I've just gone and replaced my modem in a hope that may make a difference. No go. Still a crapshoot as to whether or not I can log in, and once I'm in I have between 30 to 60 seconds before the connection dies.

In the spirit of experimentation ( and because I really want to be able to start playing Eve again ) I re-installed again, made sure I deleted everything ( cache, settings, logs etc ) and was able to log in for longer than normal. Very laggy with the responses but I was in, able to undock, change skills, travel a few systems, buy stuff off the market woohoo. Then I clone jumped and it all went to heck with the socket closed all over again.

Edited by: Cyclicus Remba on 18/02/2009 04:23:36 I'm really getting fed up with this crap. This is costing us actual money. Drones, implants, getting killed....I'm going to set a nice long skill, and take a break from EVE. Maybe the Bjorktards in Iceland can get their act together by then.

Come on CCP, give us at least something. If you are still looking for solution at least let us know of the progress. Don't just buried your head and just hope it will go away. Its a known fact that this issues happen since the QR patch, its've been 3 month. You can't just blame the players for this issues.
I seriouly considering wether I want to continue my subscription because of this issue. Burning USD30 a month for a broken game is not my idea of fun.

People, seriously give this a try! If you have pingplotter set it to trace the eve server at 1 second intervals the whole time eve is on. You will not get a disconnect. Never! I'm not an expert but I know it works. It may not be a solution but it certainly patches up the problem for now. At least you can play normally.

I got dropped 3 times with 25 minutes, then tried this and have been fine since (3+ hours). Of course, there's no way for me to verify that this program helps at all, but meh, I'll use it till my "luck" runs out. |

Sometimes I'll get socketed 3 times in an hour, sometimes once in 3 hours, sometimes not for 5 hours. Still doesn't change the fact that the hop before the server is essentially dead, regardless of how long pingplotter is running.
Maybe I'll try it while wearing a pink carnation, pasties and wingtips while humming Marche Slave. It just might work! I'll let you know how it goes.

FFS, how about actually trying to give some useful feedback rather then clogging up this thread with more useless whining.
GD forums ------------> that way.
For everyone else not wanting to read 16 pages of to and fro I made a summary of this thread on page 15. # GO THERE FIRST BEFORE WHINING AND COMPLAINING. # TRY THE OPINIONS THERE FIRST BEFORE WHINING AND COMPLAINING. # THIS PROBLEM IS ****TY ENOUGH WITHOUT YOU ADDING TO IT. KEEP THE THREAD CLEAN

Dont know what the heck is going on with the servers. Ive been playing since 07 and seriously since about early december i've been getting d/c ALOT! for me EVE was hella more stable for me back in the day...should be the other way around CCP! Time goes on it seems more and more are effected. Im so glad my corp is mostly empire based, as those fellas down in lowsec and null...i pity them. I've read many, many, many posts about this problem and heres some relations.
1. Early December servers started kicking some people. Some are not effected. 2. Server hits 40,000 users and d/c happens often. 3. Login screen is 'updated' and d/c happens. (ie. new news is posted, or a login screen one-time advertisment is posted) 4. Warp to a gate d/c happens. Again only some are effected. 5. Premium graphics running, people are d/c anywhere from 5min-5+hours. Run EVE in classic graphics and EVE is MUCH more stable. (This here worked for me. Ran EVE.exe (safe mode) and d/c do not happen...but your stuck warping to those awful looking stargates and cheap textured ships :(( no offence ccp 6. Seems to be sporadic. Some days your fine other days its unplayable.
I couldnt stay connected more then 30min one day. I did a temp fix by: 1. Resseting and diagnose/repair my router. 2. Cleared cache and lowered cache to low. 3. Unchecked Premium Graphics Content Enabled and HDR Enabled. Worked like a charm...until about two days later.
So, Premium Graphics was a must for me. Started reading about nvidia config. nvidia options and EVE options sound like they need a better pipeline. I turned on 'override any application setting' for AA mode in nvidia options and then turned on HDR and bloom to 'low' in EVE in-game options. Havent got d/c but ran into downtime. Ill update on this temp fix after DT.

I started having these disconnects around 2 weeks ago and as i know nothing about computers im just hoping the problem solves by itself (yea right). I havent red all these pages but to me it happens most of the times when there are more people playing, between 18:00 to 00:00 eve time and it gets really unplayable being a pvper, industrial or watever. Out of this time frame its really ok, i generally have a trader logged on doing some runs and only very rarely it drops connection

Nothing new here. I've been getting disconnects all day, around once every fifteen minutes. Right now (1:30 am PST) I'm seeing a disconnect two or three minutes after I login, or if I warp, jump, or open the market window.
TeamSpeak and all my other apps etc are not showing a problem. I'm also pinging eve-online.com and seeing no correlation between disconnects and ping times, time-outs. I am however seeing timeouts every ten minutes or so (a single timeout). Pings to other locations in the UK are not showing the same problem.
Here's a tracert report (first 2 jumps redacted).

Ok this is another possible workaround if you haven't tried it and your results may vary, but the kb article http://support.eve-online.com/Pages/KB/Article.aspx?id=405 has worked for me.
I'm ingame, able to undock and actually join fleets and shoot stuff, connected for 30+ minutes so far which is a personal best these past 3 weeks
