Hey guys i know this has been discussed before but today i got myself a new g15 keyboard. I have looked all over the net for an eve profile for the g15 but it seems all the links are broken :-(. My question is does anyone have a profile they can upload on to the forums or point me in the right direction as to how to get one that will show basic things such as ammo/shield/armor or whatever on the lcd display.
Thanks Kindly - Maxeri

The EVE client does not support the G15 afaik. EVE Mon does though... So you can stick your skill training info on there.

EVEmon has the skillthingie on the LCD. Other than that, there has been little to no support for it. As for a profile... make your own macros on it. I, for one, use the G1 button to activate F1->F4 and G2 for the other 4 F-keys. It doesn't give you any advantage, besides the somewhat easier alphastrike, and is allowed by CCP/the Eve EULA. ______________________

Also very handy to have vent chat on the G15 display.

I love using the g15 for eve combat, although the balance will be redressed in the next patch with weapon / mod linking - in game, to rival G key profiles and thier associated macro's (read - pressing G1 intead of having to mash the F1 - F8 keys).
It would however be nice to find out if there is, or plans to be a dev pack available to the playerbase where we can write our own tools, like the g15 interface. The API's provided with the g15 makes writing an application for them really simple, should we have access to stats / real time information from eve through thier API a basic piece of middleware could be knocked up that could give you access to all kinds of information.
Cheers

I, for one, would like to see a G15 LCD program to show ammo status as default with popups for who's speaking on EVE-Voice and also for skill training ending (perhaps a configurable countdown defaulting to the last 10 seconds) so that, if a skill ends mid-fight or while sitting there keeping eyes on the enemy, you don't miss the skill ending. It would also be useful for the spreadsheet jockeys out there who could use it to see other key information (wallet or industry-related completions) while working on their profit-loss sheets.
I really think that CCP would be very popular if they were to task just one dev onto this job, given the number of people I've spoken to who use the G15... and that's not just PVPers either, so this would reach most people who play EVE. I'm sure that adapting the program for other LCDs or for a windows popup from the taskbar would not take THAT much more work either, for those without a G15 (or am I wrong there)?

Other LCD's might be tricky as I havent encountered a unified interface for any current generic lcd.
Windows messages are easy, pop ups, taskbar notifications, all made into one line or even half a line of code by the .NET framework. Truly a matter of seconds to add that functionality.

I'd rather have them work on problems instead of adding more things which could go wrong, while not at all being useful. What USE is it to check ammo/armor status if you can see it on your screen?
And yes, i have a G15. There's an addon for teamspeak (just google it), ventrillo has it's own support (I will concede that EVE voice, while I don't use it, would benefit from G15 support).

I was just thinking that the ammo status for the new weapon groups would stand out a little easier on the LCD (especially at 2 or 3 am when the eyes get blurry). Mainly I was just thinking of something that it would display all the time (I tend to use the clock anyhow, so would probably want that), but notifications of skills, research, construction and other useful things would be highly useful when you're in a different window. With T2 invention, module construction, base item construction and then final item construction, it can take a lot of organising on a spreadsheet and anything that helps you in such an operation will be useful.
Also, I didn't mention WHICH client the ammo count would be for (or indeed your implied suggestion of shields/armour/hull). If you could set it to run for just one client, I'm sure there are Dread pilots out there who'd love to monitor cap levels as well as those already mentioned, or industrial pilots who would like to monitor their miner's cargo hold levels while doing something in another client window (eg hauling, scouting a gate, preparing an evac jump clone, etc).
If they allowed a wide range of selectable information to be displayed, each user could then decide on what they wanted to display perhaps? I would suggest perhaps a universal "task bar popup" program would be the way to go initially and then add in G15 or other display modules as extras anyhow.
I know I keep 2 clients on the same computer and I know that others either do the same or have other characters on a seperate computer. The seperate computer users would be out of luck (unless you somehow set up a relay system to broadcast the data from the client to another computer for that popup program to pick up - useful, but probably too complicated to be worthwhile).
But then maybe I'm getting too complicated here...
And yeah, I used to use TS, so I know the one you mean, but I noticed the EVE window getting slightly crowded when using EVE Voice during my stay in the Militia - being able to display even that information and being able to free up more screen to see what's going on would be useful I think.

Thanks BW - I learned Pascal (and also know BASIC and some C++) at college all those years ago, but I've never managed to get my head around OOP, so windows programming has largely passed me by... (hey I'm PROUD of my VB "Hello World" program, OK?)

I use G-buttons for drone commands on mine, thats about the most useful thing on my G15.
