The Caldari Militia fleets have spent the past month inflicting heavy casualties on the Gallente militia. Many Gallente loyalists, such as FOOM, have abandoned their people. Now, as Tibus Heth continues his historic and vital take over of Caldari Prime, rooting out rebels in every corner, the Caldari Militia stands behind him and grows stronger. It was a week ago that I proclaimed that one half of Villore now belongs to the Caldari Militia after day after day the Gallente failed to push our Caldari fleet out. Even some Gallente Fleet Commanders have admitted, their militia is in a state of confusion and decline.
There seems to be little resistance coming from the Gallente Militia and when they do bring a size-able fleet, it is utterly annihilated by superior Caldari tactics, ships and personnel. I could go on and on about the superior work ethic of the Caldari people that has led to this embarrassing time for the Federation but i will not. My goal here now is to appeal to the Gallente for a prisoner exchange, even more an exchange of ideas on how to end the fighting. Tibus Heth and the Caldari leaders will ultimately decide the fate of the defeated Federation however now may be a good time for such a proud empire to humble itself and face reality, as the past month has demonstrated, defeat is near for them.
Any Gallente fleet commander who has an interest in peace and saving the lives of his soldiers can contact Victoria Ehr at any time, we will set up a prisoner exchange using haulers. If the media has time for such an event then all the better, why not bring a message of hope to people, or perhaps the media does not have time for messages of hope?
Having worked for the Gallente Navy in the past, I have great respect for many of them. However I know that the Gallente are a lazy and arrogant people and so war does them no good. Now is the time for peace before the Caldari under the supreme guidance of Tibus Heth decides one planet is not enough.
-------------------------------------------- Glory to the State and Tibus Heth.

Edited by: Myxx on 03/10/2008 05:17:39 The Federation is slow to wake up and even slower to react. If my sources inside the Federation are correct, revenge comes. Soon. You should see this yourself if recent going ons have any indication.
You are being tolerated with Caldari prime merely because of the other possible outcomes to taking it back. Take it for what you will, I think the entire war is silly as heck.
By the way, its entirely pointless to claim your wars have any impact on the actual outcome in the state of affairs. They really don't. You're involving yourself in a conflict via proxy. ----

Ms. Myxx, you seem to think that a proxy war has no real effect, or that it is meaningless to the proxy.
... I'm reasonably certain that the dead on both sides would beg to differ, were they able. This is a limited war-- artificially so, as is any war so limited. I'm not at all sure that this makes it any less a war.
That said ...
Ms. Ehr, it wasn't so long ago that the Gallente were saying the self-same things of us that you now say of them. It's likely to prove just as embarrassing, should the war turn again. I agree that talks to try to bring this conflict to an end would be for the best, but generally speaking triumphalism doesn't lend itself very much to bringing the other side to terms. In my experience at least, it breeds an urge to slit the speaker's throat.
Modest words and undeniable control seem to work best, and I'd suggest we pursue this course. I'll be seeking to work out what small part I can play in moving in this direction in the coming days; this is not a battlefield to which I'm much accustomed.

To be honest, this communication is laughable. You cannot control your own systems, why act like you are driving forward and winning. The Caldari and Gallente militia's both suffered heavily to Pandemic Legions occupation of Tama, which continues on. A week ago, Victoria herself suffered losses at the hand of our numerically lesser but tactically superior forces. Quite a turn around. The Drake Menace over the skies of the Tama system, the heartland of Caldari Space, mere jumps from Jita, has been broken. All Hail Glorious UberWaffeFurher Saint Schala and his continuing drive to reclaim Tama in the new name of Piracy!
P.S. Your Superior Work Ethic of the Caldari People seems to include lemming like tactics of jumping through a gate to lowsec without a scout, when goodly folks in local are saying its camped heavily. I wish that this work ethic is never ended, its good for my business. Strategic Business. From a lazy and arrogant people of Caldari.

Your not the first 00 rejects to enlarge epeens on the milita and I very much doubt your be the last. The war will carry on and no doubt still be raging long after your little Tama occupation.

