Hey guys,
Been playing this game for a month now, and atm I am all in mining / refining. (industry related), but i would like to try out some missions and ratting. (vell the pve aspect of the game).
I`m minmatar by Race, but i havent traind anything moteh than Cruiser to lvl 4, so switching to other race ships is not a problem.
So guys, for missions and ratting what would be a good race ships to choose. I would like to aim to one race ships, so i could progress faster.
Any tips would be nice. TY.

Aww, you remind me of myself when I was starting out. Minmatar Prospector flying a Scythe, good times. 
If you want to get into PVE, train for Caldari ships and missiles. Kestrel frigate for L1 missions/highsec ratting, Caracal cruiser for L2 missions, Drake battlecruiser for L3 missions, and Raven battleship for L4 missions/0.0 ratting. Caldari are really SP-friendly because you can be effective in a Drake ridiculously quickly; ditto the Raven.

ok, thanks for the tips.
How are the caldari in pvp (or are they only good for pve) ?
I see that trainig in calradi means ill get missles skills and shield tanking. wont this be a diadvantage for pvp ?

I was kinda looking into Amarr, cuase i simply love the looks of these ships (and i will have to stear at them quite for some time) and i understand that they are the best at tanking (always liked defencive charasters in other mmo games)

caldari ships best for PvE,although i stick to my 'cane for lvl 3 missions;)

that should work fine...remove the spaces of course the alt text, not so much (dunno how to do alt text in bbc)

At the moment, Amarr and Caldari are both very popular and viable options - but by the time you have good skills that could have changed. In my experience, Minmatar is easily the most skill intensive race and have the worst large ships. So, I suggest training whichever race you find most interesting. Each race has some things that make it wonderful.

I have been playing for almost a year now Nostrop and have been mainly a miner /industrialist etc, but also wanted to get into PvE/missions and the like.
I am Gallente by race but have crossed trained in both Amarr and Caldari, I used a vexor for LvL 1 & 2 missions and found that I didnt need guns on my ship at all and the drones did all the killing while I took the aggro and salvaged as the rats were popping.
I am doing my lvl 3 missions in a Drake (and sometimes my passive Myrm) and salvaging in my destroyer afterwards. The Drake is a great ship and I find Lvl 3's in it extremely easy, my shields never drop passed 80%. Great ship for these missions I dont even worry about spawn triggering ships I just kill everything!
And for my Lvl 4's I will either use my Domi drone boat or go for a Raven, both are excellent for missions, because they can both field a great tank, and providing your skills are quite good you wont have to worry to much about loosing your ship.
I wont fly an Amarrian BS just purly because my laser skills are pants, but my missle/drone skills are very high and thats how I like to use my ships.
With missions most people will tell you to go for a Domi or Raven, but really its how you want to fight, do you want it easy or want more of a challenge?
Anyway whats important is that you have fun doing your ratting/missions, its a good break from mining and manufactureing.
