I'm a relatively new player wanting to pvp in a Zealot. Before I spend time learning the skills for the ship moduals that I want to fit, I was wondering if this is a decent setup for this ship. Are there any improvements?
Lows: Heat Sink II (x3) Co-Processor II Medium Armor Repair II (x2) Tracking Enhancer II Mids: Medium Capacitor Booster II (With 800 Script) Stasis Webifier II Warp Scrambler II Highs: Heavy Pulse Laser II (x5) (Conflagration) Rigs Ancillary Current Router II Ancillary Current Router I
Thats what I'm thinking though I hope to find a way that I dont need those rigs to raise my powergrid.
Thanks ahead of time ~Dizzy Diz

You need to tell us what kind of pvp youre going to do. Solo? Gang? 0.0?
Generally youll need mwd and generally plating is better then dual repping. ----------------------------------------- [Video] Support Barrage |

Are you planning on using crazy armor regen to outlast the guy at close range? You'll be eating up boosters, with timing problems. And poor resists to boot.
Drop a rep and fit at least one EANM II. And if you want even more lasting power, trade a sink for a plate. And if you know you'll be going for easy gangs and against the thinner ships only, buffer. It's what everyone does these days...

Okay, I'm planning to do Solo/Small Gang PvP'ing...Thats what I'm planning on going for in the begining.
Pard my "noobishness" but would you please clarify what "MWB" stands for?
So far from what I get I should drop the Heat Sinks adding some armor plates and adding a EANM II for my low slots
Doing this would I really need the Cap Booster II anymore?

Drop any idea you have of doing much solo to begin with. Find a good small gang of competent people, and get to know them if you don't. Solo is risky shit, and you won't build much capital.
Not more than one plate. You do not want to fly that kind of tub of lard, and HACs rely on resists and maneuvering competence more to avoid damage. Which is why they don't have the same 'wall of lead' properties as Battleships. And why they aren't as much 'easy mode'. Don't drop all of the heatsinks, damnit.
'MWD' stands for 'Mandatory Warp Drive'. Use it.
The cap booster should stay on, if you're not planning on flying as a sniper. Something to recharge your cap additionally might be good too.

What rigs should I aim for then? What ways can I increase my powergrid besides those rigs. My weapons are taking up so much of my power grid I need them.

Trimarks, damage rigs, range rigs.
If you need more powergrid, downgrade to FMP II. Heavy Pulse Laser IIs are very demanding on grid.
And ffs, don't use t2 rigs. It's a horrible waste of money. __________________________________

Edited by: InsanlyEvlPerson on 02/10/2008 02:21:12 Try getting AWU 4-5, and if planning on using weapon rigs, get energy weapon rigging 3-4, that'll help... and i HOPE you have engeneering/electronics 5. other than that, ACR rigs, PG implants...

This thread has a good collection of fittings and some comments on all of them, with varying qualities.
(Not trying to plug my own thread, but hey it's a recent thread with like 20 setups in it) __________________________________

Yikes... first off a few things.
You said you were a new player, you're now thinking of flying a zealot with a T2 rig? Do you realise how much that would cost you? Do you have that kind of ISK to lose(think 500M/ship)?
I really suggest you working on fitting skills as you shouldn't need a co-processor and should only need 1 power grid rig(of the T1 variety). This allows you to switch one of your rigs to a thermal resist rig for armor, which you REALLY need to fill in a the huge thermal gap. Also dropping the co-processor you can fit something else like an ANM(likely won't have the fittings to get an EANM), along with some compensation skills can boost your survivability a bit.
I also recommend ditching the tracking enhancer and downgrading to meta 3-4 items for your web/point so you can fit a DC II. Also change the conflag crystals out for AN multifreq and scorch.
These changes would give you a huge survivability boost while only loosing a bit of tracking/range(not a big deal on pulses). Although dual MAR is a little unorthodox on a zealot for a reason, you're going to need to stay very close to a source of 800 charges as you can't carry many and you have to keep burning them for your cap unless you stick to scorch and try and out range people a lot(450 DPS past @ 30km is pretty decent).
You end up with something more like this:
Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Medium Armor Repairer II Medium Armor Repairer II Damage Control II Adaptive Nano Plating II
Medium Electrochemical Capacitor Booster I, Cap Booster 800 Faint Warp Prohibitor I Fleeting Propulsion Inhibitor I
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Ancillary Current Router I Anti-Thermic Pump I
Personally I recommend a plated fit though, that way you don't have to worry about cap boosters just need to fit a station to repair at. -=^=- "Someday the world will recognize the genius in my insanity." |

I you're relatively new to game probably are even more new to PVP. I'd suggest to stay with T1 ships while you learn the basics and start to be confident in pvp situations.

honestly, for anythign other than hisec fights, i wouldnt een consider a zealot... not gonna get much more EHP than a plated harb, and the harb hurts more. ---------------------------------------------

Edited by: VicturusTeSaluto on 02/10/2008 13:47:53 how the hell did the op get to have enough isk to purchase such a setup as the one in the first post without even developing a grasp on the fundamentals of ship fittings?
You should almost never(and much closer to never!) use fitting mods on a ship. Also, lasers already have uber tracking. Yes t2 close range ammo also sucks.
