Please visit your user settings to re-enable images. The Khanid Bookstore has published its monthly results on its website here (igb compatible.
The main results are (with in brackets the results for the Parses franchise): Sales Volume (pieces): 418 (96) Turnover (millions): 206 (4) ASP (ISK): 494,393 (45,389) EPS (ISK): 27,524
The figures show a dramatic drop in sales. The month has been by some distance the worst in the history of the Bookstore. Where last months the sales volume was a healthy 2089 books, this month we barely sold a quarter of that. And even during the month sales dropped on a week-by-week basis.
After two full quarters of operation we can also show the sales volumes during those 6 months (of 4 weeks each).
Please visit your user settings to re-enable images. The picture, as is so often the case, sells more than a thousand worth. Which might make it a good plan to start selling comics, rather than skillbooks.
Is there anything positive to report? Yes there is. First of all, we can conclude that the Khanid Bookstore's goal of providing affordable education to the Khanid Kingdom (at least to the area near the homeworld) has succeeded and spectacularly so. Secondly, the increased co-operation with the Khanid authorities has led to a major increase in our license. We are now able to sell more skillbooks than ever before. Sadly, there is just nobody really to buy them.
But apart from that, the picture is bleak. While the financial position of the Bookstore is strong and lacks any dependence on credit markets it is clear that these kind of sales demand a serious evaluation on the future of the Bookstore. During the coming month the management will hold extensive talks with our main shareholder on the best path forward. Once these discussions have born fruit we will report on them.
In the meantime, the Bookseller wishes to re-assure everybody that the Bookstore will remain open for business. |

Hopefully this is only a brief downward trend. With the news of the "imposter" you mentioned in another thread I am confident once he is dealt with the Bookstore will return to its previous sales levels.

Perhaps you can look onto these results, and see that it is not a downward trend that you are seeing, but a light within the distance, a light that is beckoning you to expand.