Edited by: PaddyPaddy Nihildarnik on 03/10/2008 17:45:19 Edited by: PaddyPaddy Nihildarnik on 03/10/2008 17:40:27 Ha, Ive got to say all of these little snippets are quite humourous, particularly yours Victoria. Are you still persisting about trying to sniff up a news item with your face on the front?
I wouldnt exactly say that the Gallente Militia is completely down and out. According to the artificial scoreboards, we are still ahead on this facard of a war. Gods and Exotic Dancers forbid that the Federation actually does go to war wholesale on the State, you would find quite the homecoming of our corps into the FDU. Till then I suspect that this tit-for-tat proxy war will continue to petter out as our more professional and autonomous attachments seek fame and glory elsewhere.
Apart from the irrelevance of your theatrical "prisoner exchange" (mentioned to me nearly 2mths ago), I would now have to question your honor in such an undertaking.
Less than a week ago whilst I was roaming unopposed though much of Black Rise I stumbled upon Ms Ehr and several of her cohorts. As is common with the State Protectorate, their demeanor and level of gentlemanly manners was typically lacking. Ehr had the audacity to challenge me to a duel to the death on the stargate to Nennamalia in the Hikkoken system if im not mistaken.
The fight could have been truely epic, each of us in our nations charismatic flagships- Ehr in a Drake class battlecruiser and myself in the aging but trustworthy Brutix. Despite the Drake being on paper a more advanced and expensive design I did not hesitate to engage Ehr at her chosen grave.
The battle proceeded quickly with Brutix quickly tackling and closing to range on the Drake. Within less than 2min her drakes propulsion and warp systems had been either disabled or severely disrupted, all the while the superiority of Gallente drones and weapon systems had disabled her targeting capabilities and her shield defenses being battered by Navy Issue Antimatter rounds. With Ehr near dead in space, shield systems under complete failure and several kilometres off the Stargate, Ehr decided that Caldari "honor" and "pride" only extended to the safety of massed fleets and local smack talk.
She promptly struggled towards the Nenna stargate and rather than holding true to her duel, signaled to be jumped out of system, to the disgust of her comrades watching on in local.
Truely a poor showing from a militia that is apparently inflicting heavy casualties, demoralising their enemy and far superior in tactics and honor.
Ehr- you lost alot of respect that day on the field. I would have thought that such a dishonorable performance on the field would curb your lust for fame and silence your baseless insinuations about the state of the FDU. Coming forth with this blatant attempt at show ponying has forced my hand to reveal your true character, lest a more gullible FDU FC would be so foolish as to take you up on your offer.
Communication logs are availiable for public viewing upon request.
Ehr- you owe me one dead Drake.

Dear Paddy,
I am not sure why you have taken that exhibition duel so personally? It promised you a one on one fight, i never promised you a kill.
When i asked for the duel with you it was merely out of curiosity. I have great respect for you Paddy, the Intel i get about you is very good. We have agreed on some important issues as well. So i thought you would enjoy a little challenge.
My ship was not prepared for the fight, the Drake was returning from a large battle, it was out of faction ammo and had no drones, i knew i had little advantages. I also asked the caldari ships in local to honor my request for the one on one fight which they did honor, will you give no credit for that? Your drones had my Drake jammed, i could do nothing, while i chased you off the gate, how can you blame my ship for trying to get back to the gate when I could not fire a shot?
I was careless to offer the one on one fight out of respect for you paddy but i am not stupid to just let you destroy my ship when i have the chance to save her from certain loss.
So the whole point of the fight was to show you can trust me but yet you take personally that i chose to save my ship as an insult, why? I owe you no kill or loss, i have given you my respect at great risk and receive scorn in return. Would you rather i have called the Caldari ships in local down upon you instead of staying true to the fight?
Do not let politics and your frustration for the state of the Gallente Militia cloud your emotions Paddy, i encourage you to consider my prisoner exchange.
------
Dear Princess Guard,
I remember your name quite well from my days in contract with Bruce alliance. Our ships flew together while in the Graduates. Now you are a pilot for the very alliance that led to the downfall of Bruce, how appropriate.
I have great respect for the Pandemic Legion. The fight in Tama was not of my choosing yet i stayed to support our fleet commanders. You see, a Caldari does not always agree with their leaders but they are a disciplined and hard working race. While i can make suggestions to the fleet commander, ultimately it is his choice in battle that is followed.
I lost a Drake in that fight regrettably, though i will never regret following the orders of the great fleet commander who has won far more battles than he has lost.
All Hail Tibus Heth and those who serve the Caldari Militia, o7 -------------------------------------------- Glory to the State and Tibus Heth.

So, as an FDU captain, you are admitting to the practice of executing prisioners or killing those who have surrendered? The shining light of democracy and human rights indeed.

Gods, Demented can be so blasted stupid ...
Pilots, "not taking prisoners" is all very well when you don't have the brig space, but otherwise could you kindly mind the impression you leave for a watching public?
Kostantin Mort has a point when he suggests that, at the war's conclusion, humanity may well decide that it has no further use for us. Though that possibility doesn't much bear on my decision to involve myself, let's please not encourage that conclusion?
Atrocity is atrocity no matter what side you're on, and enough of it on all sides will make us all look like a disastrous mistake. You don't need to care about Caldari or Gallente or Amarr or Minmatar lives to see this; if you can care for no other life, look to your own.

