We at Starfish have been accused of trying to splinter and weaken the Minmatar people by announcing our intention to expand the Minmatar influence by leaving the Republic. We are not going to stop fighting for our brothers and sisters, but to remain in Empire space made no sense. To remain in the Republic makes less sense, and yet, we are delaying our departure for a simple reason :
HeXstoof, a corporation that is in Faction Warfare for the Republic, is declaring war on other Minmatar corporations in high sec as a way of blackmail. Offering their protection for three months for a small fee. All with the blessing of the Republic and Concord. Their actions force smaller corps than ours to pay or flee to Amarr space to be safe. Such is the protection of Concord and the Republic. We see this as what is weakening the Minmatar people, and the Republic irreparably. We will not flee.
We prefer to save our bullets for Amarr, but at least they do have some Caldari in their corp. Unfortunately, it means we will also be killing Minmatar. Not something we ever wanted to do, and something that we will mourn.
Any Minmatar who would choose to prey on Minmatar, in Minmatar space, is no better than an Amarrian dog. In fact, I prefer the Amarrian dog. At least they have honour, as twisted as their sense of honour is.
HeXstoof : You chose the wrong corp to prey on. Hope your pods are comfy :)

Pitty is, such miscreants exist in all the militias. One of these days hopefully Concord and the militia brass will wake up and shift the red tape out of the way to prevent or deal with such.
Good luck with them...

I've never seen or even heard of this HeXstoof corporation. It's most likely that they are one of the few corporations who hide behind the militia banner for protection and power. This will not stand in the militia, the leadership of TLF forces will not allow such criminals to insult our own people.
Consider them officially black-listed by the Greater TLF Corporations. It makes no difference if they have Matari blood in their veins, their attempts to extort our people is a crime worthy of death.

The militia takes anyone. It's banner is no official sanction further than simple shooting the enemy goes, there is no guarantee whatsoever that corporations in the militia act honorably, and no one to reinforce any kind of RoE. This is a sad fact.
Why do you say you are leaving the Republic, if you are fighting those who turn against it under its own colors? You are still doing her work.

Elsebeth, we are, or rather, were, and will be, leaving the Republic only because we see a new form of governance that is an organic Minmatar one. Also because we believe that it is in the soul of our people to travel and expand our horizons, with all that that entails. We hope the new path SanMatar Shakor announced brings the Republic closer to us, but even if it doesn't, we will never forget that Amarr is the enemy of freedom, and the enemy of our people.

Sophie Starsparrow, I do not agree with your analysis of "All with the blessing of the Republic and Concord."
The reason corporations can get license to wage war on another corporation is so that the Republic and Concord do not have to get involved in something they have no wish to control. A blessing implies approval, not laissez faire.
Are you suggesting that the Republic has some duty of protection for corporations operating within its borders? I suggest that this would be contrary to the principles of what a corporation is.
That the miscreant corporation is signed up for service to the Minmatar militia is more a matter for us to sort out, as Eran Mintor suggested. The only corporation directly answerable to the Republic is the TLF, hence its inability to declare war independently. --------------------------------------- Outface the depths of evil with clarity --------------------------------------- |

What's ironic is the Amarr trying to look down their nose at the Matari over the actions of a group race traitors. All this while Amarr militia continue to declare war on each other, didn't "Series of Tubes" declare war on Slackers not so long ago?
Is the infighting in the Amarr camp the reason you need to field so many pirates and 'neutral entities' against the Tribal Liberation Force? How do we know HeXstoof were not employed by the Amarr to disrupt our forces?
At time of writing HeXstoof are not members of the Tribal Liberation Force.

Kade,I agree they should not control all such affairs. However, it was Concord that informed me of the declaration. You are probably right though, and I am confusing intentions. Maybe shooting the messenger? I do think a protection racket licensed by Concord is a little odd however, but whatever the rules are, there will be those that try to get around them.
Victoria, you failed to notice that the offending corp is a Minmatar/Caldari corp. I have noticed a movement among your people pushing for closer ties with the Republic and a split from the Amarr. I hope this is not the result of their efforts, a tribe loyal to nothing.
Thank you for the votes of support all. We have editing our standing with some of you to reflect our respect for your thoughts.

