I would like to set up my small pvp corp in an area near 0.0, but still high or low sec. Preferably not too very busy (i know thats asking alot, seeing how most pipes to 0.0 are fairly populated) without much in the way of current residents.
So ya... just having trouble figuring out ideas for a decent spot. My plan is to move to npc 0.0 when we get a bit bigger, but ya... any ideas? Any other small pvp entities looking for decent neighbors to pew pew or help bolster their force in an area?

Orvolle. You are 1 jump from Syndicate and if you move in late East Coast US time, you will be unmolested. If you wait until the weekend, there will be a bubble waiting on you.
Seriously though, it's a good spot. Depending on time of day, the population will be light to heavy. Dirty Alt |

You could talk to CVA and see if they're willing not to shoot you for a while.
Most 0.0 choke points are perma-camped. You'd be better off setting up in an NPC region than trying to commute to 0.0 from empire.
Depending on when you play N-RAEL can be a decent entry point too. Right after downtime it's russian-o-riffic, but US evenings are not bad. The surrounding areas have been deserted ever since smashkill got evicted.

Edited by: Fearoth Nartuul on 30/09/2008 21:51:03 Yes we are US tz. And not afraid of a little pew pew. Also not asking for a spot with a bunch of good moons I can have, taking them will come in time when we are more capable. Just dont want too many heavy hitters in there, ones that should be in 0.0, based on their size, but arent. Orvolle+surrounding has appeared to be a good area, connections to a few different regions.
As far as CVA, my corp is already on their KOS list. I am also not keen on NRDS, and dont wanna live there and rub elbows with so many people. I am not needing the moon just yet, I will work for it, just wondering if people had any ideas on a decent spot to start. Alot of guys know of quiet areas, but have no use for them as they are in bigger entities.

Just don't go to Aridia. Maybe for a visit, but don't stay long. Trust me. Same goes for the north low sec or ending up there in the NPC space.
If your corp is into PvP you should get a small office in the pipe from Amarr to CVA space and go about one pipe down, one pipe up. You got the benefit of running empire missions, market. You got the benefit of ****ing CVA even more (can you be more than KOS?) and ****ing off the other roamers. It should be a good starting point.
You can move east from there through pieces of NPC space and low sec all the way to north-east. Lots of pirates and PvPing types roam around there and you will get some fights.
Another good place for a small base might be off the main roads to Syndicate. From there you can hop into Syndicate when it is convenient and have some fun or npcing. Also the area is frequently hit by pirate corps and the FW crowd.
Now you can combine these to bases and use them alternatively. When you get tired or some big shot corp passes by (which goes for a few weeks) you just relocate to the other base, do your thing, then repeat.
The south is less blobby and there is more turmoil there, you can do hit and runs into Syndicate, Querious, Catch, Providence, Curse, Great Wildlands and as your corp grows you can hit harder into deeper 0.0.
Just my unadvised advice. o/

Edited by: Varus Riaz on 01/10/2008 00:17:29 Placid, particularly the area around Stacmon. It's currently devoid of any major players. You'll still see the occasional Red Skull gang, but they're less of a presence now that they're involved in Syndicate.
Most of the rest of the corps and alliances you'll encounter are smaller/newer entities. These range in scope from bleeding heart carebears to a bevy of smaller pirate corporations and everything in between.
The antipirate presence at the moment is severely weak. Pro-Fed RP corps, the traditional defenders of Placid, have been drawn off by the advent of FW. The heirs to their occupation are a series of small, weak anti-pirate entities that are hopelessly outclassed by all but the newest of pirates. Given time, these anti-pies might grow into something more respectful, but right now they just aren't a threat.
All in all, it's a great place for a smaller pvp corp to be at the moment.

Being a PvP corp in a quiet area is just asking for boredom, in my opinion. Even low sec "hot spots" are easy to fly around in if you are careful.
Anywhere in Placid should be good, parts of Black Rise are pretty quiet as well.

As an above poster said, the area of placid around the stacmon system is a good location at present, if you're thinking of establishing a low sec pos without much hassle, theres a group of 7 inter-connected lo-sec systems (amoen/avaux/aubonnie/amasiree/ruerotta/gallusiene/hedoubel) with an abundance of free moons in that area.
afaik there are some smaller/noobish pirate wannabee corps based there, but it has the advantages of being situated beside hi-sec and only several jumps away from the higher-traffic areas of placid such as ostingele, iges, covryn (sic) etc.... and reasonably near to the entry points into 0.0 (syndicate).
I only heard of this area after invsting isk in a moon mining IPO scam some guy was running in one of the systems there, But it seems to be a good place to set up base in.
