*Inara appears to have just left the shower, her hair still wet and wearing a dark blue silk robe. She is distracted packing away several articles of clothing, none of which seem to fit her "normal" attire, including a rugged pair of boots. Her attention never really meets the screen when she starts talking, and she occasionally stops speaking while pondering the packing process.*
Jall'n has asked me to take her camping. Apparently one of her classmates told her that's what they did with their parents during their last break and she's taken hold of the idea and ran with it. Eight year olds can be quite stubborn and persuasive (or I'm just growing soft), either way, I will be away from most any form of communication for about a week.
Should an emergency arise, and I do mean emergency, you should be able to visit the sixth planet of Rancer and speak with one of my slaves. They know the area in which I am going to be, and should be able to find me in a reasonable amount of time. If you do call on me, and cut my mother/daughter bonding time short, for a frivolous matter, I promise to do everything in my power to seek retribution (including having one of my slaves pay off CONCORD to allow them to hunt you down).
I'm leaving my affairs in the hands of one of my foremen, one of the more trustworthy slaves I own, so production should not slip in my absence. He has the authority to call them to arms in my absence, so to all you "freedom fighters" who wish to liberate my property... Well, you have been warned, they will defend their homes and families at the expense of their lives if they must.
My sole Pilot slave is wrapping up some business that I already have her attending to, and should be enjoying a small break. I believe I told her to spend some time with her own daughter, who is living on Rancer, attending the same school as my little Jall'n in fact (though a few years older). Her progress with her assignments is quite remarkable, I recommend all Holders consider the possibility of either enslaving another Pilot, or possibly training one of your own slaves to become a 'Podder'.
*Apparently satisfied for the moment with the contents of her pack, she focus' on the open channel*
May you fly safe until my return. And may your enemies' corpses bounce from the hull of your ship.

A camping holiday sounds nice. Should be fun.
I don't know the planet in question, but i'd suggest making sure you have some insect bite relief cream.
Enjoy yourselves, you'll love it!

I suppose our dinner will have to wait for another week. Do let me know when you return so I can make arrangements for my visit to Rancer.

Indeed, Pil-- ... Miss Subaka, it sounds as if your are enjoying one of the small rewards of parenting. I myself find that Lesharu and Shian often insist that I spend each Restday with them, usually on some small trip or outing.
Its a quiet time where I can escape the daily demands of my position and responsibilities. If you have such opportunities, I suggest you grab them where and when you can. Regardless, my best wishes to you on your trip.
May the Light of God guide you.

Oh, and... I second the suggestion about the insect spray, as well as a topical cream for the inevitable plant sap, enzyme, juice, or whatnot that causes rashes, bumps, itching or general annoyance. |
