, but it can be a toss up). And yes, it doesn't have the best DPS out there, but this fit will still trounce the average Vexor/Thorax/Deimos/Brutix. It has trouble against the harder-tanking ships, but that's the trick with solo PvP: you need to be able to choose your target. |

Ok, took the old Deimos for a spin in a pretty well-rounded small/mid-size gang and I have to retract a little, it still has its uses as a gank ship when proper support is around... Though my fit was not entirely cookie-cutter.
But for solo/ really small gangs it still is in need of some midslot love.

Several great Gallente ships, but the best are:
- Ares and Taranis Inteceptor
Incursis Frigate Ishtar Heavy Attack Cruiser Vexor and Thorax Cruiser Enyo Advanced Frigate Myrmidion Battlecruiser Dominix Battleship
All are great if you have level five skills.
I want to caution first time Megathron pilots: This is a tricky ship to fly unless your base skills (mechanic, engineering, electronics, navigation and spaceship command) are fours or fives. This is a great ship but it is far less forgiving than a Dominix.
Remember, if you are flying solo you aren't getting the best part of the game! By their diversity of ships and skills, a gang is far superior to any soloer. Had a bad experience? Get over it and try again! You will have far more fun in a good corp than alone.
Not having fun? Change corps!
Fly Safe, all. Suggestion: Please color jump gates the same color as the system security rating of the destination system in the overview.

I looooove Vexors so much I bought a BPO so I can lose them by the dozen. Thing is I found a fitting that is slowing my Vexor losing spree.
4x Ion Blaster II's w/ CN or FN Antimatter 1x Salvager ---- 10MN MWD Warp Scrambler II Stasis Webifier II ---- Magnetic Field Stabilizer II Nanofiber Internal Structure II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Damage Control II
Drone rack 1: 2x Ogre II, 2x Hammerhead II, 1x Hobgoblin II Drone rack 2: 5x Warrior II
----
Tactics This Vexor is not meant to be a soloship at all. It's mainly surprise DPS. It's very survival depends on there being juicier targets than "a fukn Vexor". So now that you're sure your target is shooting something else hit Approach and bump that mofo. Launch drones, web, scram, blaster. I tend to Keep at Range - 1500m, you may orbit if you like but most people are too busy pewpin' their pants watching their health drop. Against other drone boats pop their drones first while keeping them tackled. |

I had eight kills in my Blasternis saturday, so it seems to work just fine post-patch. I do have to work harder now I've lost > 1000 m/s The nice thing about it is that it is so difficult to catch. Fast in, fast out It's also nice to be in a ship feared by all the other inty pilots.

Originally by: Shadow's Caress If you're going strictly for cruisers, go with a blaster fitted thorax w/ ECM drones. Oh, and fit a MWD despite what others are saying. All you need it for is getting into range. It's a very very effective ship for it's price, and they are NASTY in small wolfpacks. I'm just glad caldari noobs never wizened up and traded their drakes for these things.
Too late I come to the same conclusion last week.

Pretty much this. Drone's are still effective if you're able to carry a few types and switch them out depending on your target. Blaster boats are much less effective, because it's much harder to get in range now (most people carry a scram, and that switches your MWD off), and because it's harder to slow someone down.
Uh, I don't know. Blaster ships are my weapons of choice and I haven't had issues getting into range. You just need scram + web + MWD. Likewise these days its heavy tackle or don't bother. My Brutix has been a workhorse as far as that goes. Doesn't need to survive long (gank fit), just needs to survive *long enough* for my gang to aquire lock + point.

For the BS I'm gonna have to say Mega, just my preference. If you have the right skills for fitting one of these with out fitting mods they are sick . I have seen a Sniper fit Mega fleet tear things apart while armor reping each other at the same time. It really depends on what you want to do, but hey I like sniper ships lol.

With Gallente I love to use dual damage bonused ships and take advantage of both bonuses.
So in the BS I'd put blasters on a Dominix and use it to raep face with blasters and drones. Also a dual-repping cap-injected Blasta Hyperion is pretty fun. |

Vexor and Thorax are both great, but Thorax has to be pickier about what it engages. Vexor can bring a lot of hurt though with 5x Warrior II, 5x Hammerhead II, and 5x light ECM drones in the drone bay. Fit some electron blasters in the highs, a buffer in the lows, and standard tackle in the mids, and you've got yourself the beginnings of an excellent pvp ship.
