Originally by: Cat Molina Neat thing about being Minmatar is you build up a resistance to the nerf bat.
They nerf speed, your ships take a hit. They nerf missiles, your ships take a hit. They nerf drones, your ships take a hit. They nerf webs, your ships take a hit. They nerf tracking, your ships take a hit. They nerf armor tanking, your ships take a hit. They nerf shield tanking, your ships take a hit. They nerf alpha, your ships take a hit.
And yet we're still killing people.
That's caus ccp is allways nerfing the wrong things... Just wait till they nmerf the Duct Tape II and Paperclip II - only then we may experience a loss off killing power. :P Nittedal Technonogies Now NOT recruiting, We DON'T want your stinkin' application in our inbox. |

Edited by: Amy Wang on 13/11/2008 00:19:35 Amarr ships dont "lack" a bonus, the bonus just evens out drawbacks of the waepons it is meant to use, just like most minmatar ships have a rof bonus to even out their crappy base dps (in theory) and the amarr equivalent is the cap useage bonus which is the weakest point of their weapons apart from damage type restrictions.
Speaking of that, I dont think a pulse geddon does more effective dps on a omni-armortanked target then a blaster mega, not by a long shot, Th/Kin > Em/th and with the current tanking fotm of omnitanked trimarked plated ships that is quite a lot of hp to chew through with EM as the highest resist
btw I fly Minmatar and Amarr, so while I agree minmatar needs some loving I dont think that amarr are op, I thought they were awesome when I crosstrained for them just after the amarr buff but turns out, grass looks always greener then it really is on the other side

I agree,
Minmatar need to have artillery made into the true alpha wepon - I a decreace in RoF and an increace in the damage mod would be a good start. Lowering the falloff and buffing the optimal in the 'Howitzers' (250, 720 and 1400) would be good too - but its not as important.
They are fast, but the agility to mass math is off. . .whatever the case, Minmatar need a lot less mass - they may not be as agile as Caldari, but they should reach their higher max speeds a lot faster. Minmatar should be the fastest, the quickest into warp, fastest in warp but they pay for this with the lowest sensor strength, slowest lock times, lowest locking ranges and the lowest dps. But you knew this when you trained minmatar. . .want dps, go Amarr/Gallente, want speed go Minmatar, want extreme ranges/ECM go Caldari. . .and on. ----

This is something people often leave/miss out on. Could be because of EFT-warrioring, but case is still there. Think about what the plated omnitank ships do to damage. Think about what they do to fitting as well. Compare an allround fitted geddon with hardeners and LAR with a armorbuffed one with no repper. Now look at the cap consumption and fitting reqs. There you go, now you got half the answer to why Amarr suddenly got better (while still being stuck with the em/thermal damage).
Edit for clarity; "you" = generalised, not aimed at any poster here.

Yes, eve is coming down to more player skill intensivness again.
Lets hope the Sackless IO works, and we wont get so much critical hits to our Sacks by lag.
Things left to balance are Lasers omnipotentness at the moment. They can do all the things Blasters/rails/autocannons and rails/howizers can do - beter. Lasers cap usage is joke right now, i got enought cap to use em on tempest. Lasers track too well for the optimal range they got. Blaster damage is only marginaly beter than pulselaser... in sub 2km range, while pulses blast its merry way from 10km++ Projectile falloff damage is too low to be worth using in the age of super tankking and omni tanks. EMP L needs to do more damage. Omnitanks > Multi damage type. Omni tanks need to be looked into. Having ability to tank omnitank is ruining one of the aspekts of EVE.
Passive armor tanks are yet to be looken into. Active tanking is still draging behind.
Thats abaut sums it up.
Get to work, CCP
Speaking as a pilot who has dueled virtually every amarr ship against my own minmatar pilot with ships of pretty much every class and numerous kits designed to counter each other and similar skill distribution, I can honestly say, WTF are you talking about?