An utterly laughable declaration. Villore is firmly in the grip of the Gallente Federation and your ability to attack Gallente or Minmatar militia wartargets has absolutely no bearing on the operation and security of the system and its uninvolved inhabitants. I was able, a few days ago, to penetrate as far as Jita (right through the Nourvokaiken gatecamp on the Tama gate - a place where the majority of the Caldari Militia sit because they're too afraid to venture into Tama) with my shuttle, and despite some lacklustre efforts to chase me I was able to complete the business I had there. Have I claimed to hold half of Jita? I think not.
Originally by: Victoria Ehr Even some Gallente Fleet Commanders have admitted, their militia is in a state of confusion and decline.
Ah, weasel words. Perhaps you would like to provide names and cited sources for that?
Originally by: Victoria Ehr There seems to be little resistance coming from the Gallente Militia and when they do bring a size-able fleet, it is utterly annihilated by superior Caldari tactics, ships and personnel.
What nonesense. The only time I've been even a little bit impressed at anything the Caldari Militia have done in the last few days was with how many ships Mentally Unstable Enterprises needed to bring down four cruisers and one interceptor - and two of those afforementioned ships escaped. I've been in Gallente fleets in my Blackbird and not received a single point of damage, nor had any serious trouble with enemy ECM - an obvious case of fleet commander ineptitude.
Originally by: Victoria Ehr I could go on and on about the superior work ethic of the Caldari people that has led to this embarrassing time for the Federation but i will not. Isn't it a bit too soon to declare the Gallente Federation defeated, just after we took back the only system of ours you still had under your control, and we still hold one of yours? You are not the State, Victoria Ehr, no matter how much you might like to think it. You imagine Tibus Heth to be an eternal leader - he's transitory. He's only useful so long as he keeps bringing victory, and if he falters, which, at some point, he will... well, it's curtains for him. The best he can hope for is to disappear to some backwater in quiet disgrace and live out the rest of his years somewhere where he can do no harm.
What's more likely, you might ask? Well, let me just say this: look up the Morning of Reasoning - and if you think it's going to be any different for Heth, you are impressively self-deluded. |

Edited by: Josef Odinssen on 04/10/2008 18:48:35 Caution young Privateer,
Remember pride comes before a fall, even for a Caldari.
I was firmly opposed to the renewal of the war and its conduct by militia forces who lack the tactical experience of our foe in order to effect a meaningful campaign. Long Serving Officers are quick to point out that seemingly "over-powering victories" are often merely the long deep breath before the lunge, perhaps the young privateer needs to return and study her military history a little more closely at the State War Acadamy before making certain prophetic statements.
I have written a number of letters over the years to mothers of Brave Caldari Naval Officers who dived headlong into the fight only to be flanked and cut-off - our foe is cunning and tactically adept, the measure of the Militia thus far fielded are more than likely simple scouting parties so my former Colleagues of the Federation Navy can assess Caldari Tactics and probe for weakspots, i am most certain that should the Federation deploy its principal forces in any great numbers the entire Militia would fold at the first sign of the fearsome Heavy armor of their Battleships.
This entire conflict is little more than a sideshow for Heth's political rhetoric appealing to certain Caldari Historical feelings of Military superiority - but we should look to the past that never have we been able to gain a decisive victory with most skirmishes being fought to a resounding stalemate.
Today more than ever before our squabbling ruling CEO's are more concerned with profit than victory, therefore i see it entirely unrealistic that should the Militia suffer substantial losses the CEO's would not be prepared to risk shareholder value from the loss of the expensive Naval Fleet Issue Ships, therefore should the Federation raise the stakes Heth will indeed be forced to negotiate.
I do not feel further conflict is in the best interest of the Caldari People, had the beligerance of the ruling oligarch's not be allowed to run unabated for so long and proper diplomacy been put in place we could have returned to Caldari Prime in peace many years ago to the benefit of our trade links.
As for prisoner exchange, the Caldari Navy makes it quite clear that an officer should sooner take their own life than suffer defeat and loss of their ship, the withdrawl of privateers to save their equipment in preference to saving Caldari Honor simply exposes the weakness of fighting a war via profiteering contractors.
The defeat by the Pandemic simply underligns that Heth would be better off employing pirates to fight this particular politcal stage show.
People often consider me to be disloyal, but a true Caldari would not waste a single life on such folly, had we any realistic prospect of reclaiming our homeland by force i would be in full support - but whilst the Caldari remain governed by the politics of profit this will simply never happen.

And all of this she did before the war actually started. Strangely enough, just after the war began and the Caldari had a period on top, she went silent, and we have not heard from her ever since.
I wish you would follow her example.

Again Pilot Hoff I must caution you against ****ing of potential clients, if youÆre serious about being a merc.
Any stalemate between belligerents could provide lucrative mercenary work for one side or the other in order to break the dead lock.
Use common sense eh?
Also the well being and humane treatment of prisoners of war is matter of honour and practicality, for a mercenary everyone is a potential client, or a potential commodity... For empires POWs can be valuable political tools and bargaining chips with which to secure the release of their own soldiers.
