hi there,
so far I've been doing lvl 4's in a myrmidon and having fun but it's slow.. almost each part of enemies abound took 1-2 hours (was getting 20m+ for each part though) and I want something better, faster and stronger.
My skills arent the best but they arent the worst either. I've got some decent drone skills and decent gunnery skills. Tanking skills are ok aswell.
My skills
I used a Domi for lvl 3's and found it to be easy but slow at the same time, haven't tried one for lvl 4's.
so, could someone out there tell me what is the best gallente ship for lvl 4's and what would be the best fit? I just started playing again 2 months ago after a 2 year break so alot is new to me

The best Gallente ships for Level 4 missions are the Dominix and the Navy Megathron (or Kronos). You want to pick up Tech II sentry drone skills ASAP. I use this setup against Kinetic/Thermal enemies:
[Dominix, Dio's Dominix - Sentry copy 2] Armor Kinetic Hardener II Armor Kinetic Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Damage Control II Medium Armor Repairer II Large Armor Repairer II
Omnidirectional Tracking Link I Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II
350mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L 350mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L 350mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L 350mm Railgun II, Antimatter Charge L Drone Link Augmentor I Drone Link Augmentor I
Capacitor Control Circuit I Capacitor Control Circuit I Sentry Damage Augmentor I
Warden II x5 Garde II x5 Hammerhead II x5 Hobgoblin II x5 Vespa II x5

As you're really not too far away from marauders (with T2 rails), I would suggest the Kronos if you have the cash for one. I've just started flying one and it's a lot of fun. Here's my setup:
Highs 4x 425mm Railgun 2 3x Tractor beam (I just collect a lump of wrecks and come back in a separate ship)
Mids 1x Domination web 2x Tracking computer w/ both scripts / Or 1x tracking comp 1x afterburner 1x Heavy cap booster 2 w/ 800s
(As you can see this is not a perma-tank. Use your outrageous cargo hold for something useful and free up rigs/midslots for damage by using booster charges. If you have a decent internet connection you shouldn't have to perma-tank. Use the guns to reduce incoming DPS. I've used at most 4 cap charges in a mission when I messed up the aggro)
Lows 1x Amarr Navy Large Armor Repper 3x Rat spec hardeners 3x Mag field stabs (anything less is a crime)
Rigs 2x Armor rep amount rigs / 1x armor rep rig 1x optimal rig
Drones Whatever mix of mediums/lights you want for taking out close-orbiting frigates. I never take heavies as I find they never make it to the target before my guns take it down. Use them to take out the annoying frigs instead. Although, once the domination web stops the frigates you can down them in 1-2 railgun shots anyway if you're stationary.
This ship can throw out a ton of DPS and at decent range. While it doesn't quite have the versatility of the Golem with it's set damage type, it can also hit something beyond 50km, so I think it balances out with the Golem for a lot of missions and beats it when you're doing some missions against Kin/therm opponents.
Also, you'll need maxed armor and maxed capacitor skills to really fly this one as it should be flown. Gun tracking at 5 also helps and Marauders at 4 at least.
Have fun.

I concur with FTs setup. It is very portable, just pack 2x of each damage type hardeners and rack of each damage type sentries and you can easily switch for the appropriate mission. Very nice to not be dependent on cap boosters, tanks a ton, and its great for watching movies while doing lv4s. I try a Navy Mega from time to time as gunnery skills improve, and it is more exciting to actually move, but I still return to the Domi for range, effectiveness, tank, and ability to sentry tank, and the benefit of sentries auto targeting while jammed or damped.

Just as a measure of how much I love my Domis - I have three. One is fitted out for explosive damage, one for EM, and the other for kinetic and thermal. That way I don't have to switch hardeners or drone types between missions. While I love my Navy Megathron, it just isn't quite as good as the Dominix when it comes to efficiently processing Level 4 missions. ------------

Out of curiosity :) ... though a bit off topic ...
How does a Dominix compare to Raven/CNR/Golem for level 4 missions?

It's a Kronos. I use the 425mm railguns to take out the close-orbiting frigates. They rarely survive more than one piece of ammunition. ________________________________________________

When I run missions, I usually use two accounts - one in a Dominix and the other in a CNR. The Dominix, with Tech II sentry drones, seems slightly superior to my cruise CNR. Not so much that I think my CNR is useless, but it does seem slightly more effective. ------------

Edited by: The Djego on 10/10/2008 19:53:32 Looking at your skills I would say Domi.
In my Opinon it¦s the Kronos(have flown the Domi 1.5 years).
My Kronos is like this:
4x 425er II, Drone Link, Tractor/Salvager 2x Tracking Comps, Cap recharger II, Web/AB(depends on the Mission and the NPCs) LAR II, 2Hardner + EANM/ 1 Hardner + 2x EANM, 3x MFS(faction ones are quite good here)
2 CCC(got 1 CCC and 1 Locus Rig once but switched because I often run 2 Acconts and need a bit more cap stability when not paying 100% of the atention to it all the time)
3x Sentrys, 5x Med T2 Drones
Kronos offers a bit more Damage than a Armortanked Domi(could be outdone by a Shield tanked one) but offers more Range, better gun tracking and is quite nice for Missions where you have Drone aggro or respawns. Because of the stronger Web, you can even use the Sentrys at very close range, I usely only use the Med Drones against things that orbit close but out of web range, spawns with tons of Frigs or if you have to move away from a spawn/flying to the next gate etc.
If you know the Missions and have good Skills the ship can do nearly full Damage all the time and even do things like Recon/AE Bonus with this kind of light Tank(compared to many other better tanked Mission Ships including the Domi) without even worring about the tank at all.

What a good idea!
Domi is the way to go. I really don't see a Raven being that much better. Plus you need to babysit the damn thing. Prepare to clickety-click to keep firing all those missiles. Good chance of that getting real old real fast.
Gallente might no be that great for PvP (or so I hear), but they've got mission-running pretty much locked. |

Gallente are quite cool for people that like solo or small Gang mutch(like Minmatar but with the oposide thinking about web range ).
But if the speed/web nerf comes like it was on sissi, everything beside of the Drone Ships will be kind of screwed since you can¦t actualy hit anymore good enught at your combat range. ---- Nerf Tank - Boost Gank!