Things can be "sad" and "terrible" while remaining victories. All civil wars destroy a great deal, cause a long of pain and suffering. In the end they might lead to the creation of something new, but that doesn't change the extensive initial costs.

Hexstoof are indeed not in the Minmatar Militia and do NOT represent the greater Militia corps via their actions.
It really is a very weak and feeble way to announce the fact that you can not handle a war dec from a rival corp by blaming it on Minmatar Militia as the failing entity.
Many corps have joined thus far, to wreak havoc and disrupt the Minmatar cause, all have been blacklisted and found themselves scampering off with their tail between their legs.
Had you bothered to contact some of the driving forces behind Minmatar Militia and their supporters, you might have had more joy.
Instead I feel that perhaps you are the one with the alterior motives here and perhaps you are trying to ursurp the reputation of Minmatar Militia as a whole.
Nice plan, somewhat flawed....
Amarr has had more infighting than any other Militia to date, it hardly stops them from carrying on with their jobs...
Take a leaf out of their books...
One less whiney defunct corp to deal with in the fight for Matar freedom in my opinion. |

Yendaj, You assume to much. We shall have no problem dealing with this valueless group of cowards. Not only that, we shall ensure that other reprobates think twice before trying such a thing in Minmatar space. You also are not aware of the joy it brings me to do such a thing. They are no longer in the Militia, and this is as it should be. But they should also be punished so they do not go onto blackmail another Minmatar corp. We have found we are not the first of their own people they have turned against, but we vow it will be the last. We will do this. Not Concord. Not the Militia. And not you. We are just passing through this section of space, but we aim to leave every system we touch, safer for the Minmatar people. Can you say the same?

Obviously you have no idea who we are.... I will forgive you this.
Heretics has been fighting at the front lines since faction war began, making Minmatar a safer and better place to be in.... Not only that, but we are fighting daily for a cause we believe in..
When we were war dec'd by another Militia corp, we felt no need to run to Galnet and whine about it. We carried on fighting for our cause and left their stupidity in the hangar gutter systems where it belonged.
We also realise that if you truely want to fight for the freedom of the Minmatar, you undock your ships and put your money where your mouth is. Flying around from system to system trying to talk your way into freedom for the Minmatar doesnt quite cut it in my book.
Not when I see gallant Matar pilots dying on a daily basis for the cause they are willing to actually fight for, against the enemy.....
Not sitting cosily in the enemies home systems supping with them.
Were it not for the fact that you decided to bring the Minmatar Militia into this in your original communications, I wouldn't have found this worth commenting on at all..
The day you do as much for Minmatar and freedom that Heretic Militia and the rest of the corps that are still with us fighting on a daily basis, is the day I will give you any form of credit you think you deserve right now..
This to me is just some personal corp vs corp squabble that should have been left off the airwaves....
Or perhaps communicated in CAOD.

I think if you looked a bit closer, you will find that it is the crews that suffer, not the pilots. Hell, I died less than a week ago.
Pod pilots bragging about facing death is like dentists bragging about facing teeth.

Yendaj, obviously you don't know who we are. Again, our only contention with this corp is that they are attacking corps in Minmatar space. Corps who supply us. Not those that supply the Amarr. We also will not leave this corp the ability to do this again to another Minmatar corp. Perhaps, if you had shown such diligence when this happened to you, we would not now have to delay our plans to take care of this.

This doesn't even begin to qualify as a civil war. HeXstoof is a corporation of about 20 pilots and they left TLF shortly after they began this war. This in no way represents the division a civil war would. Classic attempt at feeding your propoganda machine, but doesn't work this time, mateys.
After briefly talking to their CEO, I was told that they don't give a hoot the race and bloodline of their targets, and Starfish was chosen "at random". They left TLF so they were able to follow war-targets into spacelanes belonging to both Amarr and Caldari.
Unfortunately the TLF does not have the resources to deal with them now that they are outside our boundaries. This may sound like an excuse, but I would rather our forces focus on what needs to be done to protect the Matari from an Amarrian invasion, rather than moving forces into high-sec to deal with a small pirate threat.
I wish Starfish the best of luck in their war with HeXstoof.

