With the Ban Hammer smacking accounts like whack a mole I'm almost afraid to start this thread
So CCP is there a list of words somewhere to give me guidance on what I can or cannot say like this one provided by george carlin:

I often hear a word refering to those of semetic descent when relating to the thriftiness of player by those in NULL sec whom RIV was talking to in local. Should we all be petitioning GMs everytime we see these words in local?
Is there now a new form of PvP going on here: PETITION PvP WHERE WE REPORT WHENEVER A HI PROFILE PLAYER SAYZ AN OFFENDING WORD in local, forums, or at fanfest in order to silence them/boot them from the game?
Expect a shitstorm of petitions from Goons & others alliances in the wake of the past week of bans is all I can say

1) Threatening CCP with mass petitions is not a particularly viable negotiating strategy, imho. I don't think it will effect a change in position.
2) Your strategy of this 'new form of PvP' is valid. I think people have already been doing it. I've seen it off and on for years. I got a warning for my lingo one time (2006/7 ish). It was justified. I was guilty. I've since become more mindful of my phrasing of things in local... you can say things to similar effect sans vulgarity.
3) I don't really see the point of your thread. Nothing has changed... it's always been like that. Local is logged.

But back to the subject of the thread
I think a can of worms has been opened the past week & everone is going to be baiting everyone else to see who is the next to get banned. I wouldn't be surprised if the Goons start a new competition giving out free plex to whomever gets another CSM or alliance leader banned for wht they said in retaliation for Mittens getting banned

Umm no its not my strategy. I want to point out that others are obviouly doing this& are redoubling thier efforts & baiting by undoubtedly using just as nasty words as RIV & Mittens used.
In the past 6+ months since Incarna I've given up petitioning CCP for anything except for I think 2 occasions when I was drunk & PO'd. One I deleted after a week of no answer...
On another note I'm surprised that the petition against Riv got looked at so quickly I'm sure any petition I put in would take over a week to be answered
I'm sort of hoping that this was just a April fools joke article

There is nothing wrong with petition pvp. Use it to kill botters, RMTers, destory alliances and enemys. Destroy a enemys ship he will be back destory his account and hes gone forever. |

In some strange way I agree with this. How CCP see it I'm not sure especially with impressionable teenagers.
War propoganda is a deliberate tactic in game however and people should be responsible for their own actions. So if there is a valid reason to ban a player, I can't see a problem to use the petition PvP method, that is what it is for at the end of the day. Afterall we are correcting behaviour or ultimatley removing player elements as an evolutionary process to the game by doing it.
And aslong as it works both ways of course. Also that in effect people can be equally penalised by over abusing a player tool when it is not for the above intended purpose or taken out of context. Temporary bans could be useful for people demonstrating abuse of systems in this way.

I don't mind the accountability factor. Say what you mean or don't say anything.
Troll and flame factor here means CCP will lose business to it. If they don't care, I won't lose any sleep over it.

I agree with petitioning all botters and DO NOT THINK ITS PvP since they are bots run by botters.
Looks like CCP has been doing a better job as of late NAILING THE BOTs and for that I say KUDOS CCP and all that petition botts.
I dislike GM petitioning of peeps by the morality (PC) police... I personally think mittens was thrown under the bus to a large extent; but CCP was naded a large stinking crap sandwhich by mittens. The uproar before & after his 30 day ban was/is a worse stink
