I think that this gentleman got it right. I've crashed 4 - 5 times just trying to load MSHD, and yeah - I'm ****ed off. I don't mind loosing (Ok, I'm lying here - I do mind) but I would at least like to have the chance to fire off my guns!!!
If CCP is hell bent on delivering a sub par performance on this game, which is - lets face it - geared towards huge engagements when it comes to Alliance warfare:
- At least give us some easy listening as we're being shut out of the actual game.
Something nice. Something easy on the ear.

Greetings all,
Just a quick follow up to let you know what was going on server side with the fleet battles today.
Right as the first battle in MSHD-4 commenced, we got our usual notification that the CPU on the node supporting that solar system was heavily loaded. Within a couple of minutes the node had died - somewhat unusual. Over the course of the next hour or so, the node died multiple times, and an analysis of the system logs showed that it was not responding well to the high load.
At this point, we re-mapped the fleet battle to one of our new "dedicated" nodes. These were installed recently in the cluster and have around 16gb of RAM, and faster CPU than others. They also run a special 64-bit EVE server (thanks to StacklessIO we can do this now) that allows them to use this extra memory.
Once the system was remapped, it seems that the newer hardware responded quite well to the fleet battle, and did not experience the same crashing issue as the regular node did. Our server boffins will be going over the data from this next week, so expect some more juicy information about all this stuff soon.

LOL what a c.r.a.p. do you really think we believe in this. Anyway another system (M-OEEB) crashed aswell several times (which happened also few days ago).
Anyway props to everyone friendly or hostile who had patience to wait stucked and desynced for hours last few weeks and all that for only 14.95$ per month.
P.S. Its time for new devblog about ambulation, or correcting spelling mistakes in Zimbabwe client so we can forget that we are paying for the product thats broken for years.

Edited by: SFShootme on 28/09/2008 00:22:47 Thanks for the update mindstar, the module latency didn't really appear to be a problem during the fights. But the server did not seem to respond really well to all the people logging in at the same time.

As a native Zimbabwein who also teaches Zimbabwenese to under privileged children, I find that correcting Zimbabwenese spelling mistakes should be a top priority. I mean c'mon how can you expect me to play the game if their is spelled thier?

Ugh, quit your whining. Think of it as the lineup at the burger shwing. You stick 600 people in the same store, it's gonna take a while to get yer whopper folks. It may not even be warm, or have the right fixin's.
You want a blue ribbon steak, be prepared to pay for it through the teeth.
I'll take what I can get from the heat rack, thank you very much.
Oh yeah, boost my pants.