As for the Militia, we were concerned when they were a part of the TLF. They are no longer. This is all we ever asked of the Militia.
I also personally appreciate your attention in this matter. As for Hexstoof, leave them to us :)

Edited by: Kilette Dark on 01/10/2008 14:44:22 Hello Everyone.
Well, what can I say. We are a Faction war corp, (You may or may not know any of us, but we do our bit), and then when we have run out of money fighting FW, we leave and we war dec someone, and try to ransom.
Our rules for picking someone are simple, they have to be bigger than us (normaly twice as big), they have to NOT be in FW (and infact have no faction war standings for preferance)
We dont ask for a lot of money, we offer a reasonable payment plan, AND we honour the agreement to fight on that corps side if they are War deced within three months.
The war tends to end when either they pay us (Which like hardly EVER happens, I think we have been "paid" twice"), they totaly Pwn us, (which happens a lot more than I like), they JOIN FW, (Id rather a 47 man corp fighting on our side, than a little investment money), they move somewhere we cannot go, or we make the ransom money plus losses in salvage from them.
MAybe it is Blackmail, and maybe it makes us the Baddies, (have you seen our cap badges?), BUT it does NOT make us trators.
AS to how this WAR is going? Well, Id say it was about even at the moment.
PS. I know they probably dont have 47 "active" players. But equaly we dont have 20

In what way "Fight on my side"?
Not one of their members that we have found has any standing with the tribal liberation force. And their corp has NO standing with them Either.
Our corp whilst only haveing the lowly standing of 2.23 at least has a standing.
So why are we trators? We fight for the Faction. We fund this effort by ransoming corps who do NOT fight for the faction.
If you can link to any ONE FW kill or loss for the OPs corp, proir to our WAR dec, we will withdraw our war.

Edited by: Elsebeth Rhiannon on 01/10/2008 15:44:36 Standings are not the only measure. There are a lot of industrial corporations in Republic space who are actively working for the militia without being part of it or having official standings, and there are a lot more who are not actively working but are citizens that contribute to the markets and economy that keep also you running. According to the original poster, and confirmed by other information, you have already made mistakes here.
Militia does not exist for the sake of Militia. It exists for the sake of defense of Republic space.
Again, if you want to prey on peaceful citizens, at least have the decency to do it outside of the space you pretend to protect.

There is a reason we do not have faction warfare standing. We are mainly an industrial corp at this time. We were not ready for combat yet (which is why we are not in FW atm, and why we haven't moved to low sec yet).
Kilette : You have podded a rookie in a rifter. A rookie who had just begun training to take on the Amarr. So, count one for their side I guess. Good job. You think we will pay you? Even our peaceful miners and manufacturers have begun to train for combat earlier than intended.
We would be wasting resources that could be used against the Amarr, if the purpose of cleaning out the Republic was not being served. Not our job, not what we intended to do, but something we will not overlook. While this may have been a better job for Republic Security Services, if this is how we can best serve the Republic, we serve willing.

Miss Rhiannon is correct. No matter how you try to twist your words, you're attacking citizens of the Republic. Joining the militia is a choice, not mandatory. By your same logic, you would be attacked for abandonding the militia. The fact that I've never seen a single one of your pilots engaged in the Bleak Lands is a testament to your lack of support.
There are many TLF corporations who have spent all of their assets and resources in this war, but none of them have left temporarily to go and prey on our brothers and sisters back home. There are many ways to make a quick dollar in this universe, and pirating is indeed one of them. However, based one what you've said and the reports of Miss Starsparrow, you aren't making any money this way, and this is just a invalid excuse to prey on un-suspecting corporations. By taking yourselves out of the militia to wage a non-profitable war against a Matari corporation, you are doing a great diservice to your people and the militia. I suggest you redirect your focus elsewhere.
Well I'm quite disgusted, and should we ever meet face to face, you would have a loogie flying into your eye shortly.
But before I leave you be, I suppose some "contstructive" critisism is required.
