Why do people think that other gamers and basement dwellers would care that somebody quit playing? I don't understand the need for people to rant about how they decided to stop playing a game? I understand CCP wants to know why, so they can fix something if it is broken. But what other gamer really cares? And why do they get all angry and ****y when people tell them to shut up and hand over their stuff?
On a side note, I can understand the simple "Goodbye, I'll be back". But the emorage quitting combined forum ranting needs to stop, really. It isn't even funny anymore.
*Figured everyone else was ranting, so why can't I.

Edited by: Paramite Pies on 02/10/2008 05:34:38 For the obligatory, "Can I have your stuff?" post.
That's what it's really all about. __________________ Yes, my other ride is a Slog. |

98% - The last attempt to get some attention 1% - All your stuff are belong to someone else 1.5% - Trying to get laid (as if any non-eve babes would read this forum anyway... ) - As for the remaining, gotta have at least one post on the forums

Exactly! 100.5% of usefulness in the quit post threads. That was the general idea, not a typo.

While I only ever read "i quit" posts and doomsayers predicting that this game will die because it's not as accessible as whatever mainstream MMO they are coming from when I'm in a mood for tragedy, deep down I find these kinds of posts insulting to our intelligence and self worth. When some random newbie or anonymous veteran goes on to, basically, tell us that we're playing a crappy game and they are not happy with the service they are given, it's like the rest of us players are fools for not seeing what he saw that made him quit.
Really now. You can't tell a Metallica fan that Metallica sucks and expect it to lead anywhere good. To the fan, the only logical way to interpret it is to assume that you're trying to "convert" him into a Metallica hater. The fan might think you find him weakminded and susceptible to change his opinion of his favourite band, which is an insult. If you don't like Eve, is your opinion really significant enough to be worth posting on a forum that is full of people that love the game? Spare us your concerns for the game, you're talking to deaf ears.
I think "Good bye" posts are fair though. Letting old friends and familiars know that you won't be seen online for an indefinite time is nice, and wishing everyone good luck and enjoyment in the game is a kind and polite gesture. _______ Griefing is to ruin a friendly game, which Eve is not. |

Its like when people try to kill themselves but do it in a public place so you can rush over and talk them out of it.
